Man I feel bad giving this place a 1 star, but the food was way too expensive for how basic and flavorless it was. A reg scramble, small pancake meal and orange juice for 41 dollars. Not worth the money, not impressed, very disappointed. We won’t be going back and I wouldn’t waste your time or money here either.

Was moving to First Hill and got hungry of all the places I could google on My phone their prices looked really cheap so off My husband went to pick up food. When He gets there and orders everything which was two sandwiches and an extra fries the total was 40.44 $! Their online menu stated the sammies were 4.75 and side dishes were 2.95 $ so this was a shock I could have gone around the corner and got some nice Chinese for this price and the Rubens did not even have rye as well as they no longer carry half the stuff on the online menu including Fried Okra and Crab Cakes when My husband asked if they had updated menus the guy got snarkily said no. Sucks that not only are they way too expensive but rude because they are literally around the corner and would have been nice to have a local place to drop into whenever. The food was sub par for the price and I would not recommend.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It has a good location in First Hill, and it could be so much better. I got the Eggs Benedict(lots of pictures of that already). The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the ham was tasty. Hashbrowns LOOKED great but they were pretty bland. Didn’t finish them, and I’m not one to drench sides in ketchup. Coffee was meh, but the orange juice was tasty. The service was pretty slow. There were only 3 or 4 parties sat down(there were like 12 empty tables) and it took 15 minutes for me to just get sat down and order coffee. But hey I’m not here at a café for stellar service, I want some good breakfast, and I think this place was good enough to come back. Just hopefully next time it will be with more attentive staff.

Not impressed. I feel rushed here. And the price is too high for food that is best described as basic

I love this place. The staff are awesome and the food is good comfort food. I love the casual atmoshphere, that I can come in, sit down and get a warm meal served with a smile every time. My favorite splurge is the country fried steak.

Convenient to Virginia Mason hospital. Wasn’t feeling well so was in search of homemade chicken noodle soup, which was good. Ordered the Grilled Vegetable sandwich & thought it would be better on thicker bread like focaccia instead of thin wheat. Docked a star because there was a hair in my chai latte & something floating in my water. The really nice waitress brought me new ones right away.

Not impressed. The food was less than tasty and the employees seemed to hate their jobs today. The chocolate milk is super good though. Won’t return.

Definitely your run-of-the-mill 3-star breakfast joint. Does the job when it needs to, my only knock is that the pricing is expensive for what you get. I was ~60% full after my meal, that I paid $ 14 before tax for. Granted, it being my first time I had no idea what the portion sizes were going to be. Being on First Hill, I suppose it’s not surprising to see overpriced meals at most places you go to. I had the Joe’s special scramble(beef, spinach, mushroom, onions topped with) that comes with hashbrowns and toast. Taste? 6.5÷10. All in all, if you need breakfast during the day and don’t want to hit up an IHOP/Denny’s/Sharis, you could pop in here.

People are way to picky in seattle. I don’t live here but was visiting and this place was great. I had corned beef and hash and it was really good .the service was great and it’s nice being able to get a real mocha with my food .it was reasonable priced and if I ever come back to Seattle, I’ll be coming here again. I would defiently recommend giving it a try.

UPDATED: Sadly, downgraded from 4 stars to 3. Been here a couple times now, and the breakfast food is good(never tried the lunch menu), but the service seems hit or miss. They’re always friendly, but the second time we came it took the waitstaff almost 20 minutes to come take our order after seating us.

Im sad to see that there are some less than stellar reviews. Let me say that I go to the corner café because I want some breakfast or lunch that tastes good and is fast. That is what I get here. Consistently good food at a fair price. I especially enjoy their scrambles and sandwiches.

