The center gives you all the info you need for apartments, restaurants and other businesses in SLU to make an informed decision to either live or work there or just satisfy curiosity.
Get the SLU Discount Card which will get you discounts, buy one/​get one or other perks from participating companies in the neighborhood. You can simply ask the business or look up specials on the discovery center’s website. I contacted them and requested 500 of these cards which they shipped to me at no cost. I used them to pass out to all of my staff who work in SLU.
Great people work here who are happy to answer any questions that you may have.
SLU is known for horrid parking and there isn’t any at this location. There are paid lots a couple blocks away.

This place has interesting local events, such as the South Lake Union Block party (where you had to buy tickets for SAMPLES of food. Gah!) and the Cider Summit (where I unintentionally got smashed on tasty ciders). I’ve only attended these two events, and not the discovery section.
One thing that would be nice at their events is a little more shade — the open space in back is nice, but you’d be amazed at how hot and sunburnt you can get, even in cloudy Seattle, when you’re queued for something interesting and can’t get into some shade.

We came for a Unilocal event that toured us around the local restaurants. The employees were pleasant and informative. A nice place, well-​laid out with lots to see. If you’re looking to relocate to the area, definitely check it out. Look for street parking and avoid the charge to park in their lot.

South Pasadena, CA
Wow! This place was sooo cool! It turned into an HGTV dream museum for me. You can pick floor plans, amenities, and really see yourself in a super awesome modern apartment. I really loved seeing the whole SLU area on the mini build out. It was awesome! I really love what they are doing to this part of town and the Discovery Center is a perfect stage to show you the BIG picture!
