Every time I am in Seattle I come here and get something for the love of my life. The owner of this place travels to Mexico and surrounding areas of Mexico to seek out the best of the best authentic folk art to bring back to her shop for you to purchase! How could that ever be anything less than a 5 star effort? This location is HUGE so you have a wide variety of goods ranging from teeny tiny and super affordable to enormous works of art worth every penny if you’re on the hunt for such a purchase. Recently I purchased a bride with bride folk art figurines, they’re little evils and have fantastic detail like tiny veils and hand painted flowers in hand. It was awesome to see the LGBT integration with this type of art. There were a couple groom with groom pices too and they were adorable! Next time I am in Seattle, like always, I will be in this shop!

We first stopped here on our honeymoon and purchased a Oaxacan wood carving. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about the piece. We just recently returned 5 years later and the store has moved but they continue to have such beautiful artwork. We purchased another piece and they were able to ship it to us without any issues. If you are in Seattle, check this place out. You won’t be disappointed.

After going to happy hours with my two high school comadres, we walked to this amazing store. This store is truly choc-a-bloc with the very best Mexican items. I was unable to resist a beautiful Otomi table runner and a Frida Kahlo bag. My friend bought several beautiful silver charms. The women that helped us was both charming and knowledgeable.

Being Mexican you know I love my calavera figurines. So walking by this awesome shop I was drawn in by the lotteria print on the door. As I walked around the store I found tons of calavera boxes including one that was a day of the dead alter honoring Frida Kahlo. I got the calavera box and a cute Frida Kahlo charm bracelet. So obsessed with this shop!

I had been looking for a shirt with La Catrina for a long time… lo and behold Tracy, at Milagros Mexican Folk Art, had the perfect shirt with the perfectly sized image, just not in my size. She offered it to mail to me as soon as her next shipment arrived and a couple of weeks later I was wearing my new awesome shirt back at home in Portland. Excellent customer service, great selection of art and very knowledgeable.
