Some really good eats here but also some that just didn’t do it for us. We were waiting for another person, so we first sat at the bar and ordered some drinks including a caparinha and sangria. Both were very delicious. We ordered a few tapas as well: ‘cheap dates’ and the pork belly. The cheap dates are basically dates wrapped in bacon. I though they were OK but my wife didn’t really like the sweetness of the dates. The pork belly made us both very :-). It would have been nice if they added more sauce though. There is very light drizzling of sauce on this nice fried piece of pork. By the time the other person came, we had the octopus and our Paella del Mar arrived. The octopus was nice and soft, served on top of some greens with a white lemony foam on top. Texture-wise it was fairly nice but the flavor didn’t stand out to me as much. The paella on the other hand was amazing! All around the paella dish there were mussels, on the inside you could see the scallops, dungeness crabs and all of this plain GOODNESS. It was also very hearty. The three of us grubbed hard at it and still had a full portion left. For three people it is more than adequate. For four, it would be about right, especially if you had appetizers. If we didn’t get the paella, the experience could have been meh, but luckily we did!

This place had its hits and misses for me, but there was enough promise that I’d give it another shot. The service was incredibly slow and inattentive. We waited 10 – 15 mins before we were even greeted and offered drinks, our food orders got a little mixed up, and we had to flag down a manager to get our bill and pay. But the highlights: — colada: vodka and fruit juices — delicious — pork tacos: tender and super flavorful(not spicy) — chicken croquetas: creamy, crunchy and cheesy… YUM! — queso fundido: served with toasted slices of the cornbread(not a big fan) but tastes better with tortilla chips — creamy and the meat adds another level of flavor, plus the fresh apple slices cut the richness and provide a hit of tartness I would try more and different menu items next time. And it wasn’t as pricey and I was anticipating for a tapas-style place. I’m sure I’m one of the few crazy people who didn’t love the el Diablo dessert. The cocoa and the spice were good, but I think it was a texture thing with the mousse-like chocolate square. Those flavors would make a delicious Mexican hot chocolate, though!

Meh. Visiting from Los Angeles. My friend and I were at the Starbucks tasting room a few doors down and decided to try Tango for dinner. We ordered the fundido, the chicken croquettes, bacon wrapped dates and the Spanish tortilla. Everything was just ok. They go heavy on the salt.

I haven’t been to many tapas places but the food here was awesome! The atmosphere is nice, not too fancy but not super casual. I ordered their homemade bread with a special housemade molasses butter and both were exceptional. A lot of people in the group ordered the Queso Fundido. I didn’t taste it but it looked amazing. It was a bed of cheese topped with slices of bread, slices of apples, and sausage. Everyone cleaned their plates so I imagine it was tasty. I ordered the Tres Salchichas and the dish was perfect! Every flavor blended and the egg on top was the perfect touch. Highly recommended. We also got the half carafe of sangria, it was good and decently priced.

if you come here, you’ll definitely need 2 or more people with you. this place has delicious tapas so the more the merrier and the more items you’ll get to order and sample. we got lucky there was no wait when our party of 3 arrived. we started off with the charcuterie platter and some sangria which was delicious. then proceeded next with the pork belly(a must try).he bread and spread was delicious too. the shrimp was plump with lots of flavors. and we also ordered the misto paella(make sure you put in your paella order first as it take longer for them to make). service was great. the waiter brought out diablo chocolate bites for us to try. not a dessert person but it was had a spicy good kick

Tapas and cocktails were DELICIOUS. My friends and I split over 5 small plates and it filled us up. All dishes were cooked very nicely and our waiters described each plate to us and what it was cooked with. Service though was alright– there were only 3 other tables and it took a while for the server to take our orders. Other than that, I would recommend trying this place out for tapas! There is also no age restriction, however you have to be 21+ to enter the bar area.

Stopped here for cocktails and tapas before going to Paramount for a show. Great location and warm feel while keeping its personality. Bartender friendly and helpful. mojito and another cocktail average although nice presentation. Mix review on food. Mussels were excellent as was carpaccio. However the Ceviche although fresh had no flavor except tartness and the fundido fell flat. Will visit a second time as the paella looked great and if had more time would have ordered. Had a concern over what appeared be over charge but the owner got back to me and promptly addressed it.

