Savage Color

I have been working on a line of greeting cards and wanted to find a local printer I could trust. I took in some of the ideas and scans I had been working on to Savage Color and was really treated well. They took the time to sit down with me on the spot and go over my options in terms of printing (digital and off set) and materials available. They did not charge me for their time and were very gracious. In the end I didn’t go with them for one reason only. The do a lot of their printing in house and the chemical off gassing is a bit hard for me. I left with a headache which lingered for a while. That is their one and only draw back as far as I could discern – if there was some way to overcome that I would use them in heartbeat.

I guess it’s just me with all these 4 – 5 star reviews for these guys. Poor quality. Inks misaligned. Poor turn around time. Really wanted to like the local guys.
But No.
No thank you.

The people at Savage color are experts at offset printing. If you’re looking for the best beautiful full color prints, I highly recommend them based on my past 6 months of experience there.
First, Savage uses high-​quality soy-​based inks and recycled paper. All of our jobs came with hand delivered proofs and personal assistance from Peter.
Second, they had money-​saving ideas for me. For instance, Mark recommended that I run two posters on the same run. A savings of $ 900! This is a HUGE deal. Besides just that, he recommended a unique limited edition poster on fine paper that could run on the same job… a product that would cost me thousands more if done separately.
Third, excellent service. I’ve never felt more respected with my jobs with every detail covered.
I’ve worked with other internet printers before… going local was the smartest thing I’ve done for my business.

Savage Color has really come through for Seattle Shakespeare Company on many occasions, and we’ve been very appreciative of their competitive pricing. Savage Color has handled our direct mail (both printing and fulfillment), posters, as well as large format signage. Delivery and fulfillment has been prompt with great customer service.
