Tradecraft Builders

I worked with Tradecraft for an office remodel project. They were very flexible with hours as we needed our employees to be able to work during the standard working hours. They were great with communication and were very reliable. I would use them again.

As a first time home owner, I wanted to be sure to protect the value of my home without spending a fortune. The house was in need of a few medium-​sized repairs (chimney, sagging eaves, gutters, insulation) so I set to get quotes for each. The problem I discovered is that each quote contained different recommendations about what «had» to be done. Not having a background in this type of thing, it was difficult to determine the way forward. That’s when I called Trent at Tradecraft Builders.
Trent came out immediately and we walked through each potential repair. He was very professional and personable and basically said that each quote was accurate in some regard, but the key difference is in maintaining the integrity of the house. For example, one quote had me redoing the chimney from the roofline up with new bricks. That would have solved the problem, but decreased the value of my home due to mismatched bricks. That is just one example.
At the end of the day, Trent’s price came to about the same as the individual quotes combined but each repair took into account maintaining resale value. Also, when they cracked open the corner of the house to rebuild, they discovered that less work was required than expected so they were able to reduce my cost.
One other key benefit is that I was able to just give Trent a key and he took care of everything. All jobs were completed on or ahead of schedule, the house looks great and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.
For those interested, here is the work that Tradecraft Builders did:
— Chimney: removed chimney to roofline, cleaned bricks, rebuilt using the same bricks, installed earthquake strapping, flashing, mortar crown and chimney cap, tuckpoint (mortar repair) from the roofline to the ground)/
— Sagging corner /​gutters: fixed the sagging corner of the house, adjusted the gutter, tested all the gutters for correct water flow and raised where necessary.
— Insulation: removed old insulation, cleaned the attic and replaced with R38.
I will certainly be using them again.

Tradecraft Builders recently helped my company do some tenant improvement work in our SODO studio.
I’m usually not good at explaining exactly what I want, but the manager sat down with me and we drew out what I was having trouble articulating. He explained what I needed to in ‘technical terms’ to his team, and the end result was totally on-​point!

Trent of Tradecraft Builders repaired a hole in the ceiling, which was damaged by rain. Dust and debris was kept to a minimum, and the repair is not at all discernible. He was mindful of my pets, and always left the work place clean. Plus he gave me some scrap building supplies for my next DIY project.
