I really enjoyed my first experience at That’s Amore! The restaurant isn’t too big or too small but big enough to fit a party of 6+. It’s got a nice view of Seattle skyline but the only downside is that only the back of the restaurant has the window to the view so I recommend making a reservation for those two tables if you really want the view. The vibe of the restaurant seemed pretty traditional yet casual, nothing fancy but definitely candle lit. I loved our server he was truly great in explaining all the daily specials and gave us plenty of recommendations before giving us time to decide. I got the polpetta, a pretty classic dish of just spaghetti and meatballs.(was craving it so badly) and my friend decided to get the Wild Boar pasta. Both were extremely tasty and the pasta was done al dente to my liking. The meat sauce tastes rich in flavor and the meatballs were both great in portion and in flavor. I went around 6:30 around a Wednesday night and it wasn’t busy at all. This place is nice for those who don’t want to deal with parking, a big large crowd. The price was really reasonable and the staff was great. Will definitely make the trip to come to east for great pasta!

A most welcoming place with a warm atmosphere. The staff were attentive from the first and looked after us for the entire night. The nighttime views of Seattle from our table were spectacular. Italian Pino Grigio smooth on the palate. Food simply irresistible. The business is well established and organised giving that easy feeling, no stress. Great night out.

I love a neighbourhood Italian café. Especially if it’s a good one, with a solid staff, and a menu that isn’t 10 pages long(we’ll just call that«wannabe Italian»). The best penne con pomodori I’ve had as well as some of the most flavourful Puttanesca EVER. I love this place. If I didn’t enjoy cooking, I’d eat here all the time and probably bust out of my pants. Also, THEVIEW. Try to get a window seat b/c the view is pretty freaking fantastic. If you get the chance, try to visit while Jill is working — she’s the bestest and will take great care of you!

The chef-owner at this restaurant is a master. He pulls amazing flavor out of every dish. His specials are truly special. We have been back three times now and every time has been as good as the last. His special starter during mushroom season has been chanterelles in an amazing sauce over polenta cakes. Wow! The mushrooms were amazing, but what was an extra special win was the polenta. It was perfect. The service staff we’ve met so far are wonderful and have worked there for years, a testament to a good work environment in addition to the wonderful food. There was also a remarkable openness to accommodating special requests when we brought our vegetarian friend. Mix, match and substitute. The desserts were also excellent. We are delighted and looking forward to our next visit. Oh, and as noted elsewhere, the view of Seattle is a delight. Bring your out of town visitors and make a reservation for the view.

I would’ve never guessed there would be an Italian café in this part of Seattle. a hidden gem with a KILLER view of downtown Seattle. Prices were reasonable, portions good, and food was delicious. I tried 2 items on the specials menu: pesto penn cove mussels and short rib tortellini. I also had a side order of meatballs, the wild boar ragu, and homemade tiramisu. Loved everything. All dishes were seasoned perfectly, well presented, and packed full of flavor. The tortellini had actual whole chunks of short rib meat As the filling. The mussels mmmm ! That sauce which tasted like white wine, butter, parsley, and tons of garlic was also a great dip for the bread. The wild boar ragu was delicious, great flavors, but I wish it was just a tad less oily. The star of the show was the meatballs with an amazingggggg tomato sauce. It had this really lovely deep red color boasting a subtle roasted flavor. I really liked the low key casual neighborhood atmosphere, yet I was able to have an intimate dinner date that felt like a million bucks with my significant other. It wasn’t busy on a Tuesday night so the service was great too!

Kind of a mixed bag for us. Pretty good food overall, but really slow and inefficient service on a Thursday evening. It took a long time for the waiter to pay any attention to us after we were seated, and then, after taking our dinner order without writing anything down, he managed to bring the wrong dish to one of our party. We were hungry and tired of waiting, and so we just accepted it without complaint. Afterwards, we tried to get his attention to bring us a dessert menu and we finally gave up. We just chased him down and asked for our bill. So the above was the bad part. The food itself, including the item that neither of us ordered, was quite tasty and fresh. The«Wild Boar Ragu,» which we did order, is an interesting and unusual item and very good. So four stars for the food, and two for the service. Average of three stars. It’s possible we caught them on a bad, short-staffed night, but I doubt if we will back anytime soon.

I can’t believe I forgot to write a review! They hosted our rehearsal dinner… very informal and fun time with terrific food! They worked with us to get a variety of items on the table, and all were delicious! The boar ragu was definitely the fan favorite. Great view too, they made us a long table at the back along the entire length of the window. Jill and the crew were awesome!

