The answer you are looking for, dear peeps, is yes, that $ 53K glass vase would look lovely in Carrie’s living room.

I once saw a bio of Dale Chihuly on PBS. The guys got this pirate patch and he has some mad skills in the glass blowing arena. Turns out he is also an essential part of the Seattle artists scene. Very intriguing guy and very intriguing work(you can read it here: ). So when I wanted an impromptu viewing of some of his work we trekked over to the Traver Gallery. A handful of Chihuly work and a number of other cool local artists. Now if I only had $ 200K burning a hole in my pocket for the Chihuly chandelier for my dining room!

While I enjoy this gallery everytime I go there, I just can’t help wonder who would buy this stuff??? I mean, come on! I could do half of the stuff I see on the walls here… but I guess that’s what it comes down to; I could do it, and they did do it. This gallery is owned by the same person who owns Vetri International Glass, which is on First ave, in the same building. Too bad that these two galleries are not connected by stairs, it would make for a better experience.

This is a nice art gallery in downtown Seattle. It’s on the second floor of the building across the street from the south end of Pike Place Market(above Caffe Ladro).

A gorgeous gallery with plenty of space, this is one of the best places to find glass art by leading local artists. They tend to put on amazing openings, too, so definitely stop here if you’re out for the First Thursday art walk downtown.
