Eating here is like discovering hidden treasure that also happens to be delicious! It is a very welcoming space with friendly and helpful staff. The food is excellent and tasted like it was made with love by talented chefs. We ordered the veggie biscuits and gravy and we loved every bite. The signature salad with tahini dressing was fresh, and flavorful — the type of food that makes one glow from the inside out! Can’t wait to go back!

The most enjoyable lunch I’ve eaten in a long, long time. This café is a cozy and inviting place to hang out and enjoy the beautiful handmade wooden tables and the calming view of ginormous bamboo and trees that are green even in the depths of winter. The food was delicious — just the right amount to feel satisfied but not over stuffed. I was a little wary about trying the tea-smoked tofu in the TLT(tofu-lettuce-tomato) but it was very tasty and blended well with the other ingredients: the toasty bread added a nice mix of crunchy and chewy textures while the tomatoes were surprisingly fresh and flavorful for January. The coffee had an intense deep flavor and was the perfect accompaniment to the unbelievably rich fabulous cocoa nib cookies.

Friendly staff, gluten free and vegan options, plenty of seating, and good tunes. Over all a great ambience. Sit and stay a while!

Delicious little place! So they don’t allow dogs. It’s very small and being a dog owner myself I get enough hair in my diet at home. Once you eat here that won’t bug you or your pup if you save him some ;) Friendly staff with a smaller menu but definitely still has a variety. Their coffee came out perfect for my tastes. Extra shots of espresso. I like to taste the coffee not burnt or over flavored. Food was great, smaller sandwiches but oh so good! Out of my way but I’ll be back.

This place is great — delicious food, well brewed coffee and wonderful atmosphere. Sorry dog people — I don’t like to have coffee with fido. Not only is there every reason to stop by here to get a bite and a beverage, the owners are very inviting. I highly recommend you stop by and make it your little discovery.

Traveling from CA and tried the egg sandwich, chili, and grilled cheese. All were really good and enjoyed the lemon tahini dressing as well. The chili was exceptionally good and it came topped with avocados to boot. Great little café, glad we stopped.

What a delightful place. Rainier Beach is lucky to have one of the hippest coffee shops in Seattle as a resident. The interior design is warm and inviting, rustic and very classy all at once. The food is great and the cookies are even better: the chocolate nib cookie is divine. Right now Tammy Wynette is crooning and I am set up for a quiet morning of «working from home». I’m happy to be here, you should be here too.

Best almond milk latte I’ve ever had! I was in town visiting for the weekend and stopped here for breakfast. I think what I had was called the Lake Union breakfast. It was eggs, potatoes and toast. The eggs were nothing special, the potatoes tasted like they had been cooked in burnt oil. The toast was a multigrain type served with apple butter. The potatoes were the only disappointing thing I had. The apple butter was amazing. My companion had the quiche and said it was great. I would give it 5 stars if the potatoes were better, maybe some peppers and onions with them and not burnt oil. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in town again and will recommend it to friends. If it was closer to my hotel I would have went every day just for the latte and apple butter on toast. Wish there was something like this closer to home.

Unfortunately, RedWing Café is not dog friendly. I had a dream in my head that this could be a regular stop on my morning dog walks for a quick«to-go» cup. Alas, that dream has been dashed: upon walking through the door with my mild mannered best friend, I was told dogs weren’t allowed and that I would need to tie him outside. Disappointing, as this was my second visit to RedWing café and my hopes were high this could be a regular thing. I dutifully tied my pooch outside, grabbed a cup, and dejectedly walked home — my dog’s accusing eyes expressing his displeasure at my patronage of such a discriminatory establishment. The Starbucks in Safeway just a few blocks away and doesn’t have this policy, so I guess I’ll continue to «buy local» from Howard and skip out on what looked like an excellent neighborhood coffee spot. TL:DR Coffee is good, but not being pet friendly is a deal breaker for me.

Sooooooooo good!!! I went here based on everyone else’s great reviews for non fair options and gf stuff. I LOVE that they offer things for this. It’s not all vegan and gf but as someone allergic to milk I’m so grateful for the lovely breakfast option that I don’t have to worry about. I got the rainier beach breakfast. 2 scrambled eggs, seasoned potatoes, and some toast. Options for tofu scramble, fruit, and biscuit available. Everything was perfect. Fresh avocado for me Also a sot latte. I’m not usually a fan of foam but this on my latter was delicious. It was thick and rich. The soy milk here is good too. Not to plant like. Can’t disregard the beautiful tables and vibe here. The tables were apparently made by the owner and son(?) when a tree fell in their yard and they made tables out of it. Local artists featured too. Interesting art but it totally adds to it.

