This is a hidden jewel. Wish I would have found this place sooner. They have weekend live bands and Monday night trivia. I will try and hit this tavern every time I visit Seattle and can’t wait to return.

This is hands down one of my favorite spots in the city. A hidden gem. I walked past this place for years, but I never went in because I thought it was a bar, but its a family place. Me and my boyfriend came in for the first time while watching my parents house. So f****n awesome. The bartender and boss was on shift and they let us stay til the very end even though they werent busy and we got some great local beers. We went in for brunch because they give you 10% off if you were in the night before, and had amazing food. They smoke all their meats, and make almost every single thing in house. They definitely have a passion for quality food and beer, so if you enjoy food then this is the place to be. But they also have great events that are really cool to watch and or be a part of. We came in on an open mic and were blown away by all the fantastic artists who preformed individually and ended up collaborating spotaneously towards the end. It was so cool. Also, pun nights are hilarious. We will come back forever. The best!

They have a BLAT. A bacon lettuce avocado tomato sandwich. Oh my god, that BLAT. Jesus Christ. What is that BLAT made from? The tears of angels? Bread baked by Osiris himself? ANDTHATBACON. Their bacon do not %$*& around. So succulent. So thick. So… bacon. Order the BLAT, enjoy the music if there is any. ADDENDUM: the bartender told us they smoke the bacon themselves, and do other similar things to meats they serve here. Dear God.

This is one of my absolute favorite spots in the city! The Skylark is just a diamond in the rough. The owner, Matt, makes damn near everything he can in house for his food menu, and it really shines. I have never met someone who puts so much genuine effort into making the food he puts out mouthwatering. The specials here are to die for, always fresh and super creative. For the quality, there is no way you can beat the price at any other bar/restaurant. Their drinks are delicious and well priced, and they have a great rotating draft and specialty cocktails. But one of the best things about this place is that, since becoming a regular customer, I have seen many improvements made to the place(ie: electronic menus, more staff, etc) without any changes in the prices or quality of service. Quality food and beverage CAN be done affordably! Thanks, Skylark! See you again very soon!

Awesome spot in an area with not much going on! New owner is fantastic and puts a lot of pride into all aspects of this joint. FOOD: A ton of the items made from scratch and great menu items at a good price. DRINK: from scratch ginger mix for their ginger beer, and a good assortment of booze. A VERY quality beer list. Not even the typical ‘craft’ beers you see at bars. These guys pride themselves on beer. MUSIC: as a musician who played here, it was nice to see a venue with a sound guy who was friendly and knew what he was doing. Quality sound here AND bands to match. Very, very impressed w the new skylark!

I went here for the first time with friends yesterday, and my first thought was why didn’t I get here sooner! The Skylark just became a regular place for me. We went for happy hour, and I thought the décor was super fun. I also liked the general layout, and I liked how clean the bathrooms were. I liked the beer selection, and the service was quick and friendly. They also had some cool HH drink specials to offer. However, all of this pales in comparison to the food. OMG!!! This is some amazing food at the Skylark. The chicken tacos!!! The grilled cheese!!! The burger!!! The perfectly crisp tater tots! The smells are so good, they should charge! Their Churros are the best I have ever had. I can’t wait to come back here, especially to experience some of their cool events. This place rocks.

We stopped by the Skylark to join a friend for some drinks. I wanted to like the place, it has a nice ambiance and appears to be a great setup for live bands. We sat near the front window, where I noticed a heavy campfire smell. It gradually got stronger and stronger until my eyes were watering and my head hurt. It was worse than sitting right next to a smoky campfire. We went home after just one drink, and I took some advils and went to bed hoping to sleep off the headache. The next morning, I woke up to campfire-smelling-hair, a splitting headache, and totally clogged sinuses. Two days, two showers, and two neti-pots later, I’m still feeling awful! Campfires never make me feel this bad. Makes me wonder: what’s in that smoke? Hopefully it was a temporary issue with the ventilation system. A friend’s band is playing at the Skylark soon, and as much as I want to go, I’m not sure I want to subject myself to that experience again.

Never a bad meal or experience here! If you haven’t stopped by, get in here! Awesome menu selections that are price competitive but probably better quality and yum factor than nearby options Good vibes via some cool local owners. Get some Skylark in your life and thank me later!

