Probably okay for fries and a burger. But forget about the Friday«Prime Rib.» Prime Rib Image here:

Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Ordered the prime rib special, surf n turf, and buffalo wings. All the food that came out was not even warm, it was at room temperature. Shocker, we informed our waitress and she said that medium rare steak is suppose to be cold. Never coming back. Ever.

So, two stars for this place serving pies and being open late. Minus three stars for serving pretty terrible pie, and having less-than-stellar service. It took a while to even get water(which we had to ask for) – even longer to get our pie orders taken – and just as long to actually get the pies. We spent about an hour from walking in the doors, to walking out the doors. All we ordered was pie. 4 slices of pie. An hour. No, the restaurant was not busy. There were maybe 4 tables occupied in the whole place.

The only place to get a chocolate malt after 10pm. Fish n chips: freezer burned. Keep coming back to give them a second chance and being called by other stuff that looks good. Burgers: can’t get them rare, but otherwise delicious. Go for the ciabatta roll, they make it like garlic bread. Fries: hot, crispy, not soggy, not limp, not that gross brown color of badly done DIY fries. Ranch: the good stuff. Not the greasy kind that feels like petrol fumes behind the eyes, but the creamy stuff that’s a gift from the gods. Hoping to catch the prime rib one of these days! Service: top notch, at least the late night crew always has been. A little slow at times from being understaffed, but that’s not the servers’ fault.

This review is a bit late! I took my kids out to eat the other night(alone… EEEEEK!) and the lady who ended up being our server promptly sat us down and got my kids orders started so that they got theirs quickly. She was so freaking sweet! She conversed with my children and treated them with respect versus treating them like a nuisance. She was quick with drink refills and was always available when I needed her. I really liked her problem solving skills too. When I ordered my food, it was shown with the garlic herb fries, so that is what I expected when I ordered them but I didn’t realize you probably have to request it that way and they must have just been advertising for their new fries. So when I got plain fries, I asked if I could get a side of the garlic herb powder stuff so I can just put it on my fries and she said she didn’t think she could do that but she offered a side of Parmesan cheese instead, which I was more than satisfied with. She was just so darn nice and I will be back just for her! Shari’s is lucky to have somebody like her working for them.

If I could give zero stars I would. Some things with time does not get better. Last minute late night meal as well drove by on Aurora that was still open… BIG mistake… Whatever you order, Do not get the Picnic 1lb Ribs! It came out barely warmed and the corn bread was hard, almost stale and was definitely reheated in the microwave. Pretty sure the whole meal was heated in the microwave since in came out in less that 10 mins. Mushy oily and no flavor. Chicken and waffles didn’t fare any better. How can you mess up waffles?! It was chewy as in reheated?! Ugh! Couple bites and we were gone, totally disgusted and out $ 28 dollars to boot! Never again… sadly Denny’s would have been better and that’s pretty sad…

I come to this location often and every time I have been there this Hispanic lady has always been nice and gives us good service. Tonight I decided to go after work for dinner and this white lady was rude and LAZY!!! HORRIBLE service, she kept texting! I would fire here immediately. I telling her what I wanted to eat and she kept interrupting me!!! I would FIREHERASAP!

Their pie is good, the parking is fine, and the steak was cooked okay. The waitress was a bit absent and overly salty, but then, you arent expecting stellar service from a Shari’s. So, I’d say I got pretty much what was expected. The prices are fine and the bathrooms seemed clean enough. Our table was sticky and the floor was pretty gross, but, again; this is Shari’s. It’s pretty much just Denny’s with pie.

I was in the area running an errand and needed to stop for food. This is a review for my first visit. Upon entering, it took some time to be seated. The place was not busy at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. I am uncertain where all the staff were. Once I was seated, I was greeted by a very nice waitress. She was quite attentive and frequently stopped at my table. I ordered the grilled chicken burchetta. They were nice enough to substitute the vegetables for a side salad. I was impressed that the chicken breast was actually real and was not rib meat processed. The dish was quite good. I ordered carrot cake for dessert that was delicious. At the end of my visit; the service was good, my entrée and the dessert were delicious and the 2 single serve bottles of sparkling wine was a nice pairing, all for less than $ 30! The next time I am in the area, I am stopping for a meal.