We dedicated a day in Seattle to photography and was lucky enough to have a friend in Seattle, who’s also a photographer, take us around the city for the day. We toured around the city and got to shoot at spots that most tourists don’t go to… thanks Chuck! Well, dinner was surely on us at wherever Chuck wanted and he chose to have tapas at Tango, a very good choice. After each having a cocktail, we ordered a few items… *Queso Fundido — Baked Spanish cheeses with herbs and spices, sausage, apples, and crostini. *Carnitas del Puerco — Chili spiced, slow-cooked pulled pork, salsa verde, tortillas. *Bistec a la Parilla — Grilled beef tenderloin, black bean pâté, Yukon Gold potatoes, truffle jus. *Honeycrisp Apple and Frisee Salad — Local honeycrisp apples, valdeon blue cheese, pomegranate, lemon vinaigrette. *Cheap Dates — Medjoohl dates wrapped in bacon, pickled red onion, balsamic reduction. All of the dishes were tasty but for me the standout was the Baked spanish cheeses. The baking of the cheese created a nice«crust» on the bottom from the ceramic baking dish, it had this chewy-dense texture on the bottom that was just super delicious. The sausages and fresh crisp apples along with the hot chesse on top of the buttery crostini was the perfect bite. Mark H’s dish was the Grilled tenderloin and it was another standout. The steak was done to a perfect mid rare and the very tender. The sliced yukon golds that steak was sitting on were perfectly done as well. The truffle jus tied it all together nicely. Tango was a nice end to a full day of site seeing and taking photos, my only regret was by the end of the meal, we were too full to try the El Diablo chocolate dessert. We’ll just have to make it point to come back.

Solid spot for happy hour, friends, date night, family, etc. The cocktails are so good, I loved the one I had with dill. Our favorite happy hour tapa was the chicken croquette — I also enjoyed the bites you can get off the regular menu for just a couple bucks a pop. El Diablo for dessert was nicely presented and had a lovely kick.

Great tapas! Happy hour was killer! They have plates for as little as $ 2! Our server was very polite and attentive. Even offered some wine samples to help make our selection. Had shrimp ceviche which would be even more amazing in the summer because it was cool and refreshing. The pork belly just melts in your mouth! Had the best wine I’ve ever tried and I’m not a big fan of Spanish wine. Will definitely be back!

Delicious food and a cozy, romantic setting. We dropped in for dinner on a Monday night and got us a booth. The lighting is nice and dim; candle on the table and a small lamp. I got the Tres Sachichas, which was amazing, and the Queso Fundido, which was good, too. The Queso was really, really filling(as our waiter warned me) so if you’re eating it on your own then don’t plan on eating much else. We also got the House Made Broa Bread which was delicious. The quince-molasses butter tasted smoky. One thing to note: You’ll get a LOT of butter compared to the amount of bread you get, so go nuts with it. Service was great. Parking is super challenging as it always is on Capitol Hill. We plan on visiting again! As I try more dishes I might update this review to a 5 star.

I always have to try a tapas place in whichever city I am in and Tango did not disappoint. It is a cozy quite atmosphere and has nooks and crannies all over to sit in. It is a bit like a maze. My only complaint is that the lighting is so low it is hard to see what you are eating. We started with a few small places such as the queso azul, which was so cheesecake like this could be offered as a dessert too. It was amazing. The pork belly was like a thick piece of bacon and crispy and fatty and appetizing. The chicken croqueta was a bit of disappointment. It was just sort of blah and it was not hot in the middle. Almost like it had either been sitting out for a while or was not cooked long enough. Our main dishes were the papas bravas and the pork tacos. The potatoes were crispy and spicy and I wanted to lick the bowl. The pork was tender and juicy and the tortillas were not even needed. We ended with the El Diablo as everyone who comes here should. There are no words to describe what is happening on the plate. From the crunchy cocoa nibs, to the tequila caramel it is a taste explosion. I wish this restaurant were in my town.

Great for: date night, cocktails and tapas, romantic sit down dinner Experience: Food is delicious. Tapas are amazing(you will order more of the«cheap dates», I promise). The service is fast and personable. I couldn’t believe how fast the food came out! There was no rush to pay or get out of there, even as they were filling up for dinner service. We went in to share a paella bowl, and ended up stuffing ourselves on 3 rounds of tapas — we couldn’t get enough. One downside: Parking is tough, but well worth it when you get there. Note: For dessert have the Espresso Tres Leches, even if you don’t think you have room for anymore — just do it, you will thank me!

I’ve always wanted to try this restaurant out, and decided to come during seattle restaurant week. It was quite disappointing overall… Although our server was wonderful, the host seemed so cold and as if he couldn’t care less that we were there. The vibe was on the romantic side, but it was rather loud. In terms of the food, I would say every single dish was just alright. The lamb was dry, the lentil soup was mediocre… I probably could just buy soup from the grocery store and would be just as happy. The stuffed peppers were probably the best thing, but the farro salad on the side was so dry and tasteless. As for the dessert, both the el diablo and tres leches were quite sickening; I was glad it was small. I probably wouldn’t come back here for anything.

