Trask Orthodontics

Dr. Trask took advantage of my family for years by insisting on more orthodontic work than was necessary, and the (literally) painfully slow process lined her pockets while draining ours. While her assistants were kind and professional, Dr. Trask herself has the poorest bedside manner of any medical professional I have ever had the misfortune to meet, and I have seen her be openly rude to children while in the office. My experience with Dr. Trask cost over $ 10,000, and the result has been only marginally straighter teeth with a permanently misshapen jaw due to her placement of a band on one side of my mouth while I was still growing that caused my bones to grow out of place. If you are looking for an orthodontist, try Leone & Vaughan– not only are they kinder than Dr. Trask, everyone is incredibly professional and they are working to undo the damage caused by my years with Trask.

Wish I had looked here first. No wonder they have a poor review.
Staff and the dentist are ever so lovely to the adult and rude and punitive to my daughter. Her brackets kept falling off and each time their anger disgust elevated towards her. They do not allow parents to go back and on numerous occasions my daughter returned to me crying. She now wants her braces off not because of how they look or feel but because of how she is treated.
Ultimately they quietly acknowledged they had evaluated her mouth wrong and the breaking brackets were here fault. This is my ultra responsible daughter. Then when she called in about one bracket breaking they went into a tirade that made her shaking mad.
If they did not have all of our money we would leave pronto

The treatment my kids received has been fine. I can’t identify any issues regarding that. This review is for her availability. The office is only open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday which makes it very difficult to schedule timely appointments and next to impossible to schedule appointments after school hours. If you don’t schedule your next appointment when you leave your previous one expect to wait up to a month (sometimes more) for an appointment from the time you call. If you need an appointment in August leading up to school, prepare to wait a long time. So many patients are trying to get in before the school year starts and yet the office doesn’t make any revisions to its schedule to accommodate them. Had I known this before my kids started treatments, I would have gone elsewhere.

Trask Orthodontics has been a great fit for our Family. Dr. Trask has put braces on both our children and the results have been amazing. She and her office staff are prompt, curtious, and know teeth! My daughter had a particularly difficult issue with a tooth not dropping down. She explained the oral surgery that would be required and made sure my daughter informed and aware of procedure. We are so pleased with the outcome of both our kids teeth and smiles that we would recommend Trask Orthodontics to anyone we know! Visit them, you won’t regret it!

I am now 21 and living with the aftermath of Dr. Trask’s orthodontia. My bite is completely messed up — my lower teeth and jaw rest farther out than my upper teeth, creating an extreme underbite. Apparently, Dr. Trask fails to compensate for jaw growth as people age, as other orthodontists do. My bite is also completely crooked, and my teeth do not line up. Additionally, the number of times I have had to go in about broken permanent retainers and other issues is absolutely absurd.
And then there’s the treatment when you go to Dr. Trask’s office for an appointment. First of all, it is near impossible to get scheduled, especially one that doesn’t require missing school. When you arrive, someone will work on you — Trask comes over briefly at the end to «check out» your teeth. She is usually there for a minute, tops, is hardly helpful and dismisses any requests or questions you may have. It’s just a bunch of crap.
I don’t have a good frame of reference for how my smile would look had I been to a different orthodontist. But I guarantee it is not worth risking it with Trask. In a word, her work is sloppy, and it is clear she doesn’t give a flying f*** about her patients.

This is one to really stay away from. With my first son, when he got his braces off after five years of treatment, his teeth were chipped and ridges had formed in his teeth. The real disaster came with our younger son. The doctors staff screwed up the paper work and never got it to the insurance company. Two years later this came to light. Their excuse was that it was our responsibility to do so. However, they did submit the paperwork for our first son. Furthermore, how could we submit the paper work ourselves if the office never provided it. That said, it cost us $ 1500 in lost insurance benefits. We tried to have Dr. Trask at least share some of this loss but she would not take any responsibility for it at all. We kept paying off our responsibility for services until we reached a balance equal to the amount that was in dispute. Rather than compromise, Dr. Trask fired us. She wouldn’t even come to the phone to discuss the matter when we called. We took our son to another Orthodontist who informed us that he needed jaw surgery to correct his bite and that the Orthodontics he received up until now could not have corrected it. Trask never mentioned surgery and it is unclear to us as to how she expected to successfully complete treatment. She had recommended that we have teeth extracted at the beginning of treatment and this may have directly contributed to the problem of our sons bite. So now we are out the money we paid her for incompetent services and are facing another $ 2000 with another orthodontist to correct the problems plus possibly 5 – 10,000 for an oral surgeon. Our experiences have been continuous lack of basic customer service and professional standards. Not to mention possible incompetence on her part. One of the service providers at the orthodontist we sought a second opinion from told us that she also hadn’t had very good experiences with Dr. Trask and that her friends daughter who saw her and completed treatment had very poor results.
