Great restaurant and great as an event space. I loved going here over the past few years when it was a restaurant. Recently, they transitioned to an event space, and I’m happy to say they’re outstanding in that role as well. RZ was the location of my first date with my girlfriend. So I wanted to go back there to propose to her. RZ cleared out the whole restaurant, set up a beautiful table with flowers & candles in the middle. They even had champagne waiting for us on the table. They also ordered food from a nearby restaurant and served us dinner. It looked amazing. They did an outstanding job, and were so helpful. I couldn’t have imagined it going better. I am so happy that I reached out to them.

Five stars for the delicious food. Too bad I won’t be able to come back to eat here since they’re transforming to exclusively an event space. The steak and salmon steelhead was so good! I wish I could come back. Maybe I’ll swing by for an event when they’re hosting.

My BF has been on a duck confit phase lately and we saw reviews for the duck confit for this place. Unfortunately, we did not realize their menu changes quite frequently. We tried ordering the coq au vin, but they ran out! We ordered the braised short ribs cassoulet, lamb shank, beef tartare, wild boar bolognese, and a side of brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious, especially the bolognese and brussels sprouts. The brussels sprouts had this delicious spicy sauce, and the bolognese was rich and flavorful. The lamb shank was super tender. My friend was also disappointed that they didn’t have the soft shell crab burger, which is apparently available only in the summer months. We’ll just have to come back another time!

Wine and dine, well done Ambience: 4 Food: 5 Drinks: 4 Value: 3 Restaurant Zoe is a fantastic American New eatery that stand out even in the loaded culinary line up of Capitol Hill. With a constantly rotating menu of seasonal and locale foods, the place is worth a few visits. On our visit, we experienced several awesome dishes. The pan fried cheese gnocchi, which was crispy and savory. The beef shank was juicy(some nice fatty parts) and delicious. The blasted Brussel sprouts with nuts was uniquely balanced with sour sweet and savory. All were great. Little known(and not advertised on their site), they have a very good happy hour. They offer a few well priced wines and they have some good ‘house’ liquors(like a Rye bourbon) that you can have a well-drink or for a few dollar more, some cocktails. Had a couple of Rye Sazeracs for $ 8, a really good value. Looking forward to coming back during the summer, when their several open areas will make some nice outdoor relaxing.

My partner and I were gifted $ 75 here for our anniversary and we had a delightful evening here. This included their signature Wild Boar Bolognese for a starter, a Braised Lamb Shank and a Valley Steelhead for the main course. We probably should have also ordered starters, as we had enough room in our bellies for more afterwards, but were also quite happy to not leave feeling stuffed. As someone else has mentioned, the menu is limited, sufficient and interesting — one fish, chicken, beef, lamb and burger dish with complex twists so nothing is boring. I would note that I don’t think that there main dishes for vegetarians, so this might present a challenge for some. On the other hand, they whipped up a very interesting non-alcholic cocktail for me(which I don’t see on the menu) that included a bit of vinegar and hit the spot for a sour lover like me. They said it is a unique drink they’ve developed there… The bill, including my husband’s beer, did total nearly $ 100, so I would imagine with starters and wine you’d be well over $ 100 for two. That being said, we enjoyed our time here and would come back again for a special occasion.

Dining solo on a business trip I chose this spot randomly from a list of places with good reviews on Unilocal! I regret that decision. The restaurant was about 2⁄3 full, but there was a party in their banquet room, which my dining experience was a direct casualty of. After being greeting by a nice kid who turned out to be a busser, I was seated(rather awkwardly) at a high top table in the bar. I sat there for nearly twenty minutes without a sign of anyone being interested in approaching me. I finally got up and asked the same gentleman who sat me who my server was. He pointed at the bar tender and said she would be. I would keep going, but it never really got better than this. When I arrived I was psyched to actually try some of the more complex dishes on the menu here, but by the time I was able to order, I lost my nerve and ordered an $ 18 burger. It took a half hour to arrive. It was not great, nor terrible. But by then it’s quality or lack thereof was pretty moot. I also ordered a glass of wine — which to his credit a gentleman who must have been a manager said he would buy for me. Then I sat and waited and waited for a check. Which I finally had to ask for. I dine out a lot — for business and pleasure and I think that despite some really crappy service and food over the years, I have never failed to leave a tip at a restaurant in probably 25 years. I didn’t leave one tonight.

3.5 stars. Came here a couple of nights ago and was very excited to have the crab burger. The waitress said that’s not an item they have on their menu regularly, but they did have one wagyu beef burger left. Perfect, I immediately asked her to claim it for me. She returned 5 min later and said my name was written all over it. Another 5 min passes and a different waiter said my burger went to someone else. Bummer! I went with the entrée version of the boar bolognese, which was delicious! The beef tartare appetizer was nothing spectacular and we were underwhelmed with the pork chop. It was $ 47 and about an 8oz portion(not counting the bone) and really overcooked. I might return to try the crab burger, but otherwise, probably not.