The food is fine, exactly what you’d expect from a chain diner type place. Service could improve, they are never friendly toward me and never offered/mentioned the rewards card. I had to find out after my 3rd or 4th trip and saw my waitress offering one to another table. I think I’m a pretty low-maintenance customer, and I tip well — so I don’t get why I barely get looked in the eye at this place. I’m not really a fan of the pies, I recommend Snohomish Pie Co. in Mountlake Terrace if that’s what you’re looking for. My boyfriend and I are both busy 20-somethings with no kids, who eat out a lot. They could have more of our business if they stepped up their service.

Late night with the family after we finish a movie. We decide Sharis, because everyone loves pie! Big mistake as we would find out. It was about 12:30 when we showed up. Waited about ten minutes to be seated, and then seated to an EXTREMELY rushed waitress who didn’t even take proper drink orders. She came back and told us to move our menus out of the way for her. No please, no excuse me, just move. When taking food orders, about 20 minutes later, Michelle was the same way. Rushed, and didn’t get everything correct. She kept cutting my family off and being short. My mother attributed it to just being efficient. Yes, efficient if we went to a drive thru. She ended up forgetting literally half my dinner. I ordered a dinner pot roast. Michelle, our waitress, literally brought me just the entrée plate, no dinner roll or soup/salad. Not even asking me. My mother politely asked if it came with a roll, and Michelle said yes! And came back with one. We figured she might remember the missing soup/salad but she never did. I decided to just talk with the manager when we paid at the register. So we did. I asked«Does the dinner pot roast come with a soup or salad?» The manager said it can if you want. Well. Does that mean it’s included in the price I paid? It is. But no one asked? I’ll talk to her about that. Nothing was adjusted on my bill. Sorry Shari’s, I wanted to buy pies upon pies. But I didn’t really feel comfortable with those employees.

Went there for lunch on Saturday. Super convenient parking, no bugs crowds so we were sitting right away. The waitress was very friendly and took our orders as soon as we were ready. The food took a lot longer than expected, we had a spinach avocado chicken salad and a steak sandwich. The sandwich tasted amazing! Meat was super tender and the dipping sauce went great with it. It comes with some tater totes that was crispy and hot :) The salad was more so so… the chicken tasted kind of bland and wasn’t tender at all. The color of the sauce is looks kind of unappealing. I would go back because I really want to try some of their pies!

Came here at 3:39am. As soon as i walked in there were two men sleeping at a table. Food half way eaten. It was very obvious and clear that they were sleeping. I get to a table and see another man sleeping at a table with his laptop on. No food or drinks on his table. I asked for coffee and once i got it i noticed there was hair in the cup. I did not ask for another cup and just left it alone. The food was not good. Hashbrowns were browned but the inside was simi warm. I will not be going to another Sharis again.

Upon arrival, I almost did not go in because there was so much trash in the parking lot. Eager to try a new place, I found a spot far from the main entrance where there was less trash to walk over. When I entered the establishment, I was greeted by a hostess who did not look up to greet me, but merely asked me how many were in my party. I took note that the inside of the restaurant was much cleaner than the outside. Very quickly after I was seated, a very pleasant waiter came to serve me. He had a smile on his face and did not try to engage me in small talk about the details of my life. When I asked for recommendations, he was quick to offer suggestions and leave me be while I made my decision. The food arrived in about five minutes. I ordered the spinach omelette(egg beaters) with hash browns and toast, and decaf coffee. The portions were generous and food was quite good. The coffee was average, but they brought me a small thermos instead of just a cup, which is good because my chief complaint at restaurants is not getting my drinks refilled. All-in-all, this was an average diner experience. It would have been better if I did not have to overcome my revulsion at the parking lot and if the hostess had been friendlier. The food and latter service made it worth while, though.

