I have been to thrive time and time again always trying a different item on the menu because I want to love this place and their food. Every time I’m so disappointed. I am curious to see how much $$$ of have dropped here. I’ve tried the thrivalicious bowl and it was absolutely loaded with cucumbers. Given the fact this is supposed to be a Mexican inspired dish and I’m Mexican, I can guarantee that cucumbers are not in our cultural cuisine. It really made the bowl weighed down and flavorless. Very dry too once you made it to the quinoa layer. I’ve had the coconut curry soup, which was also underwhelming. Mostly just a lot of mushrooms, which I’ve found strange and a sour curry flavor rather than rich and spicy. I’ve had the Bella burger, which was decent but lacked a density of a let’s say a black bean burger and just collapsed. I’ve had the spring rolls, which needed a flavor boost. I’d add more more mint and basil. Also a thicker sauce… it was like an over liquified PB2 powder with a salty punch of too much tamari. I’ve had the joyful bowl which has been by far the best thing I’ve tried here. Flavor and texture were what I have been looking for. Bump up the marinated kale and more than just 4 tiny pieces of red bell pepper and we have a winner. As for smoothies — they were all slightly warm and texture was off. The rapture was good but had a nasty film of foam on the top. Do not try the Alive… I could barely stomach it… the jalapeño burned. Celestial sea is the only smoothie I tried that I could finish and want more– so go for that if you like a minty, chocolatey, and almond buttery delight! Overall there are hidden gems on the menu… but for the price, and the MANY trials and error I don’t know whether to keep going. I would recommend they do some more recipe testing and swap out, scratch or replace some of the rather strange ingredients I’ve found in their dishes.

I know they have to flavor things with something, but it’s just a little too garlicy for me. I am not vegan but do alot of vegetarian and vegan cooking, and there are other ways! As other reviewers said, the smoothies look awesome but so expensive I didn’t even think about it. Don’t think I’ll be back.

Amazing food for those on diet restrictions and it tastes delicious! And add their friendly service — it’s the place to go! I love the Ninja roll — it’s their twist on a sushi roll — what ever the filling is — it’s amazingly good! And you have to try the Buddha Bowl — all the right flavors.

The concept of this restaurant is excellent. Raw, vegan, living food to counter all the cooked and boiled offerings out there. The reason I did not give five stars is because the flavors of the dishes are underdeveloped. For example, the deluxe burger has a brash quality to it. And even the salads, after a few bites, I lose the desire to finish the dish. They are the type of dishes that a beginner vegan would make. I will definitely keep this place in mind but will come back in a couple of years to see if they improved.

I’m always so excited to come here and eat raw flavorful food, but I always feel let down. Today I had the superbowl salad. I saw the giant list of ingredients and decided to try it because I love lots of flavor and texture. Well it was nothing more special than a side salad at Applebees. It was tiny. I thought I had ordered the regular 2 lb bowl but upon getting it I immediately knew I would need to make a stop for dinner on the way home. The ingredients were really spring mix, cucumber, and tomato. I literally had 1 half a mushroom and maybe 4 almonds. I would guess a teaspoon of qinuoa. And the dressing was just vinegar. I don’t understand, they could be so excellent but their results always never meet up with my expectations. I will say, the Buddha bowl is the one and only bowl I will ever order again because it is pretty good. Every time I try something it is just an overpriced piece of cabbage and tomato, or lettuce and tomato. The golden vanilla steamer is awesome. Really good. I would come back for the drink if I were close. The majority of the rest of what they offer… it’s just nothing special unless you are looking at their prices.

I love this place. The food is exceptional and consistent. I really appreciate any gluten free, vegan restaurant that serves fresh and tasty food and have been a customer for many years. The food is quite expensive, especially the add ons. By no means is this place reasonably priced for the portion sizes. However I am still a frequent customer because its sooooo good! I wish the menu featured more specials, and rotated a bit more frequently, but otherwise I will be a customer as long as they are in business. I recommend the Buddha or thai bowl(always add avocado) and coconutty smoothie.