This a cute, small, rustic/modern neighborhood restaurant. The menu is very simple and almost minimalistic. One does not have many options of what to order. I was not very impressed with the food… after experiencing several wonderful dinners at different restaurants in Seattle, my experience here was the only one that I felt neutral about. Additionally, the portions were very small and I left the restaurant still feeling somewhat hungry. I ordered the Gnudi. It was a unique mix of flavors and the curry kick simply did not do it for me. I also had the risotto and that was quite tasty. It was disappointing that they charge $ 4.00 for a piece of bread, but whatever butter they use with it, made the money worth it. It was delicious! The service was phenomenal. Our server’s name was Jeremy. He was attentive, friendly, and eager. The bar made very delicious drinks, and«the primrose» was by far my favorite.

I’m petite, like 100 lbs petite. And I left this place hungry after dinner! Service was great! The dishes had fresh with inventive flavors! There were varieties of meat dishes to vegetable dishes, with full respect for all ingredients. Steak tartare was fresh and well seasoned. The wild boar bolognese and the brussels sprouts were among the favorites, which I plan to replicate at home later this month. Octopus salad was ok, good contrast to the rest of the heavier dishes What I didn’t like were how they portioned each dish. We ordered 7 dishes for 4 people with a drink each, which ran our bill up to about $ 28/person. Minus the drink, even for $ 20, I expect to be FED – that’s more than 2 Chipotles! The steak tartare had 6 pieces of crostinis, which were not enough to cover half of the amount of tartare. The bolognese had 4 noodles – yes FOURNOODLES. 1 person in our 4-top didn’t even get a noodle because a friend took 2 noodles without knowing there were only 4 noodles in the whole dish! Made for some awkwardness at the table and some apologies for ‘taking too many noodles!’ Nothing worse than customers apologizing to each other over an inadequate dish. We ended up eating a lot of sauce by itself. We went to molly moon’s afterwards and I engulfed my ice cream and waffle cone because I was left soo hungry! Not planning to go back any time soon. It’s not worth the price or the search for parking to be inadequately fed!

We were with a small group to have dinner on Saturday night but they gave us a table in a few minutes. The menu was limited but everyone found a dish to order. The dishes are just the right size. I think the best dish on our table was the meatloaf. They were out of a few items on the menus and they took a long time to bring out food. Overall the food was tasty but nothing too special. The environment and atmosphere was good. They have an extensive wine menu and many options to order. I ordered the only salad on the menu which was very basic. The Brussels sprouts and the mushroom. We also ordered the beef tartar. The beef tartar was not very impressive. The chicken and meatloaf are better dishes to order. Nothing really was too impressive about this place but overall it was nice and tasty.

Ate a nice dinner here last night. The space was cozy, romantic and relaxing. Inside and outside dining. Food was delicious and flavorful. We tried the Local Mushrooms and the Ricotta Gnudi starters. Both delicious, yet wish there were more Gnudi included. Followed by the Painted Hills Beef Burger with fries and the Alaskan Halibut with clams. Both tasting delicious. I tried the spicy sage margarita because I love spicy drinks and margaritas but it wasn’t as good as I was hoping for. All in all the food was great so I would definitely return. We spent about $ 100.00 on 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 cocktail and 2 beers. Food took a little longer than we thought it should so be patient. Service was ok she seemed like she was ready to go home.

Came here a while ago and have been meaning to write a review. Absolutely terrific restaurant and would visit again! Everything on the menu was spot on and terrific. I remember starting off with the steak tartar and it was some of the best tartar I have had. After I had the pork with apple and damn the pork was so juicy and perfect in every way. Service was attentive and prompt and the layout and design of the restaurant was relaxing and warm.

I really like the atmosphere and the décor. One thing you have to note is that depending where you sit the wifi doesn’t work. I tried in multiple places it kept on saying bad password. Service is great. The waitress was really friendly. Food wise this is where it docked stars the most. Maybe my expectation is too high. I ordered a braise short rib and it doesn’t taste or look like short ribs. Plus I wasn’t expecting my braised short rib with black pepper on the side of the what looks like two piece of steak meat. The server did say that was the braised short rib so I am pretty sure it’s the correct dish. I also ordered a beef tartare to start. The portion is huge. That was good beef tartare but not great. But some how it’s chopped up and not like how Vancouver served it looking like paste or sliced carpaccio. So it kind of reminded me of ground beef. Well I know it’s not ground beef so I am fine eating it. Plus I have to do the mixing myself. I am not complaining about the extra work. It’s added mess to it. Would I come again?. Well this really depends. If my friends wants to go then I will go but I won’t suggest coming here out of the blue. I mean I would come if I am in the hood.

