I had order to go here a few time and I would say some of the best burger I have ate in a long time. I love the Red Mill Deluxe w/cheese down right full of flavor that I haven’t really found any burger that could really beat it and their fries I have nothing to say it was amazing. The only downside were they don’t accept cards as payment so I always keep forgetting to bring cash so I have to go across the street to the ATM to get cash.

Their burgers are fine(Lil Woodys is better), and their service is okay. Since I live next to one I would pop in now and again for convenience, however since it turns out the owner is a misogynist bigot who rallies against homeless people, I think I’ll give my money to business who have a more positive impact on the community.

Having been to Red Mill several times is the past and enjoying their delicious burgers, I have to say that in light of recent comments made by the owner(John Shepherd) that were misogynistic, and transphobic in nature; I can no longer give this place anything above a one star raring(which if I could give less, I would). It saddens me to know that members of the very community to which he provides an amazing burger experience, he in turn views with contempt and disgust. The simple fact that he would speak so disrespectfully of women and trans people shows a lack of respect for the community he is a part of. It is simply not good business to make public remarks that are filled with such hate towards the very people you look to have make your business thrive. They will work against you, and he certainly must know this. And it is because of these vile comments that I will no longer be giving my business to Red Mill Burgers, as well as encouraging my friends to withdraw their business as well.

Why might a vegetarian love a burger place? Three words: Verde Veg Burger. The Verde Veg ties with the«Happy Hippy»(available at Cyclops in Belltown) as my pick for best veggie burger in the city. With fire roasted anaheim peppers, jack cheese, lettuce, red onion, tomato, and«Mill Sauce» on a kaiser bun, you are in for a treat(for the hungrier ones among us, you can add an extra veggie patty for a nominal charge; it elevates the burger from a lunch to ample dinner offering). My first experience was at Red Mill in Interbay, though when I lived over at Greenlake, I frequented the Phinney location. Service is the same at both locations, as is the food. I prefer to dine at non-peak hours because that’s when the staff takes a little more time putting everything together. If you go during a rush, the essential elements are all there, but the presentation can be a little sloppy. If you don’t like loud music, you may want to get yours to go. Also, if you like water with your meal, consider bringing a bottle along with you; while there’s a water dispenser available, the cups they offer are teeny-tiny. Maybe they want you to get their shakes instead.

Good place for burgers. My go to burger is the Red Onion Jam burger. Carmelized red onions on top of a burger. The Verde burger has an anaheim chile but it isn’t spicy. The pepper gives it a nice smokey chile flavor to the burger. Try any of the burgers with dijon mustard, which is located on the condiment table. The milkshakes are thick and delicious, and they have a great selection. Their onion rings are tender and the batter is really good. I wish they were open on Mondays but they are not. Very good burgers and onion rings.

The burgers here are huge, so I typically really enjoy the first few bites and then it hits me that I’m eating this greasy mess and haven’t worked out in weeks or even months, and it’s a point of diminishing return from there. I wish they had a slider-sized version of their burgers, so I can try different ones. Their fries and shake actually leave more of an impression on me than the burger. Always friendly service, cash only.

Oh, how I love you, Red Mill! With your delicious Verde Burger, with perfectly grilled anaheim peppers! You make me think about you daily and wish we didn’t have such a long distance relationship. You really should move closer to me so we could see each other more often. We love this place so much that when we go, we order 5 different burgers and share them between the 4 of us! The onion rings are to die for! My only complaint is that since everyone else likes this place sometimes seating is hit or miss. Meaning I sometimes have to take it to go. In my car. Because it is not going to make it further than the parking lot. Love this place. Bring cash!

We came here because we saw it on man vs food. Didn’t disappoint! Lines to the door but worth the wait. The meat was so juicy and tender and had some kick to it. Will stop again soon, and we’re from so cal ;)

Clean and friendly place. Great Burger. Parking is limited. That’s why I gave them 4 star.

2:30pm on a Saturday is actually busier than you’d expect. I got the Red Mill deluxe and I’d say it was just ok, but decent for the price. I was hoping the Mill sauce would be more flavorful but I couldn’t really taste much of it, maybe bc the buns are pretty thick. Shake was just ok too, had to wait a while before I could use a straw but that’s what spoons are for! Would maybe come back if I was in the area, but it’s not somewhere I would crave. *cash only

The burgers are pretty good. The shakes are better. The onion rings are disappointing quite frankly. All I’d heard for the longest time was they are the most amazing onion rings ever… and they really aren’t. They’re ok. The service could use some work as well. There were like three occasions in a row in which we’d asked for the food to go and wasn’t prepared as such, at which point rubber bands around fry carriers and such were kinda haphazardously tossed into some bags. It’s fine, I know they’re just kids there, but come on. All around it’s a nice place and the food is good. Good. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not from Seattle originally, but there’s a huge bandwagon on the quality of burgers and rings and I don’t quite get either. If you’re hankering for a burger, have some cash(not credit, because like Dick’s, they don’t believe in any double digit century that starts with a 2), and are in the area, there’s nothing really wrong with Red Mill, there’s just nothing particularly stellar either. I tend to stop in for no other reason than that it’s right there on my way home.