Ok im sure it was just me cuz this place has a good rating which is why I went in the first place. The staff were very friendly, but it was the food and smoothie I did not like. First the water they offer is luke warm which was just off to drink. As for the smoothie I got to coconut one and it was also warm I’m assuming from the coconut meat. As for food I got the juggernaut the sauce that was used kinda ruined the entire dish for me. So after 2 bites and sips from my smoothie I literally had to throw them both away. $ 23 + change literally in the garage which def sucks :(

I don’t know if it’s because I don’t look like their average(or desired) customer, but I’ve never had a particularly friendly experience here. There’s never a time they haven’t been incredibly abrupt, and a little off putting. But, they have some incredibly nutrient dense and delicious food and they are efficient at getting it to you. It comes out pretty quickly. You can order for pick up, via several delivery services, or done-in. The menu is much more than the vegan smoothies, which made them popular. They have warm grain bowls — quite a treat — as well as sale and noodle dishes, a vegan burger, soup, juice … And it’s all really flavorful. You will not go away hungry!

I always like to start with the way that I eat because I think it matters in my reviews. I eat a Whole Foods Plant Based diet. Which means low fat, whole foods, no animal products. I don’t normally eat raw vegan, smoothies or nuts. So take my review with a grain of salt. The woman behind the counter was super helpful and nice. My husband and I started with the Tiramisu because it was ready first. It was delicious. I had the Thai Salad and my husband had the burger and we split the nori rolls. I like more spice and should have added it to both, but didn’t. I liked his burger better than mine. Overall, I think its a super cute café and I whole heartedly support the healthy foods they serve, it just didn’t wow my taste buds.

A wide selection of smoothies, juices, bowls and other goodies but my only gripe is how slow they are. Be prepared for a wait even if it’s not crowded.

Wonderful food(understatement) and wonderful staff. How can Thrive consistently get both so right? My favorite vegan restaurant in Seattle. I had been craving Thrive’s food all day and rewarded myself after a long day’s work and it was so worth it. The Superbowl salad is complex and satisfying. The Herban Green Immunity soup was rich and very flavorful. the vegan truffles are an exquisite dessert. I will keep coming back.

You’ll never get genuine, kind service like you do at Thrive. Prepare to feel nourished inside in and out with good food, good vibes, and good customer service. This is a must-go for any vegan/vegetarian or raw foodie in the Seattle area.

There aren’t as many kombucha on tap spots in Seattle as there are in Portland so I liked that they had it here. It’s not housemade though.(It’s Brew Dr. Kombucha if I recall correctly.) I also had the Buddha Bowl here. It was delicious with lots of fresh veggies and quinoa. The onion cashew cream was on point. This spot is cute and great for healthy eats!

The smoothies here are so dang goooood! I just got the«Oh my Wonka» dates, almond milk, cacao, cashew, peppermint. It tastes like a vegan girl scout thinmint cookie! !!! Its a hearty and filling smoothie with just enough sweetness from the dates and agave and filling and rich chocolatey flavor from the cashews. Their menu was pretty large and I cant wait to come back and try nore smoothies and the food they have. They have some awesone vegan truffles and chcoolate bars as well as a small group of vegan goodies in the back of the store. ** JUSTKNOW the smoothies are expensive $ 7+ but bc they are quality ingredients and are very filling. The cash registers were kind and very informative too.

Being from California, I have some high standards when it comes to vegan food, and Thrive wins the challenge! I have been here twice now and loved it all. The first time, I had the Buddha bowl with avocado, which was fantastic. I got the immunity soup for my dad but tried a little and it was great! This time, I had the Thai bowl with avocado(sensing a theme? and maple coconut = WIN), the ninja rolls(best vegan sushi ever), and a mint lime kombucha(they have it on tap!) that was perfect and mild. I feel ridiculously good right now– it was all so delicious! I haven’t yet tried my goji chocolate truffle but I’m sure it will be perfection. And to top it all off, the people behind the counter have each been so kind and helpful. Really great service! I was lucky to have been gifted a few Groupons to Thrive for Christmas, but once the last one is gone, I will still come back!