How I love Redwing. Let me count the ways. I love the coffee, the gluten free chocolate chip cookies, the quiche, and the fritatta. i love the grilled cheese sandwiches and home made soups. I love the friendly staff. I love the ambience and the handmade tables. Lovely. Don’t come expecting a full breakfast cooked to order though. Every thing is delish but its not a place where you order eggs over easy, hashbrowns and toast.

This place is great. Drip coffee and a redwing tlt. Doesn’t get better. The outside and inside are very representative of Seattle in its welcoming, woodsy feel. The food was perfection. My TLT(tofu, lettuce, tomato) sandwich was worth every penny($ 7). It came with pickled onions and peppers. So perfect. The staff is very kind, helpful, and attentive. So happy we stopped here!

Lovely people, lovely atmosphere, great food, great coffee! I’ve been here several times and they always have vegan and gluten free food options. Their coffee is very nice — not as bitter as the roast at a Starbucks. They also have coconut milk and other non-dairy options. I have had the frittata a couple of times — very flavorful — they put in things like feta or tomato or spinach. I also tried the sticky bun, which is not gluten free — but it is like a bun version of a pecan pie, only stickier and somehow not overly sweet. Okay, it’s pretty sweet, but not coma-inducing sweet or anything… They do have an air-conditioner, which may be a little chilly on a hot day, so I try to remember to bring a long-sleeved shirt to throw on if I’m sitting next to it. You can park on the street or take the #7 bus.

Such a lovely place. You walkin and you feel right at home. Their coffees are perfection(and I love coffee), the nibble are perfect, and more importantly the company is delightful. The team at Redwing Café really know community and greet everyone who walk in like an old friend. Come hang out and write that epic novel, have a quick business, meeting, or just enjoy your sunday brunch with Redwing. They are there for you. Gluten free options available. Great collection of teas. Espresso made the old fashion way and made well. And last but not least the details in the design of the space are something to behold. I just adore the art on the walls, the hand crafted tables, the fact that you are perched over a wee ravine, and the general vibe is a must!

Yay! Café somewhat closer to home. Ordered latte, chai latte, frittata, and grilled PB& J. My plain latte was strong, just like how I like my coffee. Chai has never been my favorite flavor but I felt it was underwhelming. Husband got the frittata and said it was really good, but the slice is tiny(which is ok for us). I got the grilled PB& J and was not disappointed. The hot grill made the PB oozy and warm, with the raspberry jam. Yummy! I wanted all their selected pastries too… But I’ll come back another time for that. The place is small, literally holds about 14 – 20 ppl, but wasn’t too busy. The staff was nice enough to come out and bus the table even though we bus our own great service !

Nearly a month later, I had another opportunity to revisit Redwing Café and stay awhile. This time I convinced the husband to accompany me for lunch and even learned a faster, easy-peasy route to get there via the Boeing Access Road exit off of I-5 South. There was a line this time and most of the tables were occupied by singles, duos, and families with school aged and tiny kiddos. We ended up at the comfy bar stools by the window — plenty of natural light! After we had ordered our lunch and beverages, this gave me the opportunity to get a closer look at the café itself. Warm wood paneling, smooth wood countertops, eye catching and clever art(see attached photos). Nice slogan on their business card too, ‘Earth Food for Earth People’. There’s a modest chalkboard featuring daily specials and menu items like soup, salads, sandwiches, frittata, quiche. However, the big selling point remains for me is the pastry case. All the various baked items are made onsite and today it was coaxing me to focus on cookies. The sticky buns others have written about continue to elude me. But onward to what was ordered: Beverages: Two 12 ounce mochas($ 4 each) — again, nicely done with a rich chocolate finish Lunch Selections: Cauliflower and Tomato Quiche slice($ 3.50) Smallish slice, tasty overall, but the standout was the flaky crust. Hummus Sandwich and Carrot Ginger Soup combination($ 7) Toasted slices of Grand Central bread with generous filling of hummus, shredded carrot, sliced tomato and lettuce. I snagged a spoonful of the soup — tasted nicely caramelized and sweet. Cookies!(one each, $ 1) Pecan Crescent, Chocolate Cacao Nib, and a Gluten Free/Vegan Peanut Butter Cookie I liked them in the order listed. Cookies to Go — cleaned out the platter of 7(75 cents each) The beautiful heart shaped, iced cookies. I thought they would taste like the Flower Power shortbread type cookies. The magenta-fuschia icing had a slight citrusy flavor. These made the kiddo happy after school and will be perfect later with some tea. We enjoyed our hour long visit before heading back north. Great neighborhood café! Closed Mondays, Tues-Fri 7am-4pm, Sat/Sun 8am-4pm