Very cool place! It’s definitely a hang out for techie types and weaboos… Love coming here for trivia Monday nights at 7:30 tho!!! Cocktails are crazy expensive in my opinion($ 10) but most of them are pretty good. I DONOT recommend getting the Skylark Daiquiri, it has lemongrass liqueur and tastes like Windex! But if you stay away from that, you’ll probably love the place.

We came here for brunch on a Saturday morning and were sadly disappointed. The menu sounded delish, but what we ended up with was cold, tasteless and pretty much a waste of $ 30. The only redeeming quality of this restaurant was the coffee. I got the breakfast tacos with bacon, tater tots, avocado, eggs and unmelted cheese. My boyfriend got the biscuits n gravy. Both dishes were subpar. Cold breakfast tacos eeewwwwww! Won’t be going back here for breakfast ever. If you are a breakfast enthusiast, avoid this place all together. Save yourself the time and money.

We went with out of town guests, 6+ a baby, and they hardly paid us any attention. Some vague comment about having to wait until two tables finished but one table had just been served. They had two 4 tops free and wouldn’t accomdate us. Can’t even review the food, service was so bad and that always trump good food. Shame.

The food here is fantastic! They smoke their meats and the food is made from scratch. The eggs Benedict are some of the best I’ve ever had(try them with the thick cut bacon). Not fancy, great for breakfast on the weekends(never crowded). The pastrami sandwich is great too!

Had a late new years day breakfast here with my wife. It’s a bar with tables, and for some reason there were more than a few young kids in there when we went, which I thought was really strange. The service took a little long but I just think it was the time of day, we came a little late and they were our of a few sauces so I feel like my food may not have had the full punch. That being said, overall the food was good even without the sauce and the atmosphere was cool. I would defenitely like to come back and give this place another shot, I think there is tons of potential here.

I’ve only been here once, so take this review with that grain of salt. But my friends and I just grabbed a couple burgers from Skylark and I gotta say, I am loving this place. Really nice staff, good food — burgers are a good size, bacon was perfectly crispy, not greasy. The Skylark burger is a pile of great, smoky pastrami on top of a burger with onions, and it was awesome. Skylark managed to hit this happy medium of serving a delicious, indulgent meal without simply being a greasy spoon. They know what they’re doing. I will be back!!!

I love this neighborhood bar. It has an old-school Seattle vibe that is getting harder and harder to find these days. There is a good variety of micros on tap, but it seems that I never get farther than the IPA’s. The Skylark is a great place to stop by for a beer, but is also a good place to hear live music. I appreciate the the owner’s support of local music, and that he provides a place for the kids from next door(Mode Music) to perform at All Ages Open Mike Sundays.

We’ve only ventured here for brunch and have never been disappointed. From the chicken fried steaks to the traditional breakfast options– everything has been delicious! If you’re looking for super healthy though– this isn’t for you. This is definitely more diner-style brunch. The service has always been good. I’m surprised it isn’t more crowded, but maybe it’s because the location is tucked away near the bridge! It looks like it would be a really cool venue at night too! We always see lines outside!

Smoked Brisket Chili was amazing! Just enough smokiness and kick that made this bowl of chili our new favorite. Finished it off with their Churros. Their Homemade Ginger Beer is something that you will become a fan of. Overall a great night filled with good food and great music. Will be coming again!

First time at this place to support local band and listen to good music. Ambiance was nice — Art on the walls from local artists. Food menu was interesting but it was hit or miss for our group: pickled green beans was good but batter was undercooked, a friend had one bite of corndog and he found the batter was undercooked(maybe avoid battered food next time?), a couple of friends said the Vietnamese sandwich and pulled pork were good(but after having the undercooked batter I couldn’t make myself taste the other food anymore). I’m usually not a beer drinker but had the stout and that was REALLY good. I would come back here because of the music and art… and maybe beer, but I’d make sure I eat somewhere else first.

I love this place. They have really cool live music. They host several is my friends bands regularly. Their breakfast is so good. I’m hesitant to say this because there’s usual no line, super quick service and good coffee. Buncha homemade stuff on the menu-tacos n stuff. I like to bring my boy there too, cartoons on the big screen

