Great Karaōke, disappointingly civil staff, and gregarious fellow Unilocalers make me happy. Plus, beer.

Nice to meet all the new and old Unilocalers! And thanks to the staff at the Baranof for a great night! Bad karaōke rules… lol ;-)

Holy Macaroni! A disclaimer for anyone who decides to patron the Baranof for a night of boozin’: One drink equals a double(or a triple) that most other places serve. I had three, and by the end of the night, I was feeling it. I’m looking at Ron’s Karaōke shots of me… wow… embarrassing. I was pretty wasted and obviously wincing in pain at my sore throat. I concur with Riss: The sound system at the Baranof Karaōke leaves something to be desired. I couldn’t even hear myself! We left a little early because we were hungry, so sorry if i missed anyone! Overall, I was glad I came out to see everyone, and once again, ended up making a fool out of myself for my fellow Unilocalers.(At the Pley event, it was my dancing. This time it was my singing… sorry guys! You make me too comfortable!)

The best thing that can happen to a person is to walk into a room and everyone cheers and screams their name. Immediately I knew this was going to be an awesome evening. I love you all. Great strong drinks a-flowing, food a-cooking, laughs a-… laughing? Times at the Baranof are never boring, and with you all, it’s definitely even more of a blast. Karaōke, new faces, sweet(cheap) drinks, and drunken Unilocalers. I cannot wait for the next SPHOCHH! We certainly kicked that sobriety’s ass!

Had a rockin time like always, but I’m only giving it 4 stars due to the lack of Unilocalers hanging out after hours and people not texting me about the next party stop. For Shame! The LIIT calmed me down though. Actually, I pretty much forgot everything before my second sip as the alcohol quickly snuffed out a shocking number of brain cells. Maybe next time I’ll have *two* drinks at the Baranof!

I almost didn’t muster the bollocks to come to my first Unilocal event here. I figured i’d get a few«wtf» stares and then have to resort to walking around in circles a few times before retreating home in quiet defeat. Not so! Moments after i slunk inside the Baranof’s dark bordello, i was greeted my people i only knew as a thumbnail picture and a first name with a last initial. And some of them even recognized me from my posts! That was probably the coolest feeling ever. Very friendly people, all down to have a good time, and no flashbacks to clique-y high school nightmares. Thanks, you guys! I had to get out of there due to an obnoxiously persistent craving for sushi. I tried to find Moshi Moshi after several suggestions to try it, but alas, i never found the damn place. I am kicking myself for not hanging out longer. :( *joy

I loved the sign welcoming us Unilocalers to the fray and the bartender ladies, bless their hearts, for putting up with us constantly being in their way. «Make a path!» You ladies are gems. Drunk Unilocalers, karaōke, boobs, cheap beer, and an excellent discussion with Riss J. and Dan T. about sex, mirrors, and spread ass cheeks. It doesn’t get better than that, folks.
loved the dancing loved the singing loved the strong drinks that led to the dancing and singing great job matt! great event! ps. major kudos to the staff. i wish more places had bartenders like them. they are fantastic!!!

WOW! I haven’t had a stiff drink like the Baranof in a LONG time. I was warned by the fellow Unilocalers, did I listen or do I ever? OFCOURSENOT. I took a deep long sip of my Skyy n’ 7 and OMG! WHAMM-O! When Matt R. got a Long Island Ice Tea(warned by Riss 1st, again do I listen?), I knew I had to get ONE! OMG. Just try one and find out. =) Met with all — masters, newbies, inbetweens and Randy F. from Tempe, AZ — Unilocalers! I pulled my friend out to the Baranof who had introduce me to Unilocal!I had sang couple songs and ate good food. Good times. Thank you MATT for setting up the event and the lovely VY and awesome bartenders for taking care of us Unilocalers! I love the welcome banner! =) Definately a MUSTGO! =)

Wow — what a great way to end my trip to Seattle. As mentioned, the drinks were deadly, yet cheap and the food was decent for bar food. The people though were what the night was about, and it was a great mix of personalities. I even popped my karaōke cherry despite the sonic torture that everyone had to endure :) Thanks Unilocal for another fun night!

There were signs welcome us Unilocalers. There were strong drinks. There were fun people — even one from out of town! There was karaōke. There was dancing. It was great.

I showed up late, I know, but I kinda liked it this way. I got to see all my fellow Unilocalers highly inebriated way before I even had one drink, now that’s a first! I also got to meet some new faces, enjoyed some really, really bad karaōke, and of course a beer and a lime green jello shot for good measure. Now if i could only figure out a way to convince my boyfriend that going home is a good thing at the end of the night, I guess Unilocal functions are just that much fun!

Great turnout for a very fun event. We had an AZ visitor(Randy), several«first Unilocal event attendees»(Joy & Randy), and a slew of non-Yelpers. Still not as impressive as when two people came all the way from Fargo, ND to attend last year, but it was excellent. A good, very very sublimely buzzed time was had by all. Those drinks are just as strong as I remember them(or don’t remember them, as the case may be). Thanks to the Baranof staff, especially Vy, for keeping the drinks and food coming steady all night long. For those of you that left before karaōke, you missed out on the definitive rendition of «I Believe I Can Fly.» Well, I wouldn’t say you missed it. That dude wasn’t just tone deaf, he was basically the Helen Keller of tone!

We’re a sentimental and traditional bunch of drunks, aren’t we? Once upon a time, the Baranoff knew not of this thing called« Unilocal», or of what the meaning of «SHPOC» was. A time came when the Baranoff bristled under the weight of carrying the SHPOCHH upon it’s back. Oh, they knew of ‘us’, now, but were unsure we were all that welcome into their world. Now, like road weary travelers, when Unilocal descends upon the Baranoff, she answers with love: Belly up to the bar! Welcome Welcome Home. Welcome home indeed. Thanks so much to Matt for carrying the torch of tradition, and to Vy and all the Baranoff staff for making us all welcome and very… very…very drunk.
