Cute little local grocery store! I’m staying at the Hyatt which is two blocks away. I wanted to stock up on some snacks and found this little gem that also makes fantastic sandwiches!
Well curated goods and great beer and wine selection.

I love this place! Their new workers are so kind and actually talk to the customers!

Driving by this grocery during lunch hour, I decided to pull over and grab lunch for the office. What a nice surprise. Part grocery and part deli, the deli counter reminded me of the ones I loved in NYC. I ordered a number of different sandwiches from the chalkboard menu.
Everyone was excited to share when I got back to the office. A lifelong fan of the Reuben, I chose that and was very pleased with my selection. The Montlake Cut and the Chicken Pesto sandwiches were all praised by my team as well. The variety of breads were all fresh and had great texture. The ample portion of meats were all very flavorful, the pepper bacon especially so.
While waiting for my order to be prepared I strolled the rest of the store. I’m sure the local residents appreciate the strategic variety of offerings that one needs from a small, in-​city grocery. And I can tell you from experience that I’ve lived in neighborhoods that lacked a gem like this. They seemed to have all the essentials one would need, and I am not just referring to the healthy variety of beers and and wine. They had a good selection of fresh foods and household items. And for a place so close the the downtown core that surprised me.
As I was checking out, I enjoyed listening to the friendly banter between the owner and was seemed to be a regular. While doing so, another apparently repeat customer walked in and the owner the asked in a friendly way if he was going to have the «same as yesterday?». I don’t know when I will find myself in the area again, but if you find yourself there, you should stop in and order the Reuben, too. Chances are good that you’ll become a regular, too.

Pretty decent local spot. $ 0.25 to use a debit card? I thought the purpose of accepting debit was a lower charge to the merchant. Also, maybe expand your deli hours? Closing the deli before 5pm??? Seems like you’re missing out on some business.
But yes, reasonable prices, good wine selection, and friendly ppl working here.

The little bro and I went there to grab snacks for PAX Prime, as we’d be spending all day watching pro League teams duke it out for the NA championship. The location is easily the best thing about Pike Grocery. It was on the way to the convention center for us, and it’s well within walking distance of many downtown hot spots. Unfortunately, that comes with a cost. literally an additional cost. Many of the items are quite expensive, and I’d never actually do my grocery shopping here. You’re better of going to a grocery store if you can, or there’s a Target just a few blocks SW. Produce was fresh and refrigerated — I love biting into a cold, crisp apple. The gentleman at the front counter doesn’t smile much, at least not at me. And he refused to sell me a single sandwich roll from his deli. It seems I received a different customer service experience than the rest of the reviewers. Maybe it was too early in the morning?

As a corner store it has everything one could ask for, including a vast assortment of beer and wine. Add the boars head deli into the picture and it’s a no-​brainer 5 stars.

Here’s the deal with the sandwiches: if you eat meat, get the Husky Club. If you don’t, get the Veg Out without cucumbers or olives.
Once you do that, in your hands will be one of the best fucking sandwiches in a city that has 3 – 4 good options at best, and easily the best one you can get on the hill. I can’t even look at fucking Other Coast anymore. Every time I pass by, it’s like walking past the gravestone of your ex that you mostly were with for the sex. But since, you’ve had better, and realize in hindsight exactly how meaningless it really was.
This sandwich is your new significant other. Go be in love.

For a corner store that offers fresh sandwiches, amazing beer and fresh food (+ cheeses) this is as good as it gets! I work nearby and eat a sandwich there weekly. The owners are wonderful people and make a point of welcoming you (and making you laugh). A good tip for those in a hurry go online and review the menu then call it in. Your sandwich will be ready within 10 minutes!

