This was my first stop on my search for a new queen size mattress(check out my Everrest review). I was on a budget and the banner outside proclaimed they were having a big sale. I was pretty put off when I saw the $ 2,000 price tags on the beds near the entrance of the store. Did I mention budget? After milling around, we stumbled upon the mattresses that were on sale. They didn’t even bother to put them on a bed and instead were just laying on the floor, looking sad and defeated. I didn’t exactly want to get down on the floor to try them out, but just by looking at them, I could tell that even though it’d be a *new* mattress, it certainly wouldn’t be an upgrade from my current one. The sales man greeted us, but didn’t devote any time to helping us once he found out I was still in the decision making process. If you have a large disposable income, this may be worth a stop. Otherwise, I’d keep on driving.

I’ve been searching for a reasonably priced mattress set for a few months and had driven by Sleep 101 quite a few times but never had a chance to stop. .. until Sunday. We were the only customers when we entered the store and were greeted by the salesman. Wandered around for a few minutes looking at the beds — and the prices — when he approached us and asked what we were looking for. After telling him my specifications he tried to steer me towards the tempur-pedic mattress(not one of the types of mattress I had mentioned). When I said no, that I’ve slept on a tempur-pedic before and found them too hot(and I’m a cold sleeper) he said — and I quote — «No you didn’t.» I immediately turned to the friend and said«You ready to go?» Less than an hour later I purchased a mattress set from another company. Needless to say — the way NOT to make a sale is to tell a customer how they do or don’t think or feel about a product.

Pretty nice selection of mattresses from: a private label company, Sealy, and Tempur-pedic. The latter had a $ 5K version that was adjustable(think Kraft-matic or hospital bed) and had built-in foot and neck vibrating massagers: Zowie. I did fall in love with a Tempur-Pedic pillow, but the mattresses gave me the creeps. Reasonably priced, delivered same /next day in many cases, and a friendly staffer. There was a 101 day evaluation period on some of the mattresses(single trade in for equal or higher value mattress). Note: There were no couches or sleeper sofas in the place; the stock seems to have changed since the first review was written.

My fiancé and I fell in love with a sleek art-deco couch that was displayed on the sidewalk. When we finally visited a few weeks later to purchase it, the salesperson was very down to earth, helpful, and gave us space to deliberate. He even suggested a great Mediterranean place to eat at while our credit application went through. Speaking of credit, they had an awesome one year same-as-cash offer that I snatched up. I had purchased my mattress set at another place and they only had a six month offer… and it was the from same credit company. Huh? We purchased the sofa on a Sunday afternoon and the salesperson delivered it himself the next evening! Fast, fair, and excellent. Highly recommended.