Girls night on Cap Hill sounded like a good time to check out Restaurant Zoe. We tried the tar tar which was very good, the Tofu entrée which was interesting and had a great set of flavors. The wine was excellent as well. The patio is also super cute and a cozy place to share dinner. It is a great choice, the food didn’t blow me away but it was all very good.

I have been dying to try this place! Our group decided to dine out on the patio and it is just so cute and rustic feeling I loveeeeed it! Went in on a Monday and surprise! Our bottle of wine was half off! We later shared the wild boar bolognese, beef tartare, and the king salmon. Let me tell you, the bolognese was everything!!! The pappardelle was perfectly cooked, and the meat sauce was equal parts gamey, spicy, and just full of flavor! I am bringing my boyfriend back specifically so he can try this dish! The beef tartare was good, I loved the fermented garlic aioli! Sounds kind of gross but it gave the dish a little extra salt and added a depth of flavor. The port gelee was a nice touch, gives off a powerful sweetness and a different textural element. Over all both really great dishes! The salmon was good but my least favorite of the three. I liked that they kept the skin on and it had a really nice crisp to it but other than that the salmon wasn’t too memorable. Fantastic experience! Can’t wait to go back to try the gnudi and foie gras next!

This place is adorable!!! Got to sit outside for a friend’s birthday dinner and had such a lovely experience. Pretty décor both inside and outside of the restaurant, but the outside was definitely a good decision with the stringed lights and everything! Here’s a breakdown of what I had: 1. Wild boar bolognese– straight crack. Served with these thick green pasta noodles(?) and the meat sauce had amazing flavor to it. Paired nicely with the my glass of red! 2. Beef tartar– my first time trying tartar but I gotta say, I’m now a fan! 3. Crispy skin salmon– might’ve been slightly overcooked. But I LOVED the crispy skin! I’m normally grossed out by fish skin but I was eating this stuff up like it was my job. Also loved all the sautéed veggies it was served with– especially the onions! Food was a win, servers were nice and timely, and beautiful interior. I’ll definitely be coming back someday!

Dear Restaurant Zoe staff, I’m an understanding guy. I think it’s OK to vent your feelings. Your job is tough. Some patrons are difficult. Back in your office, it’s fine to talk some shit and roll your eyes when your customer is being a pain in the ass. When a pregnant woman requests that you cook her meat a bit more, in order to FOLLOWDOCTOR’s ORDERS, and YOUPUSHBACK, Miss«Thank-You-Kindly,» you are officially Unilocalable. But when YOURCUSTOMERISTENFEETAWAY, and CANSEEYOUTALKINGSHITABOUTHISWIFE, you done fucked up. Chubby Emo chef, you’re now Unilocalable. I’m sad to have to write this review. Zoe was one of our first romantic spots in Seattle, and we’ve raved about it to out-of-towners. But tonight was tough. When my wife politely asked to have her rare steak taken to medium, the passive-aggressive back-and-forth about the definition of «medium» was both uncalled for and inaccurate(I make her steak at 135 °F, you served us 120 °F, 125 °F tops). Chef Chubby Emo, had the place been slammed, I’d empathise with your frustration over the extra task. But with over half the tables empty, it was shockingly poor form for you to bitch about my wife’s simple request, ten feet in front of me. Miss«Thank You Kindly,» you were a fine server until we asked for just a bit more heat on the beef. Had you resumed being cordial to us the rest of the night, I’d have taken a breath and let this go. But talking shit, and then avoiding and ignoring my wife and me for the rest of the meal was classless. Kindly and Chubby, tribute to your coworkers for picking up the slack, attending to us when you no longer felt like doing your job. Tribute to your competition, who have treated my pregnant wife’s specific needs for food safety with proactive discussion and respect.