Best bodega in the neighborhood! This place has been a common place I frequent for the past year and a half and I’ll tell you why: convenient, great customer service, a wide selection of anything you might need, and dog friendly. Not just dog friendly, dog excited! My pup has always received a healthy treat, and I’ve witnessed many others treated in the same fashion.
The beer and wine selection is on point and priced reasonably. That late night hummus craving? Maybe a sandwich? They got you!
As far as convenient goes, my home is a half block away from another place that I don’t care to give business to because myself and many of my clients have been been treated poorly (yelled at for buying a single item with a $ 20).
Bottom line, this is a business you want to support and if Greg is your cashier you’re going to get a great smile and a person who goes above and beyond! But, the crew here is deserving of a tip jar.

Sandwiches are tasty, beer and wine selection is awesome, great little mini grocery by the house makes it very convenient.

You got to try the sandwiches at Pike Grocery — they were one of our favorite finds when visiting Seattle last week. Staying at the hotel next door, we picked up a veggie sandwich (I think it was called the Veg Out) and the Husky club before heading out to go hiking. After hiking 6 miles, the sandwiches were the perfect lunch. The bread was fresh and one sandwich is really the size of 2. The Veg Out came with lots of avocado which I loved and it was the perfect balance of veggies. My husband loved the Husky club. Be patient if you have to wait awhile for the sandwich — it’s worth the wait!

Great sandwiches on fresh bread using boars head brand meats and cheeses. Great selection of beers as well. I wish there were a place like this in my hood.

Glad this is on my block. They have a good selection of everyday items and a mini deli. PG is a little expensive (which is understandable considering rent in the area). While I won’t use this for weekly shopping — it will come in handy when I’m in need of something urgently. The guy working there today was friendly, even had a treat for my pooch.

I was so thrilled to find this great lil’ grocery just a hop, skip and a jump from my pad. The store is clean, organized, and offers quite a nice selection of everything from foodstuff, to essentials, to cleaning supplies, to booze, to a rockin’ full service deli. The people who work here are so friendly. Gotta dig those sammiches. Nummy.

I have lived a block away from this location for 10 years and have been dreaming of a grocery store on the site. Finally, the dream has come true! This is a wonderful market. Small, but complete. You can find virtually everything you need, from wine and beer to good quality frozen foods, Boars Head cold cuts to buy by the pound or have made into one of their delicious sandwich choices, detergent, produce, bagels, espresso drinks, etc.
The staff is friendly. The store is clean. It is in no way what we city dwellers have had to put up with in the way of markets.
I truly hope the neighborhood discovers it. If we want to have a viable market here, we need to support it.

Friendly, good hours, reasonable prices, great selection, a block away from my apartment… and YUMMY SANDWICHES!

It’s a big store in a small space, is what I’m trying to say.

I’m halfway thru a stay at the Homewood Suites for four months. What a welcome relief this Market is! Clay’s market is the only other option close to the hotel and after my last experience there (read Unilocal review!) I boycotted it. And Pikes Place Grocery just has so much very nicely packed in a small space. They even have a breakfast sandwich from their deli counter! Not to mention a lot of other great sandwich choices. The grocery selection is large enough that you can actually make a decent meal from the available items. Best of all, prices are reasonable for a convenience market.

I’m so happy that Pike Grocery is open!!! (It’s not called Pike Place Grocery, dunno who came up with that when they listed this business.)
Comfortably nested on the border between Capitol Hill and downtown, I’m in the midst of everything and yet have had slim pickin’s as far as grocery stores near my place (QFC is «near» if you’re not drunk/​exhausted/​lazy, and Clay’s is a poor excuse for a grocery).
So, I was super excited when this place started being built, because I’d finally be able to make quick club soda/​wine/​ketchup runs. Little did I know, you can get all that and a bag of chips! So to speak. This ain’t your grandma’s convenience store — they have:
— Boarshead deli meat (yessss… Blazin’ Buffalo Chicken and Black Forest Ham!)
— Odwalla
— organic milk! When’s the last time you saw that in a convenience store? Try never.
— pasta
— organic canned tomatoes
— fresh produce that looked pretty good (no City Market wilted greens here!)
— Flagship cheese from Beecher’s
— lots of Amy’s frozen meals
— boozes, including I think 4 varieties of hard cider
Yummmm thank you for not sucking and in fact being surprisingly delicious and nutritious!
