This crew gets points for the location alone. Always a cast of characters that stroll on through, but polite to everyone. The new deli up the block is super pretentious, considering their big item is board head meats, and can’t seem to make a proper Rubin. If home deli wanted to, they could slap together a grilled sandwich that would put places like row house to shame.(12 bucks for a grilled cheese @ row house… really?) Just a little more variety at this place, and it would be spot on with the deli counters that I visited growing up on the east coast. I tell you what. If you want a 6 pack of cold local beers, they always have something new in stock.

I call this place Sketch Deli, the out side looks a bit sketchy and on the inside you wouldn’t expect them to serve you lasagna, spaghetti and teriyaki. I was able to try their spicy teriyaki and chicken katsu. I was surprised at the amount of flavor the dish had. For a hole in the wall deli place, I wouldn’t mind saving a good amount of cash towards lunch. Compared to the other restaurants located around the area, Home deli is very affordable. Their daily specials and even cheaper. I haven’t tried their subs yet… I will eventually(depending on my liking that day). The owners here are very nice. I want to call out that they have a $ 5 minimum purchase for credit/debit cards. So if you’re in the area and want to avoid paying $ 8 – 15 for a lunch meal, head of to Home Deli(aka Sketch deli).

Great friendly people and all your Basic day to day needs. For the cascade neiborhood it’s our only choice for convenience store supplies.

Three words: Disgusting Microwaved Teriyaki The owners seem exactly like the husband and wife from Menace II Society: «Hurry up and buy!»

Bought their sandwich and it was a huge mistake. Expensive & sucks for the price of it! Please go to Row House Café(across the street from it) for amazing food that worth your money.

Home Deli Market isn’t the best carry out that’s ever existed. However, if you reside east of Fairview in South Lake Union it’s the closest. They have a great selection of beers and a friendly staff – they always greet me when I walk in. I do have a few suggestions. First, I think they should extend their hours later into the evening. Second, I think they could improve their selection of groceries. Third, they could improve the space.

The place looks filthy from the outside and not much better inside, their special is ripping off the elderly and the mentally ill in the neighborhood.

Have not tried the food there, so can’t speak to that. But the convenience store aspect of it is claustrophobic and overpriced. $ 5 minimum to use a card. The folks behind the counter have been glaring and unhelpful every time. Gave it a couple tries, but now I’m done. Avoid.

3.5 Stars Home Deli Market carries Cherry Dr. Pepper. And this is noteworthy.

Teriyaki = Scare-iyaki It’s cheap and they are willing to make substitutions. The Teriayki will tear apart your insides and leave you begging for mercy. Instant trip to the bathroom. I’ll eat pretty much anything, but I won’t eat that.

A hidden semi-gem. The sandwiches are tasty and assembled quickly. Eat them in Cascade Park on your lunch break. The people who work there are really nice, too.

The only convenient store close to Pete Gross House. Some items are over priced and may not be as fresh/new as I always check expiry dates.

I’ll willingly admit, I often give 5-star reviews not because the place deserves 5 stars but just because I want them to stay open. But hey, if I like a place so much that I’m willing to give them a 5-star review to keep them in business, maybe that means they really are a 5-star business. Now we all know that even though SLU has plenty of good options for sit-down restaurants, there are very few good options for a quick and convenient lunch, and most of those quick and convenient options are just crowded at lunch, so suddenly they’re not so quick and convenient anymore. So I’m glad I discovered Home Deli. The staff is nice, there’s almost never a wait, and while the food isn’t the best in the world, it’s pretty near the top of the curve for the«quick convenient» option. I’ve had the chicken teriyaki, both the regular kind and the spicy kind. The teriyaki is comparable to the stuff you can find at the Uwajimaya food court or at a mall food court and comes with an extra helping of teriyaki sauce. Again, it’s not the best teriyaki in the world, but if you’re in SLU and you’re craving slabs of meat for lunch, the teriyaki here is a pretty damn good option. The spicy teriyaki really is just the same teriyaki with spicy sauce thrown on it. There’s enough spice for you to feel it, but no self-respecting Asian would consider it «spicy» by any means. Fortunately, you can always ask for extra spicy sauce. I also regularly have the turkey sandwich here. They have a decent selection of sliced bread to choose from. You can customize your sandwich pretty much any way you want. And they always keep things simple, which is always a good thing. The turkey is more like a turkey ham, which I know some people have a problem with, but I like it. Personally, I think the sandwiches here are better than Jimmy John’s, Jersey Mike’s, and whatever other sandwich chain you want to throw in there. The best part, though, is the ice cream cooler in the corner of the store. Sure, frozen ice cream sandwiches and fudgesicles aren’t the most glamorous thing in the world, but there are literally no other frozen dessert options in the SLU, so I’ll gladly eat something from the ice cream cooler. Home Deli is quick and convenient, and the staff is friendly. They fill a role that no one else in the neighborhood fills, and if one day they were suddenly gone, I would miss them dearly. To me, that’s a 5-star business. As one of my friends said, the only way they could be more perfect is if they also served fries.

Amazing! They have daily specials but my favorite is Spaghetti Fridays! A nice helping of food for $ 5!!! Plus, they are just the nicest family and welcome you with smiles and kindeness. Numerous times now I’ve came by and they’ve been out of spaghetti and they’ve thrown on another batch!
Anybody else would have just turned me away. Love these guys!!! Definitely my Friday highlight. ;-)

Thank the dear Lord for HDM and their mountains of spicy teriyaki at reasonable prices. AND they greet me like I’m the lovable neighbor on a sitcom show. I love you guys… P. S. There’s something magical about that Friday spaghetti.

A nice little spot with very freindly guys. The food is cheap and actually pretty good. I got the teriyaki bowl a couple of times, but never the sandwhich or the salads. The rice is good, the meat is tasty. Its not the best, but so quick and good that I love it.

Seattle average in every way. Average Hours — not open late Average Food — a popular teriyaki with the local building crews at lunchtime, but I tried it once, and it was very bland. Average Prices — for a deli Nice People in there. Can’t buy a single beer, have to buy a six-pack.

A tiny little market/deli that is nothing special. I have been in a couple of times because the place is quite close to where I live, but there really is no other reason to go. They serve teriyake around lunchtime that is mediocre at best, and is only worth getting if you cannot go anywhere else. It is take out only. The place has a few shelves of dry goods, and some overpriced beer, soda, and milk($ 2.25 a quart) in some coolers. Forget produce or fresh foods — they don’t have any. Don’t risk going in the evening, because they will probably be closed, and be prepared to encounter a drunk whenever you go, because they always seem to be leaving with their tall cans of beer. The people that run the place do seem to be quite friendly, which aside from any potential advantage that the location offers, is the only redeeming feature of the place.

Affectionately called the«Home Boy Deli» by the locals. They’ll learn your name within a few visits and are always there for a good laugh. They’re my Hommies so be nice to them. It’s like any other small market — but with the best damn Teriaki you can imagine. Never try the coffee. It’s a bad bad thing.
