Romax Shoes

I have problem feet (Morton’s neuroma, surgery on a tendon) but I hope to remain somewhat fashionable. I went into this store with the hopes of finding my dream boot. The salesman was extremely attentive, made excellent recommendations, and was patient with me trying on many many pairs of boots. In the end I didn’t find the right one (they were low on stock and didn’t have my size), but they helped me figure out exactly what I am in need of. I will probably buy online, but I wish I could have made a sale here — excellent customer service! I will definitely be back.

Wow! Went in with trepidation. Came out with two pairs of supportive comfy, and cute, shoes. Halley super knowledgeable and helpful.

I think the shoes here are okay, but I’ve never timed it just right to actually be able to try some things on. This has happened twice recently and a third time I went back to actually see if I could get service the store was closed at 4:15 for a «lunch break?»
SO, I walked all the way to the one of 1^st avenue only to find out they don’t have the shoe I was hoping to try on. I give up on Romax.

We went here last Friday to check out the shoe brands they carry. It was close to 6:30 pm and there were about 5 female customers (excluding myself) and only 1 sales associate. The store was obviously busy and the female SA was running around to attend to everyone. First of all, the customers in the store were very patient and understanding that the store was short staffed. Secondly, I have to give a huge applause to the SA for her wonderful service!!! There were a few items I wanted to try on and the SA attended to my needs in a very swift, poised and professional manner. Granted that she really could’ve used another person to help out in the store, the other customers and myself were commenting how well she was handling the situation all on her own. I was very happy with my purchase and will keep in mind to visit this store next time I’m in Seattle again.

The service here is pretty great if you get the right person. They’ll even suggest brands they don’t carry upon listening to your feets-​woes. What’s kept me from making a footwear purchase is that a) their stock is weirdly distributed between a couple stores very close to each other downtown — and if you’re a person with VERY SORE FEET, like most of their clientele, you may not want to tromp around the area, sadly, especially if you didn’t fit into a half size down in one shoe and also b) while they are great for comfortable shoes in general, I feel like they tend to have orthopedic-​looking shoes for the fussiest feet around (like those clunky cat patterned Allergia Palomas — no judgment, I totally have them on back order for my 65^th birthday) or 5″ Earthies, which are undoubtedly the comfiest 5″ heels around but not something I’m likely to be able to wear. It’s been worth it to come in here to get consultations about inserts and fitting — they’re one of the only stores on the west side who carries Lynx inserts for non-​sporting shoes. They’ve sent me packing to Nordstrom and fashion boutiques with knowledgable requests. I wish they had more stock and selection, because their employees are shoe geniuses, even by phone.

After digging around at Nordstroms, Nordstroms Rack, Macy’s and the Walking company we were referred over to Romax Shoes. What a great experience and variety. My husband and I both needed a pair of walking shoes for a long trip. Hailey, the sales woman, was absolutely wonderful, helpful and was most interested in us finding the right shoes. there was NO sales pressure so we wanted to buy from her!!! We landed at the store close to closing time, and since we tried on a few pairs she happily worked past close to make sure we had what we needed, and I love my new Danskos! What an amazing experience in customer service and great products. I will be back!

Very friendly and helpful! There’s good communication between the different stores. If they don’t have your size for a certain pair, they’ll call around and see who does, which really saves you some stress once you find that perfect pair. The staff is very knowledgeable (at this location, and the other one I visited that same day), and can easily fill you in about the shoes, and how they compare to other styles.
The prices can be a bit steep, but the advantage is that they sell a lot of styles that are harder to find elsewhere. If you want a classy or stylish walking shoe, this is a great place to look.
My only frustration is that, for whatever reason, I have little luck with European sizes in shoes. It always feels like I’m somewhere in between, and I’m worried that my most recent pair won’t breathe to get as comfortable as I need them to be. But considering how nice the style is otherwise, I’m going to give it some time and see how that goes. And that’s not something I hold against Romax, since the final buying decision was mine.
Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the market for new shoes!

This is my favorite place to find high quality, supportive shoes that don’t look orthopedic.
Romax has really knowledgable staff that are happy to tell you about the vast differences in the brands they sell.
I’ve always left Romax happy, if quite a bit lighter in the wallet!

I came in here after I had gotten a groupon. I was looking for work shoes as I work in a factory requiring none cute shoes. Luckily, they have a bunch of shoes that were comfortable, and work friendly. I ended up getting boots that actually fit my ankles! i was so excited! The guy who helped me was super friendly, and he worked in finding me the boot even if it wasn’t in their store.

This is a great shoe store with excellent customer service. I have shopped at Romax for several years. Recently I stopped in and asked for assistance in finding rocker sole shoes that are lighter weight and more comfortable to wear than Danskos. I asked them to think of suggestions for me and promised to be back in a week on pay day. I returned and they suggested Alegria shoes by PGLite. I fell in love with these wonderfully comfortable shoes and bought 2 pairs on the spot. One of the pairs came from their Second Avenue & Pike Street store — an employee at that store brought them to 4^th Avenue. Service does not get better and I highly recommend this store to people who ask where I got such awesome looking shoes.

This store has a great selection of walking shoes in a number of brands. The staff was very helpful, locating additional similar shoes and fetching many sizes of the ones I was interested in. The 2^nd & Pike store is bigger than the Westlake store, but they share inventory information. I was pleased with the purchases I made.

The service at this store has always been exceptional. I was shopping for a new pair of Earth shoes the other day, and Romax is one of the few specialty shoe stores that carries them. When this location didn’t have my size in the shoe I wanted to try, the employee called the Pike and 2^nd branch to see if they had it. They did, so someone from that store brought a pair in my size over so I could try them!
The employees are always super helpful but not pushy or hovering (which I hate). I am very picky and indecisive about shoes, and they were incredibly patient about my need to compare and contrast different shoes ad infinitum.
Oh, and all of their shoes are made for comfort, yet cute and fashionable! Win-​win situation!

I was in the fourth ave store this weekend the guy helping me took a phone call! I think it was another store doing a stock check. I was so disappointed, I had to leave. I can understand answering the phone to let someone know you’ll call them back. But answering the phone and walking away from a customer! WOW that takes the cake.

Went here to buy some shoes after work last week…
One of my friends told me about MBT shoes, how it helps your back and walk properly. I’ve had some lower back problems for some time now and thought I would take a look at those MBT shoes. I did some research and found this store online. These shoes have a kind of curvy, wedge look in the sole… if you stood up on them, you can kind of roll on them… very interesting feeling but it felt good to walk in them.
The store has an amazing selection of the MBT shoes, as well as a ton of comfy walking shoes. Even though it’s right down in the touristy muck, they were very nice and helpful, knowledgeable. I was in and out in under ten minutes though the store was crowded. Make sure you try out their MBT shoes… your back will thank you later.