Shari’s is a chain similar to Denny’s and IHOP. They are open 24 hours, have cheap, easy diner food and it’s not the cleanest establishment. With few choices of restaurants open 24 hours in Seattle, Shari’s is better than fast food if you want to grab something to eat after 10PM. The portions are generous. The food was OK, nothing great but not bad. The service wasn’t good. I had to flag down the waiter to get a refill on my water a couple times. We had to ask for ketchup vs. it being offered to us. The waiter was very into a group of kids that came in that were in the same age group he is, and he basically forgot we were there. We had to ask someone else for the check. While I was here with my friend, we heard some dishes smash. We were seated next to a server station that had seen better days. It was totally destroyed. The counters were a mess. Dishes were piled high. The floor was disgusting throughout the place like it hadn’t been vacuumed in days. Although the food’s OK, there are places like 13 Coins that are still open at night that are in better neighborhoods with much better food, cleanliness and service. Food: 3 Service: 2 Parking: 4 Ambiance: 1

Came here with a party of about 20 with my UW club members after ice-skating. –1 Star: First time here– ordered the most familiar item on their menu to me: chicken penne alfredo. The pasta sauce was watery and the taste was bland. If compared to Applebee’s– I’d give them a 10 whereas here a 1… would not order it again. –2 Star: Since we were a big party, management decided to divide all of us and seat us at separate times. We were ok knowing the booths can only fit about 8 people. MYMAINCONCERN here though, OTHER groups 6 – 8 came and they seated them fine. I was second 7 ppl group that needed to be seated and the customers that arrived after us had a pick first. There seems to be a communication problem… I thought but it happened AGAIN. So two 7 – 8 ppl groups went ahead. As a cultural club part of UW we were a bit offended. I personally won’t be going there again. I WILL do my best to tell my club officers to choose a different restaurant.

Shari’s is a lesson on managing expectations. It’s basically a Denny’s. With free pie, which is the only reason I let my hubs drag me here consistently. The free pie is totally worth the mid week trip. Wednesday night will often find me studying the somewhat limited menu. Here’s some highlights: Favorite sandwich: club sandwich and tots is pretty good. Favorite dinner sized salad: Northwest steak salad beats the Tuscan chicken salad hands down. The last Tuscan chicken salad I had was drenched in dressing. Gross. The nachos are good, I don’t order them, since Shari’s has sadistically placed all calorie content on the menu, I snuck some of the hubs nachos though, and was surprised by how spicy the pork was, yum! Total nacho envy! The kids like the menu, lots of fried stuff though, but they do have grapes or applesauce as an option. The kids Mac and cheese is just Kraft. It’s a pet peeve of mine when restaurants charge $ 5 for boxed Mac and cheese and act like they’re doing you a favor serving your kid nasty cheese powder. It takes the exact same time to make it from scratch, smh. There was a wad of chewed gum on my coffee carafe tonight, that was just, no. My daughter mentioned gum under the table as well, I tried not to think about it too hard, but what else are they not cleaning regularly? Also, they forgot to bring my soup. So I mentioned managing expectations, but to be fair, I expect anywhere I eat to be a gum free zone and I expect them to bring the food I order. So 2 stars + 1 for free pie. Cause pie.

I admit it. I was judgey about this place without stopping in. I’ve avoided their fare for seven years because I assumed it was like an IHOP or a Denny’s, two places that I avoid if I can. So when I finally stopped in with my MIL, I was surprise to have such a positive overall experience. It was so positive that I’ve been back twice to have coffee with a friend and to have lunch with another. I don’t know how else to describe their fare than calling it home-style comfort food. They are open 24 hours a day and some of their pies look amazing in that glass case. Their wait staff was attentive and friendly. I also noticed some of them being very patient with the older clientele that seem to frequent this location and it didn’t seem like an affectation either. When I requested my meals to be dairy-free, the server was sure to reiterate that to the kitchen. I liked that attention to detail because I’ve been to places that won’t. Believe me, if I could have all the dairy, I would. I liked that if you ordered coffee, they bring you an insulated pitcher for the table so you can pour it yourself, to your heart’s content. Ample parking, friendly staff, and accessible seating make this place a win-win if you want late night pancakes or a nicely made club. Don’t let the location or the patrons fool you, it’s very clean and a safe bet for noms.