Here for SRW and had such a wonderful experience. The server was on point from welcoming to explaining the daily special to the menu. Well trained busser who prepares room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils. Regularly check up with constantly refilling water. Super attentive! Food : Appetizer — Mixed Green Salad– Radish, Almonds, Pecorino, Fig Vinegar, Cucumbers, Roasted Shallot Vinaigrette 4⁄5 — Anderson Ranch Braised Lamb Leg– Couscous, Cashews, Picholine Olives & Date Jus 5⁄5 Entrees — Pan Roasted Chicken Breast– Parsnip Purée, Parsnip & Potato Salad, Horseradish, Crème Fraiche, Pickled Rhubabr, Wilted Spinach, Chicken Jus. So the chicken breast was juicy and tender but I wish it has a little more purée. 4⁄5 — Fresh Ricotta & Stilton Gnudi– Walnut Pesto, Pickled Pears, Arugula 5⁄5 Dessert Chocolate Pot De Crème– Cherry Compote, Vanilla Chantilly, Cherry Bark, Shortbread 5⁄5(BOMB.COM) Almond Cake– Rhubarb, Honey Mascarpone, Brown Butter Streus 4⁄5

Came here for the dine around Seattle menu– overall experience 3.5÷3.75 Fennel Bisque– really tasty Gnudi– wasn’t my husband or my cup of tea Pork Shoulder– really juicy and tasted great but I am not a fan of beans so I didn’t enjoy the side Sumac Chicken Breast– delicious, worth trying Dessert is where they fell short Meyer Lemon Semifreddo– it was ok not great but not bad Warm Cornmeal Cake– wasn’t a fan of this at all– the cornmeal taste was way too dominant Would I go again?!? probably not unless I am in the neighborhood and a friend really wanted to go

This a great spot on the hill if your looking for good food and away from the hustle and bustle of broadway. Price: for what we ordered, the quality of the sides and entrees matched. Compared to other places on the hill, this place is slightly more inexpensive. Our bill was about $ 80: 2 cocktails, 2 sides and 2 entrees. Fair. Food: **Pork Shoulder(entrée): incredibly tender & juicy, it paired nicely with the white beans that sat under it. It was a good size to share between us. **Beet Risotto(entrée): such a beautiful plate!!! It was cooked exactly as it should and I loved the subtle taste of the beet. **Pom Frites(side): a must have if your in the mood for munchies. Not greasy and tasted good with the ranch-ish sauce that came with it. **Cauliflower(side): I wasn’t expecting the cranberries to work well on this dish, but they totally did! The cauliflower was roasted and had a nice bite and everything was topped with a generous helping of parmesan slices. We were very impressed with the food and were too full to have dessert. Also, the focaccia bread is a nice touch from the usual bland bread that other places give before the meal. Drinks: my man had the Manhattan and was extremely happy he made that decision. I had the gin based drink with saint Germain and peach liqueur… not too sweet and just bitter enough.(Spacing on the exact drink names) Service: Linda was fab! She seemed to be a veteran here and was super knowledgeable about the menu and specials. She was kind and smiling at every turn, even when we couldn’t hear each other sometimes(blame saturday night busyness). The only call out and reason for the one star deduction: it took a while for my drink to come and once she delivered my man’s drink, she scurried off before asking if we were ready to order. In any case, we will definitely be returning to try the Oyster HH and desserts.

Our friends took us here for dinner sans kids. Love the cozy bar and dining ambiance of this Capitol Hill establishment! Add to that, friendly service and a delicious meal — this is definitely a great date night pick! We just missed their Oyster Happy Hour(boo!), but no worries, they had a great selection of apps and sides. Our favorites were the spicy wild boar bolognese and caramelized brussel sprouts — so good we ordered another one! For the entrees, the hubby was very satisfied with his Braised Pork Belly with caramelized apple and peas. Although he was quite jealous of my entrée, the Braised Painted Hills Beef Shortribs — so soft and tender, perfectly seasoned and topped with pomegranate glaze. For a non-meat alternative, my friend also enjoyed her pan seared salmon along with her steamed mussels appetizer. They also offer a great selection of Washington wine, which you can order in half-bottles. Don’t let the casual ambiance fool you, it’s a special dinner kinda place(and a little pricey too). Overall, a wonderful experience and highly recommended!

I came in not for the food but for the dessert and I’m not ashamed to admit it! I came here for their raspberry hibiscus sorbet because my friend had been hyping about it for weeks! We actually did a bit of a run around since they first told us it was no longer being served, but then called in again just to double check and TADA, it was still available! We sat on their outdoor patio, which is absolutely beautiful. It is surrounded by beautiful flowers and you feel like you’re in this lovely little secret garden. Service was fantastic. They were very quick and efficient with taking our order. The manager even came to apologize for the run around and gave us a free sorbet. I was tingling with excitement when my sorbet came out. It is one of the most beautiful desserts I have ever seen. It has 2 scoops of sorbets, with two dried slices of pineapple on it, white chocolate pearls that tasted more like rice crispies, red peppercorn jello, and candied lime. So many different flavor combinations. We were a bit skeptical on eating the peppercorn jello but it actually brought out the flavor in the sorbet. I would even dare to say that it amplified the flavors in the dessert. The pineapple tasted like a fruit roll up candy, same texture and everything. This is the perfect summer time dessert and I’m so happy we were able to get it.