Found this gem last week and have been in 3 times since then– mostly because the owner is super nice but also because the food is delicious for the price and it’s 3 minutes away. Drinks: –Maybe not the most extensive list of draught beers but the selection is tasteful(I’ve had 3 of their IPAs and can’t complain) –I’m a fan of their Tequila toddy, especially as it gets colder Food: –as other reviews have mentioned, everything is made from scratch and you can sense the love with each bite –I’ve made an effort to stop eating red and white meat and I haven’t had any issues with the selection at Skylark –My faves: Tofu, veggie burger with avocado and fried egg, tots! –also notable: Mac n Cheese, other burgers, churros I am determined to try their brunch– but with the frequency we have been going to Skylark, I’m sure I’ll have a brunch update in a week Also– there are several days when live music is played. We’ve never had a chance to stay late enough to enjoy the music… Because we are old and go to bed early– but don’t let that stop you from checking it out **update– I have tried their brunch, and it is amazing. The hollandaise sauce is phenomenal– rich, but man it’s good! My bf had the biscuits and gravy– his usual at every breakfast place we go to. He even commented that it’s the best he has had in a long time. There’s not to much to say against this place– Food is delicious and fair priced, the people are super friendly, and they have a good selection of beer. Oh and there’s parking!

This is my favorite spot to grab a beer after work. The tap selection is on point and the kitchen serves tasty comfort food(the fried green beans are awesome.) Zach and Roger have always been gracious hosts and I’ll keep coming back as long as the doors are open. Thanks, Skylark!

We popped in here for the PUNdamonium night. We live in the neighborhood but had never been before, so were pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was super friendly and accommodating as we requested additional seating for friends. My husband got the grilled cheese sandwich — and it was amazing. There was cheese grilled on the outside with basil on the inside. It was a great little find in West Seattle for a casual night out!

The new owners have completely turned a dive bar into my new favorite place!!! Love the obviously thoughtful menu that is ever changing and the fact that its an(awesome) bar with great food plus a music venue AND art space is perfect for the west. Love it.

Horrible service on a Sunday. Our disgruntled bearded server actually yelled back at me when I asked him about the status of drink order 20 minutes after I had given it to him. Then when I went to the bar 10 mins later to just cancel. They still charged us for it on our bill later. And the food was not good, we all did pancake breakfast, half of the tables’ were raw inside. But we didnt say anything to the server because beardy was being a jerk, and we didnt want to deal with him, and cut our loss. After several years and several events here, we’ll go elsewhere for future events and to book meetups. Skylark is not what it used to be. We won’t be back.

Here for the first time for happy hour. The food is great — maybe not gastropub but solid, thoughtful made from scratch pub food with just the right amount of imagination. The in house smoked meats are wonderful — the pork taco special was amazing. Deep fried pickles wonderful and happened to arrive when the soup du jour changed — one Thai inspired and the other Korean inspired — both great. Beer selection also original. Great place — we’ll be back!

This place may become a new favorite due to combo of really good food and cool music vibe. Fun line up of open mic, karaōke, trivia night, etc in all-ages venue. Will definitely be back with food and music loving friends.

How can I express the amazingness that is The Skylark? First, they have gluten free foods — lots of them. Next, they smoke their own meats(which they were doing when I was there on Saturday night and it smelled really good). They have lots of comfort food items on the menu, too. They have many, many non-alcohol drinks(RC Cola!!!) and many, many craft beers, wines, etc. But wait! There’s more! They have live music! They have other fun events! I heard a most amazing evening of live music by Portland band Blind Lovejoy, Seattle bands Carlz Barkley and Sporting Goods. PS, if you love punk and grunge, this is the place for you… the walls are decorated with photos by the renowned Lance Mercer. You can bring kids here to eat, too!

Was my first time at this place. If their Mac n’ Cheese is anything like their bacon burger, I’ll be back regularly if it isn’t for the live music. The burger was very good but the bacon made it. They cure and make it on site. I’m a bit of a stickler on hand sanitation so when I saw a server sneeze many times in his hand I got worried. Moments after someone ordered something and the man quickly went to wash his hands with soap and water. I must mention the staff are extremely friendly. Minus some seemingly crazy«out of towner» trying to find out my name and whereI live, I had a great time.

This place is so strange… Yet exciting! I came for brunch on a random Saturday after volunteering on the Park and Rec trail building project(whoop whoop)! Mimosas were on top of their game and the breakfast was exciting with funny names and quirky ingredients. The server was all right, friendly enough, but seemed more attentive to his friends’ table, but I get it! Friends are amazing! The breakfast food is so good!!! The benny with bacon made my morning and boyfriend tried the huevos rancheros. We both walked away happy and satisfied! The building itself is very interesting, dim light and fun decorations! Apparently, it is a music venue too! Awesome! Parking is troublesome though! Happy hour 4−7p every day! HH menu includes $ 1 off draft beer and $ 3 tater tots!
