1,2,3 — 5,6,7! Michael drills the foundation of salsa in you and you’ll never not hear the 1,2,3 — 5,6,7! My boyfriend and I just finished the 5 week course and we’ve really enjoyed it. I’ve had my share of dance lessons and was mostly worried about my boyfriend not enjoying himself, but after our first class he was looking forward to all the other classes! Michael goes really slow and makes sure everyone gets it. He explains rookie mistakes beforehand to basically nip the bud before it becomes a habit. I really like that he makes us take videos of him and his partner at the end of class going over the material that day so you have a resource at home to use. He can be very humorous at times, letting us grasp that you should enjoy yourself more than anything. He goes through a lot of material and highly advised us to keep practising at home to hone what we learned that day. The Groupon was a STEAL, $ 30 for a 5 week course for the both of us? It’s so reasonable it’s almost stupid NOT to give it a try, especially if you’ve always wanted to learn salsa. The only thing was that we’re in Tacoma so we had to make the drive out to Fremont every Sunday. It’s not too bad though, and gives us a reason to explore Seattle. I really do love how vibrant Fremont is and love that the studio is there. The studio itself is snug and small, but I find it very cute. They will be moving studios very soon though, regardless, Michael is an amazing instructor and you’d be lucky to learn salsa from him.

I have dabbled in Salsa off and on for a few years, and really appreciate this studio. Michael is an incredibly talented teacher, who can break things down in steps and movements that you can practice at home. He is approachable, and honest in feedback about what you are doing well and what needs work. He teaches steps, movement, musicality and balance in a clear and thoughtful way. If you are progressing he will push and challenge you to improve. I have done Salsa series lessons as well as privates and find them all really great.

Suenos de Salsa is my go-to salsa studio! They have a great selection of classes, with both a lead and follow instructor represented at each session. Michael, the head instructor, is completely approachable, making class both fun and dynamic. Where other studios often seem to have a click-ish vibe, Suenos keeps things friendly and relaxed; an easy start for beginners, and fun for more advanced students to keep coming back. Love that they have a membership option, to take advantage of getting in on the different styles too! Definitely recommend.

I took the 5-week Salsa 1 class with my girlfriend and we had a really good time. The instructors were great, they did a really nice job of explaining and demonstrating the moves, which, as an absolute beginner, I really appreciated. A lot of material is covered over the 5 weeks, but if you can devote a few minutes each day to practicing what you’ve learned then you should have no trouble keeping up. After completing the class I’m definitely still a beginner, but I feel like I could venture out to a salsa club, have fun, and not make a fool of myself.

This place was so cheap with the groupon I have no idea how Michael even makes money off it! My bf and I signed up for the 5-week Salsa 1 class for $ 29ALTOGETHER. It was a little uncomfortable to dance with other guys at first(where do I look =S) but I got more used to it as time went on. Michael was funny and taught the class at a perfect pace. I’ve already signed up for Salsa 2. TIP: it gets hot in there. Everyone, please wear deodorant. Think of all the girls/guys who have to touch your sweat

EXCELLENT studio! Michael is a great and patient, sometimes humorous teacher. My boyfriend and I really enjoy his Salsa drop-in classes. My only complaint is that they’re not offered on days other than Thursdays right now as our schedule conflicts. I HIGHLY recommend this beautiful, small studio!

Just finished up the salsa 1 classes and I highly recommend Suenos de Salsa. I just started learning and had no experience and I felt that Michael really broke down the moves and explained everything perfectly. If you ever take a salsa class or want to get into it, this is the place to go!!!

This studio teaches proper frame and timing. Excellent for beginners because of the emphasize on connection. The owner has been on the pro circuit so his advance classes are spot on as well.

I took private lessons from Michael, and I’m very glad I did. He broke everything down into its simplest, most fundamental forms, which made it very easy for me to understand. He uses multiple media — from music(obviously) to mirrors to a whiteboard to dry-erase marker on the floor(!!). He is a gifted dance instructor. If you want to learn salsa, do yourself a favor and come here first.

Outstanding instructors that are truly passionate about what they do. I came in not really knowing anything about dance and am now feeling confident in my ability to at least put a few moves together. I would highly recommend this studio.

I’ve taken a lot of salsa lessons all over Seattle and Suenos de Salsa is my favorite place. Michael makes classes really fun and he is great to be around. You’ll learn salsa steps that you can take to the dance floor and use with anyone. But even more, you’ll learn authentic salsa styling and how to look good. Folks in the classes have a fun time and Michael makes everyone feel welcome!

If you ever consider taking a Salsa lesson, Suenos de Salsa is the one! Michael is an excellent instructor and very welcoming. Regardless what level you are, you will have fun learning and truly feel the love for salsa! I went to Suenos de Salsa for drop in class(by myself), immediately I felt I was very welcomed and was able to relax, enjoyed myself! How cool is that?! I visited Suenos’ website and read history/recommended reading. It tells a lot why this place is full of positive energy and people are just keep coming back!!! Love for dance… that exists in this place. Very special You should come to this place if you are looking for some sheer joy and love for dance! Practice, practice!!! Have fun!!!

AWESOMEAWESOMEAWESOME class! You leave in 5 weeks feeling confident in your abilities no matter what you previous experience. You have the opportunity to dance with different partners which was great. Can’t wait to take the salsa two class! Best buy ever!

My husband and I have taken a number of partner-dancing lessons together, and Michael’s classes are the best we’ve had. First of all, he makes the class fun and is very welcoming. Next, he teaches the important fundamentals of styling that we haven’t gotten anywhere else. Even a beginner at salsa(like me) can look good dancing pretty quickly just by knowing how to move. My husband took five years of salsa before he met me, and he says he’s learned more in a few weeks with Michael than he learned in all the lessons he took before.

I’ve been taking classes there a bit over two months and every time class ends, I look forward to the next week. The instructor, Michael, and all his assistants are all very fun and helpful. Music is great. Even if you’re not much of a dancer, you will be able to follow his cues. The only downside is that during game nights, it’s really difficult to find parking. The studio is a bit small, and it gets overcrowded when there’s a lot of students that show up in class. Otherwise, I definitely recommend suenos de salsa.

I have taken a variety of salsa lessons over the last 10 years. Michael’s ability to teach musicality and rhythm makes it a pleasure and easy to learn. He is the best instructor I have found. The classes have great energy with friendly people. I can’t recommend this studio highly enough.

I came to Suenos de Salsa after a friend convinced me to give salsa a shot. Boy, am I glad I did! Michael is a very welcoming and excellent instructor, I highly, highly recommend taking private lessons with him. Not only are the rates reasonable when compared to other instructors in Seattle but he has a fantastic method of breaking down the technique work required. I’ve also taken the beginner salsa class and now the intermediate class. So far the classes have been, for the most part, very balanced and rewarding. The combination of learning the moves in class and strengthening technique in private lessons has helped my growth tremendously. I highly recommend checking it out!

We love dancing with Michael at Suenos de Salsa! It is a very fun but challenging class. Every class we learn something new, are inspired to practice outside of class and can’t wait until next week’s session. We highly recommend taking salsa lessons here. Sara & Juan

Michael is a talented teacher and dancer. He understands how different people learn and teaches to them. He’s clear, easy to understand, professional and patient. His classes are always full of laughter and fun. He doesn’t over fill his classes so he has the time to give out some individual help during class. Michaels private lessons I find are the best value, great way to learn all the fun moves quickly. Thanks Michael, I appreciate you and love your school Richard