The drive from Portland sucked took more than two hours more then it should have(mostly traffic part my in route stops lasted longer then they should have.) As if that wasn’t horrible enough that was after a later then planned start! Anyway finally I pull into Seattle look at the clock 4:42. 4:42! Yes! Tango Happy hour is 4:30 — 6:00! I luck into parking less then block away. I enter though their nice entry into their bar and grab a seat at the bar. I was happy to see Queso Fundido still on the menu. 8 bucks for a dish of melted Manchego and Mahon cheeses with herbs cooked until brown on top(and sides and bottom.). It is served with crostini and apples and sausage. Just as a rule, if there is melted cheese involved, I am a fan. This is one of the best cheese dishes anywhere. I slowly slip into my melted cheese coma listening to the woman next to me quiz the bartender on the ingredients of drinks(bartender stays friendly), she settles on a Lemon Drop(vodka, simple syrup and lemon)…nice music… what a great day…

My wife and I have been here numerous times. We are season ticket subscribers to ACT theater and often come here post play for tapas and dessert. We’ve tried quite a few of the plates and cannot think of any that have truly disappointed. Of course the meats, cheeses and fig tapas are stand bus and we usually just go where the mood takes us with the other choices. Needless to say, one of our favorite all time desserts is here, El Diablo. It is certainly worth a trip to enjoy a cocktail and dessert, El Diablo is that good. We did that this past Saturday, sharing an El diablo and the Empanadas. They were served with banana ice cream and stuffed with mangos. They were a bit bland and disappointing so glad we also went the Diablo. I also had a Latin Storm, a twist on the Dark and Stormy. It was wonderfully presented and a nice complement to the desserts.

While visiting Seattle, my husband and I decided to walk through Capitol Hill tapas crawl style, because we’re weird like that. This was stop number one. We started with a couple of caipirinhas. Okay, that’s not so Spanish, but so very delicious. Pinxtos! Even more flavors for my tapas crawl. We had: Piquillo relleno: Piquillos are always the bomb, and they were tasty stuffed with tuna. I wasn’t expecting this to be served cold, but it worked. Pork belly bite: Pork belly is always epic. You know how it is. Gambas picantes: OHMYGOD. Spicy shrimp + that just sweet enough coconut/corn cake. One of the best things I ate in Seattle(and I ate many things) We also had the grilled octopus. Because octopus. It was wonderfully cooked, and inventively served with the foam on top, so you have to enjoy that. Service was very good, and I wanted to stay here and order ALLOFTHETHINGS. However, our time in Seattle was limited. It was time for the tapas crawl to move on.

SOHOT. And I don’t mean the food. During a hot day it was so uncomfortable in there. So keep that in mind. If it’s hot you are going to bake. The food, FANTASTIC! We had an open table gift cert so we threw caution to the wind and in the end got 250 bucks of food and drink, so we ordered just about everything. We called ahead to start a Paella, as my 2 year old was with us and was not going to sit for an hour waiting for it to cook. They were gracious and accommodated us. GET: bread and butter, cheap dates, cheese and charcuterie plate, grilled octopus, fish salad, tuna roll thing in pepper, vegetarian paella, boozy drinks, coconut flan, diablo cake, sorbet. SKIP: fried calamari(greasy, bland). That’s it. That’s the only thing that made us say, «meh.» The service was great, very friendly. The waitress volunteered to pick the cheese and meats for the plate and did a wonderful job. If you go early it’s a great place to take a kid(as long as said kid has an adventurous palate, which mine does). Our friends who went to Spain said the food at Tango is better than anything they ate in Spain. I would definitely go back. Just not in the summer.

This place was fun. Got seated in the window corner which provided entertainment for both me and my husband(aka nobody had a view of the walls). We ordered our first round — fully prepared to order more –but due to the sizes of some of these plates we were barely able to finish what we had considered our«first round». Plates are bigger than we were expecting for sure. I guess we will have to go back to try more things. This might be 5 stars for folks who have not been to Toro Bravo in Portland… it is a solid 4 but Toro has my heart for Tapas. My favorite dish was the mushrooms — I couldn’t quite identify the unique spices which I loved because I have a pretty good palate for recognizing different tastes. We even had a nice bottle of wine and the bill was right around a hundred for two of us. The bar area looks fun to stop in for drinks/apps. Might do that next time.

First timer here, had the queso fundido, paella mixta and sangria. Sangria was a bit watered down, paella mixta eventually became really salty but queso fundido was fabulous! Great atmosphere, something I’d expect from a tapas bar/restaurant. Only sucky part is if you go in hungry, plan on waiting the 45 – 50 minutes for paella. with the wait you’re temped to order tapas, just be aware it can add up fairly quickly. If you’re looking for tapas in the city, definitely one of the places I’d go. They also had a private room next to where we were sitting, I’d say about for 10 folks, nice little separate area if you’re looking to have a birthday dinner.