We are visiting Seattle and were looking for an Italian restaurant at which to celebrate the youngest daughter’s 8th birthday. That’s Amore came up and so we booked a table. First off, it’s situated on a ridge line with a great view of the Seattle skyline. And the back wall is basically window. So the view is incredible. That said, view does not make a dining experience. It’s the staff and the food. That’s Amore delivers on both. Between the five of us we sampled pizza, lasagna, a seafood linguini, and their wild boar ragu. All were beautifully prepared, nicely plated, and delivered by staff with personality and attention to detail. And they all tasted fantastic! Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked pasta, and reasonable portions. Their deserts are just as tasty. The flourless chocolate cake — Chocolate Decadence — is rich and dense. Get it with a side of whipped cream. The Almond Raspberry Torte is light and a perfect blend of flavors. And the Tiramisu is creamy perfection with the espresso balancing out the marscapone nicely. Do try one of their Italian sodas. The raspberry was my favourite! It is a small restaurant and clearly popular with the locals so I recommend using«Open Table» to book ahead. That said, despite being full, they do not hassle you to finish up and move on so they can seat a new group. No 6:30 and 8:30 seating here. You can enjoy your meal in peace. And, if it’s a birthday, let them know. My daughter’s desert appeared with a candle. But, more importantly, she got that little extra attention and commentary through the evening that made her night.

Such a treat! My first time dining at That’s Amore! Italian Café this weekend — and I already know we’ll be back! My hubby reserved the corner table next to the restrooms in the back– weird! Right? Turns out it’s the best table in the house! A cute little four top table with incredible views of Downtown Seattle, Elliot Bay and the Olympic Mountain’s beyond! The sunset on this gorgeous May evening was absolutely spectacular paired with the lovely dishes that kept being delivered to our table! It was a hard choice… this menu has SO many delicious sounding choices on it! We had to stall the waitress twice because we needed to scan everything and then negotiate who was going to try what and can I try a bite of yours if I order this other thing and share a bite with you? Like I said, the negotiations took time but they were well worth the effort! Ha! We started off with a small bruschetta to share: four pieces of bread covered in delicious marinated tomatoes! It was hard for me not to lick the plate clean for the sake of manners on this one! Then out came the salads: I ordered the spinach with prosciutto and eggs and the hubby ordered the Ceasar salad. Both were excellent and exactly as described on the menu. For the main course: I had the pollo piccata with buttered linguini and he had the polpetta. WOW! Did we each love our dinners! So many tastes, textures and flavors — it was a mix to be savored and enjoyed! The pollo piccata was excellent! Just the right blend of savory and tangy. I would order it again easily. Maybe add a little of that lovely marinated tomato mix from the bruschetta on top? However, was very glad after trying the bite of the polpetta that I did not order it. While my other half enjoys zippy tomato sauces– I do not. The meatball was delightful, but the zippy sauciness appeal on the sauce was lost on me. The hubby had no trouble though and devoured almost every morsel of the polpetta. Wine: he had a Malbec and I had a Pinot Grigio Zenato. Meh, neither were anything super special to write home about. But the red and the white wines paired well with our dinners respectively. Dessert course: Raspberry Almond Marzipan Torte! OHMYGOODNESS! I could go back just for this! It was SO good! And no, I did not share! Ha! What could have been better? Some fresh grated Parmesan cheese on top of everything(except the dessert.) There was some on the bruschetta and though fresh ground pepper was offered on the other dishes, I longed for some fresh grated Parmesan or even some Pecorino Romano grated atop my salad and pollo piccata. Overall — That’s Amore! Italian Café is little hidden gem in the Mt Baker neighborhood of Seattle! Nice intimate restaurant, good menu and fantastic views!

This is a pretty good place!!! We ordered the risotto cake, wild boar ragu, pork loin steak, and tiramisu. Everything was good, but the ragu was bland and needed more seasoning. Other than that, everything was delicious, specifically the steak. The service was good as well, the waitress make sure we got everything and was pretty nice. Portion was decent. Overall, i would definitely come back to try other things they have

That’s Amore is a nice neighborhood restaurant with a very nice view of Downtown Seattle. I live in the neighborhood and have eaten there quite a few times so when my sister asked where I wanted to celebrate my 50th birthday it only took me a few seconds think of That’s Amore. My sister scheduled the party of 20 with the owners for 6:30 on a Saturday. Then we had to make a change and it was rescheduled for 8PM. Then there was another scheduling snafu on our part and the dinner had to be rescheduled to 4:30. This final change was made the night before the party and while I know it was difficult for them to accommodate us, they did so with a smile and actually said thank you! Through all of those changes the staff at That’s Amore was not only willing, but they were so incredibly nice. Once we arrived I was surprised at what a full house they had so early on a Saturday. Even though they were obviously very busy the service was impeccable(as always) and the food was so delicious that everyone in my party was still raving about it three days later. It is needless to say that we will be back many times because the staff and owners not only serve the most wonderful food, but they always make us feel so welcome. Thank you That’s Amore for making my birthday party incredible and for making everyone in my party so happy.