Thrive is definitely on the expensive side. The bowls are very good, very flavorful. The miso soup is the tastiest I’ve had and it is definitely my favorite on a cold day. The desserts are terrific, particularly the truffles(made in house). There’s a little bit of a lack of attention to detail in the food as we had sunflower sprouts with the shell of the seeds still attached to the leaf. Also, this restaurant is cafeteria style, it does go inline to other healthy restaurants, but this in my opinion makes them seem a bit cheap.

Came into Thrive for my first time, since I’ve been wanting to try their juices! I ended up getting the Magenta Love, which was great, but I wish the ginger was bit stronger. In addition, the end of my drink was a little gross as I got the ginger and beet chunks at the bottom, in addition to all the foam from the blending process. I would consider coming back in the future, but for the price it won’t be a regular stop for me!

Açai bowl was weird. Had basil leaves and the«açai» had the texture and look of yoghurt(a pale milky light-lavender colour instead of a vibrant deep purple. The store didnt smell as bad as my last visit. I would not recommend getting the açai bowl at Thrive.

To quote Jack Johnson’s ‘Escape’: «I’m not really into health food, I’m into champagne.» I am not a raw/vegan/vegetarian — I was born and raised on «meat and potatoes»… and for a short period time of my live, top ramen(picky child eater) and Chinese chow mein(while a chemo patient). It hasn’t been until recently(my mid-to-late twenties… never ask a lady her REAL age) that I’ve really been focused on making significantly better food choices. All you need to do is watch Fed Up or Forks Over Knives, and you’ll understand what spurred this desire to change in me. Anyways, my fellow Ballard colleague is dabbling into raw veganism and has had food and juice from here before. I had mentioned I was running errands during my lunch break in the Wallingford area, right after she mentioned Thrive to me, so I offered to make a lunch run for her and I. She squealed(well, almost) with delight, handed me some cash, and wrote down her order. Having personally never Thrived before, I had to carefully consider their online menu — so many yummy sounding choices! I decided to also try the Northern Lights juice(12 oz) and the Thai Bowl. Now, I was a really picky eater as a kid so to realize I’m now eating freakin’ vegan food and juice would make the 3 year old me shiver. This food might scare those kids(and adults!) with chlorophobia(the fear of the color green) but not this chicky. I texted my order to Thrive, and got an immediate response — and texting your order? Super cool — wish I could dole out extra stars just for this 21st century option! A third co worker decided to get in on the fun and also order a Thai bowl — to which Thrive also acknowledged right away. I had arranged for a 1:30pm pickup, and I arrived right on time — and so did the food. They had just finished preparing both juices, and the bowls were already ready. The cashier — whose name I wish I had caught — was SO friendly and accommodating. She nicely put my juices in a to-go«crate» and the salads/bowls in a bag. I then asked a couple favors of her — first, I asked her to write down the price of the 16oz juice + ½ kale salad and 1 Thai bowl including tax, because my coworkers did have to pay me. She happily obliged — and I followed THAT favor up with her splitting a $ 20 bill for me so I could give my coworkers their deserved change. Now to the food review(sorry for the long-windedness of this post)… The Thai bowl very much delivered on the Thai flavors in some aspects, though the flavor of tahini really came through so the bowl was more Middle Eastern-esque to me, than Thai. That doesn’t mean I didn’t love it(I did! I ate it so quickly!) it just wasn’t as Thai to me as I expected it to be. The base included quinoa & rice, with shredded carrot, cucumber, zuchinni, topped with some yummy sauce and coconut flakes. The Northern Lights juice made my tastebuds tingle and was my first juicing experience. It was very refreshing(and green!) and is a great bevvie to have on these warm summer days. Will I be back to Thrive? Mostly likely — though I noticed they also offer delivery, so I’ll probably opt for that the next time I try their food. BONUS: If you«check in» on Unilocal, they give you a $ 2.00 off your next visit voucher!
