This is one of my favorite place. I tried Bibimbap Chicken Teriyaki, and Panini. They are all good. Yummy! The owner is nice too!

Their chalkboard menu said«Bi Bim Bob» so I said did you make that American(in a jokingly nice way) or is it something else other than Bi Bim Bap and the old Korean guy started yelling at me and saying that’s the way it is pronounced and got really defensive and upset and went off on me about other things that had nothing to do with anything I said. I guess I’m not the first person to point it out? I was like whoa I’m not trying to nit pick, I was just curious if it was something else? I would have left if I hadnt already ordered it. Ive never felt so awkward and uncomfortable. Then they started talking in Korean really loud and slammed it on the counter and said here! wow… I could only eat a small portion of it cause I just wanted to leave. They put thin sliced lettuce like for a subway sandwich lol, thin sliced eggs(not sunny side up as usual), a tiny portion of meat, carrots, etc… wow not good at all, and for how rude they were just made it even that much more disgusting.

The food was made to order, but it wasn’t very good. The bacon for the BLT was cold so it must have been cooked earlier in the day. :( The lettuce on my sandwich was a little slimy too.

They claim to be open for breakfast but they are always closed when I try to go here. No posted hours.

Fresh food, made too order. The owner greets you when you walk in and was very friendly, he knew many customers by name as they walked in. The food was very good and they have fresh brewed coffee. This is a great neighborhood café and I will definitely stop back next time I am in Seattle.

Great little breakfast or lunch spot. A definite life-saver if you work in the Securities Building! The breakfast sandwiches are great, just like you’d make at home, and for lunch, get the bi bim bap. It’s filling, interesting, and delicious. Sandwiches and teriyaki are above average, and there’s a good selection of juices and sodas. But really, why aren’t you eating bi bim bap right now?

Our almost-exclusive lunch spot, and occasionally breakfast spot, when we work in Seattle… Of course, our office is just two floors up the elevator in the Securities Building from them – they have a side entrance that connects to the Securities lobby so we don’t even have to set foot on the sidewalk. Breakfast sandwiches are okay in a pinch, on-par with McD’s or Jack-in-the-Box in my mind. Eggs are cooked to order, but from ‘scrambled egg mixture’ and not fresh-cracked eggs. The big drawback with their breakfast menu is that they don’t open until 8:00 am, which is about the time we start having clients come in, so I’d rarely want to wait that long. Hot sandwiches(«paninis») are all quite nice, but the cold sandwiches I’ve had so far have felt a shade mediocre. I generally gravitate toward the ‘specialties’ menu, for a delicious and generous portion of chicken teriyaki. The Bibimbap is good too, if spicy Korean stir-fry is your kind of thing. I recommend them if you’re in the area(Macy’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc) and want a nice inexpensive lunch.

I work upstairs so I eat at Thirds Ave Café weekly. The owners are so friendly, they always make us feel welcome. Their drink selection is HUGE. The chicken curry is my all time favorite! I’m always bummed when they run out, but that just shows how amazing it tastes! The California Club is also a really good sandwhich to try. Stop by if you’re in the Downtown Seattle area and looking for a quick bite!

Marinated yellow and red tomatoes with melted provolone and cheddar(I think it’s cheddar) in an inside out toasted focaccia was delicious! Those marinated tomatoes are so good! Boyfriend said his turkey sandwich also with provolone and cheddar(still not sure if it’s cheddar) in an inside out toasted focaccia was also very very good. The people that work there are very friendly and if you don’t like something just let them know and they’ll custom make it to your liking. Even have a money back guarantee that a frequent patron told us was true. Will be back on my lunch break!

If you’re with people that all want something different, or if you just want a wide selection to choose from, the Third Ave Café is the place for you. Something for everybody there; a wide selection of paninis, burgers, all the classic deli sandwiches(including a vegetarian), teriyaki, and bogoli which is a marinated Korean beef. Today I took a spread my culinary wings and ordered the bi bim bap which is a great Korean one-dish meal. It comes in a cross between a plate and a bowl. There’s white rice piled in the middle topped with thin slices of what I think is scrambled egg, and around the rice are meat, similar to the beef you’d find in sukiyaki. The beef may actually be the bogoli. Then there’s noodles, lettuce, and different vegetables such as cucumbers, sprouts, and mushrooms. They give it some punch with hot sauce and you can indicate how much you want. Then following my uncle’s lead, I kind of mixed it into this awesome combination of flavors and textures. I’m always struck by the wide selection of drinks they have available too. The breakfast is pretty normal deli fare; bagels, muffins, and breakfast burritos. They serve Caffe D’arte coffee and make espresso. They also have cookies. Place is really clean too.

My coworker picked up breakfast tacos from this establishment do to The US Courthouse Café being closed(something about Columbus) today. My taco consisted of: Flour tortilla Hash-brownie potatoes Sausage patties Salsa Frankly, it was terrible. The tortilla was stale tasting, the hash brown things tasted like they were freezer burnt, the salsa was a runny cold obviously store bought yuck fest and the sausage patty cut into pieces and stuffed inside… Blech. I can make a much better breakfast(and did saturday) for probably less, though I didn’t pay and have no idea what they cost. [Update: I just realized this is the same place I get lunch at occasionally. The sandwiches are delicious. Added two stars.]

If it weren’t for Third Ave. Café, my coworkers would be *mighty* irritated, having to listen to me go ON and ON about how I’m «starving» and how«these Altoids aren’t filling at all!» To my complete shock, the breakfast sandwiches/burritos ARENOTFROMCOSTCO… The cute little couple there actually *makes* them. Like, with real eggs. That they scramble. Right there. Behind the counter… I know! Weird! And did I mention — $ 3? That’s almost as cheap as a box of breakfast Altoids!

The 3rd Ave Café is kind of hidden… My directions always include«past the Bed Bath and Beyond, but if you hit Sleep Country you’ve gone too far» — and that always makes me feel like taking a nap. This place is a pretty solid place to stop for a quick downtown breakfast or lunch. It appears to be family owned and the most they ever have is three people behind the counter, so right during the noon hour it CAN get a little backed up. The menu is mostly sandwiches — some standard turkey clubs and BLTs plus toasted paninis if you want something warmer. But they also have several specials every day — generally a few chicken and rice dishes and maybe a cheeseburger, although if you get lucky the special is lasagna, and it’s pretty damn tasty. In the morning they have breakfast burritos and other breakfast sandwiches. Also available are homemade pasta salads, containers of sliced fruits and vegetables, sometimes homemade breads(banana, zucchini), and a plethora of your standard candy bars, chips, sodas and other snacks to grab and go. I wouldn’t say the 3rd Ave Café is a destination kind of place. But it’s a nice option if you work in that part of downtown. My only cautionary advice: it gets boring if you eat there too much(as any place would) and the egg salad sandwich is just a teensy bit too salty for my taste. They serve Caffe D’arte coffee and can do pretty much whatever kind of espresso drink you want — if they don’t know how to make it chances are if you explained it they’d do it. The staff is ridiculously sweet and they’ll quickly recognize you if you start to go in regularly. One of the reasons I give them a 4 is because they are so friendly.(While I’m in the coffee paragraph, they also have a good variety of tea packets.) As for hours, the stop serving breakfast at 11am and they close at 4pm.