My favorite burger place in Seattle. Decent price point for a good sized burger. The onion rings are for sure the best, but that’s if you prefer cornmeal over beer batter. They’re also known for their tower of bacon, but I’m personally not into bacon in my burgers. For a classic burger, I go for the Red Mill Deluxe with Cheese; however, be warned — it gets a bit messy and if you’re not a fan of red onions, you might want to ask them to go light on them or to hold them. It also has the«Mill sauce,» which is a mayo based sauce. Personally, I don’t think it really stands out/adds to the burger experience, but if you’re into mayo in your burgers, you’ll probably be pleased. One annoying thing is that they’re cash or check only — so be sure to have some green on hand!

Oh onion rings, oh onion rings! You are so good to me. Go for the onion rings and shakes. Burger was good, but nothing you couldn’t get elsewhere and for less money. The double deluxe was massive but needed some ketchup added to it. Food was probably 3 ½ stars, but price bumps it down. Easier to just go to Five Guys.

I don’t normally add bacon on my burger, but it’s an absolute here. Whatever they do to their bacon it’s delicious and worth the extra money. And this location is great because I find that it’s less busy than the others locations, especially when trying to find a seat which I’m always able to do here. There is a small parking lot on the side, but street parking is easy to find. The onion rings are really, really good. The batter sticks to the onion when you bite into it, and the rings are huge. They have homemade tartar sauce to go with, which is good. I always order the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings — and you should, too! Just remember that Red Mill only accepts cash, so there is an ATM machine across the street at QFC.

I rarely have burger cravings but this place is the place to go when I do. Always get one with bacon since they have a giant stack of them. Onion rings are good too. Street parking. This place is a «cash only» so make sure you have dollar bills. Pics on Instagram @amanda.n_

We found this place by accident a few months ago and we’ve been back 3x now. I cannot say enough of how amazing their burgers are. Verde chicken burger was moist, flavorful with fire roasted Anaheim peppers, jack cheese a touch of red onion, lettuce, tomato mill sauce. Fries, crisp hot, fresh not greasy. 2nd time we came I decided to see what the rave was about their bacon cheese burgers. Hello I found my guilty pleasure after you hear you should bring your cholesterol down a notch. Thick pepper bacon, onion, pickle, lettuce, tomato, mill sauce on a perfectly toasted bun accompanied by their sparkling lemonade. The ingredients they use are fresh, keeping things simple in their chicken and beef burgers. Hands down worth the drive every time, always remember to bring cash and an empty stomach.

I’m not jumping on the Red Mill Burgers bandwagon. Suggested by a friend who luuuurves this place, I had some high expectations of a burger that would knock my flip flops off. That didn’t happen. Not even in the slightest. The food — I ordered a lettuce wrapped bacon and blue cheese burger. I didn’t know I was getting half the head of lettuce! The burger itself was well done(not good). It did have a nice flame-broiled char to it, which I actually really like. The bacon was so crispy it just crumbled. I guess this may have worked better on a bun… An order of fries were shared with my little person. Standard fries. Only made better by dipping them in the Mill Sauce… Which should actually be called Bomb Sauce since it’s really tasty(smokey, peppery mayo concoction). My little person got a grilled cheese. It’s made with standard wheat bread. Pretty basic, nothing fancy. A mint chocolate chip milkshake was shared… All the chocolate sank to the bottom and the stupid straw wasn’t big enough for the bits to fit through! The space — counter service. Friendly young people at the counter. The actual restaurant is small. Like, 12 booths/tables small. The booth we got had just been vacated and wasn’t wiped down. Good thing I carry some wet wipes in my purse! They do compost the majority of what the food is served with/on which is awesome. Free water from a jug. Cash or check only.

Their blue cheese and bacon burger is pretty good… very blue cheesy, I got a good amount on mines. I went just after dinner hours, and they had my burger done pretty quickly. Blue Cheese bacon burger, onion rings and a banana shake was a super delicious meal and hit my burger craving right in the gut!

The cash only policy really grinds my gears but I do like their food. I’m ok with cash only and I understand the policy b/c credit card fees are exorbitant but if you’re going to be cash only, please have an ATM in your store. Food is good! It’s a bit spendy as far as fast food goes– $ 6 – 7 for burgers a la carte but the quality is good and I’m a fan! Great shakes, too. Fries are also decent. I got 3 bacon burgers, 3 milkshakes, and 1 order of fries and the total was $ 36. The prices are aligned with casual dining prices rather than fast food prices. But yum! Parking is a drag. You’re lucky if you find a spot alongside their building but if not, you may be walking a bit.
