Excellent find! The BLT is to die for and you can add a fried egg in it. The staff seemed a little bit stretched but the service was exceptional. The building is like a little house that has been made into a restaurant. I will definitely be returning.

I really want to like this place — the setting is super cute and relaxed — but I’ve been twice now and I’ve left feeling disappointed both times. We shared a BLT, which was really good(but kind of pricey), a not very good croissant and some rather oily potatoes. But the biggest issue for me was the coffee. I can get the best coffee in Seattle at a great coffee shop for about $ 3.50. Here a bad cappuccino was $ 3.80 and a very average drip coffee was $ 3.50 with no refills.

Warning: this is not a great cocktail bar. If you’re in the mood for a rum and coke with lime(which is totally cool!), then you’re probably fine going here. If you’re looking for craft cocktails, you’ll be disappointed. I made the mistake of ordering a Manhattan. The first one arrived shaken(so, totally watered down), with froth and ice chips in it. If you’re a Manhattan lover, you’re probably horrified. My friend convinced me to order another one stirred, but it also arrived super watery and tasted like toilet water with bitters in it. It was on the happy hour menu and labeled as a house Manhattan, so I thought maybe they’d know how to make one. No so. Otherwise, the service was friendly and consistent and the atmosphere was nice. I’m sure this would be a good place for a(simple!) drink and some happy hour bites. My friend enjoyed her food and the prices seemed reasonable to us, especially for SLU. But for a good Manhattan, walk a little further and go to re: public.

Arrived at 1.30 for a late lunch. Had the BLT and my husband had the Italian panini. Both really blah. Their side salad dressing was really bad. Beers were warm and service was really bad. Asked for napkins and she brought ONE for each of us… really? $ 50 for a really mediocre lunch. Would not recommend it for lunch. Maybe this is a fun place for happy hour

My team had an off-set meeting here last Friday. The wait staff was very nice and I enjoyed a sampling of some great food. We started with breakfast, including a ton of the best bacon I’ve had in a long time. The bacon was perfectly cooked and my team and I were not shy in gobbling it up. A catering pan full of scrambled eggs was also surprisingly good — Cooking eggs on that scale can sometimes turn into a watery mess — but not this time. For lunch I ordered the Vatican — a sandwich with mozzarella, basil. Very fresh. We ended the meeting with a few glasses of wine — hmmm and that was when we were the most productive ;-) On the negative side, a bunch of flies filled the room we were meeting in. It was also a really stuffy/hot room later in the day, and the meeting room is connected to the outside seating area, so we couldn’t open the doors without getting a lot of restaurant noise. Food: B+ Atmosphere: For a team meeting space: C Customer Service: A I’ll come back here with some friends soon and let you know how that goes.

Ok, this place is an amazing blend of quality food, environment and location. I had a great lunch here in a laid back venue. Each individual ingredient in a fairly complex sandwich was high quality and the meal was prepared to perfection.

Great bar! It’s a row house converted to a bar and this place is AWESOME. Keegan is my favorite bartender, she made the best drinks. She’s one of the main reasons I love this bar. The patrons have the biggest cocks and most beautiful faces. I’m so lucky. Come to the glowing that says BAR on Republican and Minor.

How has this place not gone to the dogs yet? The food is great, interesting, and well-presented. The service is always good, the coffee — delicious! Never a parking issue or long lines. I love the interior and hope they don’t get torn down any time soon and have to move to a characterless place.

It is very rare to find a place with the ambiance that this place has, based on SLU being torn down and rebuilt over the past few years. Every time another older building has a sign notifying of pending construction, I fear these row houses will be next. The antique, historical charm aside, this is a place with a tightly curated menu. They are very well known for their brunch. I can’t recommend the croissant French toast with Brie enough. I would love to see more dinner and bar food options, as the dinner menu is pretty limited. However, I really hope this gem is here to stay.

Constructed out of an old wooden residential house, this quaint café is fun for a casual breakfast or lunch. A bit of a challenge to get to if you’re not already in the downtown area, but worth the experience of eating out on the patio or tucked inside one of the rooms that was once a family’s living quarters. Food is a bit pricey, and doesn’t help that it’s surrounded by the Amazon campus($ 16 for a standard eggs, bacon, potato brekkie, yogurt’s $ 9, sammies run around $ 14, a salad around $ 14 – which I’ve torn through and still find myself hungry), but the ingredients are fresh and high quality. It’s worth the slight trek up the hill for the ambiance and experience. They also have great sweets near the register, and an array of booze. You can get hard stuff served inside – but beware, it’s also overpriced [$ 17 for a shot of Laphroaig 10yr? $ 24 for Oban 14yr? I’ve never even seen prices like that in San Francisco] and wine/beer/mixed cocktails outside. All in all, just a fun place to go, and the service is great.

Good food, yes, good service, decent enough interior but I’ve got to say… $ 23 for half a chicken breast with a scoop of potato salad is really ridiculous. Stopped in and the only real entrée under $ 20 was a pot pie. Reluctantly I chose the $ 23 chicken hoping for an amazing large portion(and still would have said its a bit too expensive). I left hungry, to be perfectly honest. I’ll slip back in for the happy hour small plate specials and see if the normally $ 10 wing plate reduced to $ 5 from 3−6pm is worth getting but I can’t imagine going back for dinner. I’m not opposed to occasionally eating an expensive meal and I’m aware of the rent in this area but if I’m gonna pay that much, it better blow me away and fill me up. Neither happened and my prediction is they’ll either get real about price/portions or will be closed in 6 months. I hope it will be the former but wouldn’t bet on it :-/

The place is cute and the staff was friendly but that’s about where the good part of the experience ended for us today at brunch. The food was disappointing at best. We each ordered the special fritata. One usually expects the special of the day to be fresh. It was clearly reheated and likely in the microwave. The eggs were discolored and the outer edges of the dish were rubbery and tough. I’d be willing to bet the dish was made days before. The flavor was also bland. The coffee was weak and had grounds in it. The potatoes were just OK. Full disclaimer: there was a medical emergency in the restaurant at the time so we didnt tell anyone of our disappointment so they didn’t have an opportunity to make it right. We just wanted to leave. I doubt very much we’ll be back and we wouldn’t recommend to anyone else either.