My friend and I went to eat for a small bite to eat. It’s close to his place, and we liked how it had a European cafè vibe. We both didn’t want to eat a mega sized portion so we both ordered«sides». I ordered the corn beef hash(on the side) with a glass of tomato juice. My friend ordered french fries and a Cappuccino. The«waiter» seemed immediately irritated when we ordered sides instead of a meal. He must have been worried about his tip. When I got the tomato juice, it tasted freezer burnt, but I was hesitant to send it back since the waiter clearly seemed upset. When our food came out, I received a pretty terrible size of corn beef hash. Just a side of it cost 8 bucks. My friend had french toast put on the table instead of french fries. When he told the waiter about the mistake, the waiter did the ultimate no no and responded with, «I’m pretty sure you said french toast, but okay.» Our jaws dropped as we’ve both been in customer service, but went on with our day. As he served another table next to us, we noticed the drastic change in his demeanor, tone, and attitude with them. They after all, were older ladies who ordered full meals. He must have felt that he had secured a tip with them. When my friend’s correct order of french fries came to the table, the waiter threw it down and walked away before asking if he needed any condiments.(the opposite of what he did to the table next to ours). My friend called back to him as he walked away, and he said he’d get it in a moment. My corned beef hash was bland. I drowned it in Tobasco. When it was time to pay, we walked up to the counter, because I guess because it’s cafè style, you pay up front. When I got my receipt I was pretty angry, and had decided I wouldn’t leave a tip. The waiter was literally STARING at me, waiting for me to sign. I went to lean up against a counter somewhere else, so he couldn’t watch. As I went to, he said«Are you going to sign that?» I got irritated, and asked him why he’d treated us with bad service with the get go. I explained that just because we ordered small sizes, does not mean we deserve poor service. I also told him«what you imagined was going to happen, is now going to happen» as I put zero in the tip spot as he stared. He said nothing. I will never EVER return. The food alone was disappointing, but the service was also awkward and terrible. Advice: All customer’s are paying customers. Do not assume what type of tip they will leave based on the amount they order. Besides, all money is money. A small tip would have been better than NO tip. Also, you’re a CAFE styled restaurant. As someone who has lived overseas for a big portion of their life, people order small plates like french fries at cafes all the time. It’s part of the culture. People shouldn’t have to over eat or take a go box to ensure they’ll be treated well. I am just upset I gave my money to such a negative experience.

I gave it 1star due to I got. a chicken philly sandwich n let’s just say Where’s the chicken? It was skimpy and well let’s say 412 dollars it could have had sum chicken. Oh I got fries with my so called sandwich n let’s just say I would have been better off going to McNasty’s referring to McDonald’s. The service is usually good, but not this day. They stood at the counter more worried about joking with each other than actually waiting on the paying customers. Usually I order breakfast what usually is pretty good n with great service, but Not this day… Probably will Not return due to bad service n skimpy food portions. Hey McDonald’s is down the street it’s cheaper n you actually get a good portion usually with at least a smile.

Corned beef hash was terrible.(Nice enough service and clean so gave an extra star for that.) I wanted to like it here since I love casual breakfast diners and it is near my apartment. But the corned beef hash was just a big plate of undercooked and not seasoned potatoes with some tough corned beef pieces sprinkled in… also some tasteless bell peppers and onions. My over-medium eggs were cooked hard, so that was no help. Breakfast here was a giant plate of bland undercooked hashbrowns for $ 14! Not a good experience. I hope the other breakfast items are better. That was a waste of money and calories. I won’t be back.

A little corner diner It’s like a flashback in time to a little no-frills diner you see along a truck stop. They have a variety of food. The service is great and friendly. I had hot tea and my friend had coffee but I’ll be back to get a diner style breakfast.

First day in Seattle and of course in search of a place for breakfast. Decided to check out Corner Café because of its convenience. On a side note, I thought it smelt funny. But maybe it was something that they just cooked right before I came in. Anyway, LOL. There was plenty of seating and the staff was nice. The food was good, simple nothing really fancy. The Grub. [[ EGGSBENEDICT $ 13 ]] This benedict is made traditionally with English muffins, ham, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.
