I had a good experience here today. I had to buy formal shoes and something comfortable. I forget the lady’s name who helped me, but she was friendly, good to talk to, and very helpful. I left the store with two pairs of really comfortable shoes.

I purchased a pair of Aero shoes there several months ago. The salesman was very attentive, courteous and helpful. The shoes were great but about two months after wearing them the left shoe started to emit a loud squeaking sound every time I stepped down on it. Apparently this is due to a damaged air cushion in the sole and a known issue with these shoes (based on reviews I came across elsewhere). When I brought them back to the store to show them, the saleswoman promptly exchanged them with no questions asked. She was very professional and kind.

The 5 stars all go to Damien. He spent I don’t know HOW LONG helping me narrow it down to two pairs, stretched, reshape and have me all kinds of tips and advice beyond the shoes I was trying to purchase. Very thankful for people like him. He truly went above and beyond his duty. We are from CA here celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary. I recommend this place to anyone. And definitely go to Damien!

I went there to showroom-​shop some Dansko XP Professionals and have no plans to ever return. After agreeing to have my feet scanned the saleslady proclaimed my toes were invisible in a rather tactless manner. I nodded in amazement and cordially declined the option to have said scan saved with an email address. Twice.
She quickly rattled off a recommendation for using orthotics to «save my feet» and disappeared into the stockroom.
Mind you, I was there to try on 1 pair of shoes. I asked for 2 different sizes, same style. She returned with those as well as 2 completely different shoes. Running shoes and grandma shoes. Plus some orthotics. No insult to the grandmas out there, but I’m on a budget. And very picky. Upsell much?
I went ahead and tried on the 2 sizes of the XP and (thankfully) they were out of stock in my size/​color desired. Shucks. During this exercise I commented how awesome Dansko shoes are, and how I have worn them before, etc. etc. I was then schooled by the saleslady and her cohort, and repeatedly told that I should buy the size they had in stock because it is the correct size for my feet. Me thinks not.
Not only are they not getting an email address, they will also not be getting my business. Leaving proved to be tricky as the saleslady launched into a demo of the 2 alternate styles she had brought out. She actually asked for my email once more … in case I wanted to special order the shoes … no thanks,

Super helpful/​friendly service. A little pushy at first (only reason they didn’t get 5 stars), but I made it pretty clear they were my first stop and that I’d be back later to order a shoe unless I found what I wanted at Nordstrom.
Once that was understood, I had a great time.
I came back to order the shoe a few hours later.

This place is great for feet that work long hours.
The staff are a little short and I feel like it is very exhausting for them to help me. I used two gift cards for my purchase and it seemed like a lot of work for the guy behind the counter. He was kind of huffing and puffing his way through the transaction. He did get the job done and ordered me my Ugg boots.
Aside from the staff in the store, the business as a whole is great. The shipping is quick. Returns are easy. They have a great selection of Danskos. I love the shoe and like to have a lot of options. Comfort is what they advertise and they definitely come through with a many comfortable options.
If you are a health care worker, they offer 15% OFF of your bill, except the Uggs. Great deal!!!

Argh. Three stars for the woman that helped at the Ngate store… but minus stars to the the gentlemen (I use the term loosely) that assisted me with a return. RUDE! How do you have a job? You huffed and puffed your way through a very simple transaction, with receipt, and me being very pleasant… I don’t deserve that. You should not be working with with the public if you don’t understand the basics of customer service. You dropped boxes on the floor with «BANG» and caused a few customers to glare at you more than once, snatched my credit card from my hand as if I slighted you in some way. Really? Really? Because of you, I’m NEVER shopping at The Walking Company again… it was really a terrible experience.