Stopped in for brunch because I live nearby and wondered what it was like. Food was good, but the price was curiously high for brunch. $ 5 for four slices of bacon, $ 3 for coffee, and $ 17 for the omelette of the day. Oh yeah, and a few bucks for«toast» which ended up being one slice of warm bread. The atmosphere was admittedly cool; the place has a good vibe. I just don’t know that I’ll be back if I can get the same quality for half the price at any of the restaurants on Cap Hill.

Row House is not a cheap eats place but it is a more southern home style comfort food place. The service is personable, the drink menu is large, location is great with easy street parking(pay before 6). The prices are higher(See menu pictures) but you are getting a higher quality ingredient for the price. The interior is very family owned/family lodge type of a feel — like you are getting a quality meal at the grandma’s house. Unique and great find in SLU.

For months, I’d passed this place on visits to SLU, and always said, «I wonder if that place is any good. I must try it sometime.» And so I did. Was it worth trying? Absolutely. Was it worth going back for? Sure. If that sounds like a cautiously hesitant review, that’s because it is. Made it a point to reserve seats in advance since we were going to be a big group, and that made the folks there pretty happy. The service was prompt and friendly, the atmosphere is very charming(a throwback in a very modern neighborhood), and the food was pretty good.(Pancakes with bacon and eggs here; eggs were fluffy and just right; pancake was pretty good.) I think there were three points of hesitation here — one is that one of the servers who waited on us didn’t know the specials — a problem for a place that has a bunch of them. Also, the prices could have been knocked down a dollar or two, and I think they would have been great instead of good. The last is that we needed the check split, and the server really didn’t want to; she did, but it made the close out awkward.(I think that we would have gladly come up with it ourselves if she had said there was a policy against split checks.) I’ll definitely give the place a second go; I hate slamming a place after only one visit. I just wish his particular visit had gone a hair smoother.

Row House is pretty good! I think its a little expensive otherwise I would have given it a higher rating. Food: Definitely a good place for breakfast or brunch. Both are tasty, although I wouldn’t say out of this world good. Food is solid but just a little pricey. I enjoyed their benedict sandwich! Ambiance: the location is great– not too busy and just outside the hustle and bustle of SLU. Unfortunately due to the construction at the moment there’s not much of a view. On the bright side the inside of the restaurant is very homely and got a great southern vibe! Bottom Line: Try out Row House Café! It’s nothing to rave home about but its good place to try out!

When you’re actually looking for the location, make sure you’re paying good attention because you can just pass it up without noticing. It looks like an ordinary house with a sign. Anyways. I absolutely love the semi rustic atmosphere here! They have great décor that makes the experience that much better. My sister and I had a lot of fun with the mirrors they had there. The service was also great, the staff was really informative and helpful. When it came to the food thought… that’s a different story. Maybe it wasn’t my cup of tea. My sister and I got a tomato soup and a sandwich. It was pretty pricey for what it was… I wouldn’t recommend it. I would just go there to enjoy the coffee/tea and atmosphere.

Sunday brunch with the girls was a total success thanks to this cute, but quite spacious, restaurant in a house. Located in SLU, this restaurant has tons of street parking, making it one less hassle for brunch. We had a group of four and was given a sweet spot in the back patio fairly quickly. They even have a front patio as well! The menu list provided a variety of options from sweet to savory to classic breakfast items. I ended up going with the 1000 layer French toast with stuffed Brie and berries. Absolutely delicious, although a little too heavy on the Brie. I actually ended up pulling the Brie out in the end. I would definitely order this again, but sans Brie. I should note that although we were busy and happily chatting away about events from the previous night, we did notice that service was a bit slow. However, our server was very nice.

Cozy, charming, comfortable, cute(how many more words that start with the letter«C» can I use to describe this place?). Came here with my brother and a friend for brunch. We walk in and it’s…empty. Not a single person in sight. Say whaaa?! Turns out everyone is grubbing on the patio. Score! The staff behind the counter greeted us excitedly and we followed one of the servers out to the patio. Friend had called in advance to make reservations. We had the big round center table with a hand written«reserved» sign laid clearly across it. What a sweet touch! On to the breakfast: I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict which came with fruit and garnish. Instead of English muffins, I asked for sliced tomatoes as a replacement to keep it paleoish. While flavorful, the crab didn’t taste fresh, it tasted as if it was locally foraged from a can. Not to be snooty, but in a city like Seattle where you have access to tons of fresh seafood(Lake union is right behind you, lol!), it just should taste better. I’m a spoiled Seattleite, I get it. Anyways, it was mixed with fresh ingredients to create a tasty profile and pan fried to perfection. The hollandaise sauce was… not good. Bland and blah. The fruit was a good mix of grapes, orange, cantaloupe, honey dew, and pineapple. I don’t think this was hand cut up fresh either, probably purchased as a mix. I enjoyed the yolkiness of the poached egg, but it the way it was presented strangely resembled a mold you could purchase for $ 19.99 from an infomercial. Friend ordered the Farmer’s Breakfast with scrambled eggs, toast, potatoes, and sausage. Brother ordered the same thing as I did. If you enjoy porky noms, there’s plenty to choose from on the menu. The menu was fairly healthyish. The 100 layer croissant looked like an untouchable dream. There may be some dejavu on my future plate.