We had a very good dining experience. We are visiting from Arizona and found this place on a dining app and weren’t disappointed. Our server, Guy, was great and the food was excellent. It’s a very quaint place and our table allowed us to see the amazing chef at work. Views from the back of the restaurant are awesome. Nice place all the way around.

I was originally going for their Porkloin Steak($ 18/plate but waitress suggested daily special Bistecca(New York steak) $ 35/plate. Sadly it was the worst steak I’ve had in a while. Way too much black paper! Completely overpowered the taste of the meat. Must add the sauce and asparagus were good. No one came by to ask how was our food until very end. I was really hungry so I end up eating it. Big mistake on my part. My stomach is tough but still end up hurting. Waitress didn’t offer any discounts and said that it was a good deal for New York steak and that’s how they prepare it. Our waitress(Jill) was nice but ultimately she failed at her job. We are not coming back! Update: This is a second day and my stomach is still burning. Was having trouble sleeping at night. Very disappointing experience.

I hate to say this… I really did not like the food at this restaurant. which makes me feel terrible because the service was really good. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly but flavor was just not there. The pasta dishes my boyfriend and I ordered were severely under seasoned. We ordered the fruiti di mari and pollo picatta. The bruschetta was just okay. The key lime cheesecake was the star of the meal. I’m not sure if they make it in house or order it elsewhere but I could probably eat a whole cheesecake to myself because it was light and not too sweet. I need to stop looking for Italian restaurants for dinner and just go to Il Corvo during lunch when I have a craving.

My friends, husband and I were in search of Italian food — the only criteria being«not in Belltown» and«somewhere in Seattle.» The lovely Krystin T. did her homework and came across this restaurant. At first when I heard that this place was in Mount Baker, for some reason, I thought it was really far away… but it’s right off of I-90 which made it a super convenient location for all of us. The restaurant itself appears to be pretty small but it looked like they had a bigger room in the back. It was really cute — it’s RIGHT next to another restaurant which I mistakenly went to first. Oops. It was totally awesome when I swore I had a reservation for 4 and gave the guy 4 different names that it could be under… and it totally wasn’t there. My bad! The service at That’s Amore! was really friendly — it felt really genuine and not totally fake like most places which I appreciated. The service was a little bit slow but that’s expected given it was a small restaurant and a Saturday night. We started off with the antipasti plate which was a good call for the 4 of us. It was really tasty and had different meats, cheeses, fruits and veggies — perfect for sharing. My friend and I had the Penne con Pomodori with tomatoes, olives and feta cheese which was really awesome. I thought it would come in a more«tomato sauce» but it was perfect just the way it was. Very garlicky with some tomatoes(but not sauce) thrown in. My husband had the spicy penne — I personally didn’t like the sauce but he seemed to enjoy it so I guess that’s all that really matters. When it comes to dessert time, normally we never have any room. I was already stuffed as was everyone else, but I don’t think there was ever a doubt in anyone’s mind that we wouldn’t be ordering any. We had the tiramisu which was really good but a little TOO powdery on the top. I kept choking every time I tried to eat because the powder would fly to the back of my throat. Probably more my fault than theirs. :) Lovely little restaurant tucked away… this would be a good date place!

In conclusion: I have experienced much better in both service and food quality I trusted the Unilocal review about this restaurant and visited last night. I love visiting small Italian restaurants and read that they were known for their Wild Boar Ragu as well. I have never had so much difficulty ordering wine at any establishment. Our waitress knew much less than smaller establishments with a much younger staff. She excused herself as to say that it was very busy. I could gauge very much on the environment as I waited for service when I arrived for quite a while without any communications after sitting. Even if we literally came all at the same time, the restaurant was actually not unmanageable as it was to my assessment. Also, the gentleman that was working with her was very fast and efficient without any signs of stress or rudeness. I do appreciate his professionalism and service. Overall on service: Rude and slow. I did observe that she does take her time and give her efforts to people she knows. This would explain all the rave reviews on here. Perhaps it is the community or friends/family that rated them well because I don’t see it. Food: The Wild Boar Ragu contained hard objects that crunched a lot which didn’t provide a great experience. The flavor of the grounded swine was not something I would state as a great dish by far. I did try their white sauce with shrimp and that dish was well made. The thin pasta with the shrimp married well with the white sauce that they flavored just right. Full conclusion: Bad service, nice venue and vistas, questionable on food quality since one was just bad and the other good, I give it a Meh, I’ve had much better. I will not be coming back again.
