I ordered the red chili chicken and shrimp and it was delicious. It was fried and spicy. I haven’t tried anything else yet, but will definitely do so soon.

Amazing food! The best I’ve had in years. Everything we ordered was very fresh and delicious. Hot and sour soup and chicken and shrimp were delicious. Very reasonable prices.

I live in Seattle for 20 years I’ve eaten all kinds of Chinese food all over the state best Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life not just here but anywhere highest quality vegetables most tender meats best shrimp I’ve had a restaurant and that goes for high end seafood restaurants price is right, service is fast, and nice to deal with. A true diamond in the rough and one of the best restaurants not just Chinese that I’ve been to in a long time!!!

So we went here looking for dishes too to satisfy our new years eve dinner needs. Came in with some expectations hoping the food would be good but partly thinking. It would be a run of the mill Asian buffet style restaurant. I would be wrong, the setting is quite nice as were the staff. The first thing I liked was the tea they give you as soon as you sit down, a nice touch and change from the usual water especially coming in from the cold. We had the cream cheese crab puffs for appetizer, not bad but it seemed to be more cream cheese and less crab? I got the honey pork chops and man were they good, flavorful honey taste, nice and crispy and a lot of it which I like. Definitely something i d like to go back for and enough other options on the menu to try. I also had the Thai curry and shrimp which had a nice flavor as well again plentiful, lastly the coconut chicken was also delicious and creamy. The wine selection was good too. My only issue was while the service was good the staff would disappear for long periods of time… when waiting to order, needing sauces, waiting for the check, they just seemed to not be available it was a bit annoying, otherwise filling and flavorful meal. Would go back for sure.

Ate here with my family and we all loved the food! The Cham-Pong Noodle is spicy but so delicious! There were over three parties of 6 and still had great customer service. Definitely recommend if you’re in the Chinatown international district.

Trying this place for the first time. Really exited that they have beef with cauliflower and broccoli. Came out and tasted great but had one piece of cauliflower. Really? I asked for a little more in this $ 12 dish and was told they would have to charge me because cauliflower was more expensive than broccoli. Really? It’s cauliflower. Let’s do a little customer service here and give me a well rounded dish if you are calling it broccoli/cauliflower beef… more like broccoli beef with a cauliflower garnish.

Note: This review is only about their Jia Jiang Myun After searching«jia jiang myun» on Unilocal and seeing that Red Lantern was the first place to come up, I decided to give it a go before I headed to the train station. Food is quick and service is quick. The jia jiang myun is a little different than I’m used to, and a little pricier than most places($ 12). Though the soybean base and the cucumbers are all the same, they’ve also added scallops, squid and shrimp to the mix. I’m not complaining, but when it comes to classic dishes like jia jiang myun, I tend to like it traditional — as simple as possible. Red Lantern is a good place if you’re craving jia jiang myun, but it’s not the best I’ve had. I’m still searching.

After a great night at the Seattle Pinball Museum, I worked up a hefty appetite with my lovely girlfriend. We Unilocaled asian food and came up with a plethora of choices and we ended up here based upon the reviews. I grabbed the chicken, shrimp and garlic dish — she grabbed the red lantern vegtable dish. And perhaps the best part was the complimentary Sacred Mist Sake. I’m tired of typing, so just trust me when I say you will not be disappointed with any of these choices… Or many of the other dishes I saw served.

Went here for Chinese Food on Xmas Day. Do note that it can get crowded and they don’t take reservations for less than 4. I had the General Tsos chicken which was good but a little less spicy than I was expecting. You may want to push up if you are really looking for spicyness.

I’m in Seattle now visiting friends that used to be my neighbors in Philadelphia before we all moved to the West Coast. We all miss Han Dynasty, and my friends reported that they haven’t found a Chinese spot in Seattle that can measure up. I likewise have failed in San Francisco. I suggested that we try Red Lantern for takeout, and we were all impressed. We ordered the following: Hot and Sour Soup, Stir Fried Pea Stems, Shanghai Chow Mein(ordered vegetarian — the restaurant was very graceful in making this change!), Garlic Beef, Dan Dan Noodles, and Shredded Potato with Chili Oil. The Hot and Sour Soup and Stir Fried Pea Stems were outstanding. One of my friends is a real fiend for hot and sour and she reported it as one of the best that she’s had. The pea stems were tender and more flavorful than other similar dishes that I’ve had at other restaurants. The Shredded Potato with Chili Oil was tasty and had a nice, complex heat. The Garlic Beef was a little sweeter than I’d have liked but was also very flavorful. The garlic is powerful but it doesn’t dominate the other flavors in the dish. My wife enjoyed the Shanghai Chow Mein, and the seasoning on the Dan Dan Noodles was very good. The *one* problem that is holding this restaurant back is the noodles. The flavor profile is competitive with any Chinese I’ve ever had, but the noodles were just mediocre. I’m not 100% confident in this but they tasted like dried noodles to me. If Red Lantern featured a higher quality noodle(ideally hand drawn!), it’d be an easy 5 stars and would rank among my favorite Chinese spots in the nation.

Excellent quality and taste. The servers are so friendly and welcoming. The interior is nice for casual fine dining. What more could you want! I have tried so many different items on the menu and I have really enjoyed every dish. For those that enjoy Asian cuisine, they have something for everyone with seafood, noodles, souos, and meat entrees. Highly recommend this place to everyone.

Num Num. I love everything about this Chinese restaurant. The Staff is always so friendly The atmosphere and décor compliments the food well. I come over almost weekly from Kirkland to have lunch there. I always tell myself to try something different. The chicken & shrimp in garlic sauce– OHMYGOD it’s heaven. The corn tea is addicting The basil lime shrimp, Singapore noodles, fried dumplings, & rice cakes with chicken are all items I have really enjoyed as well. Writing this makes me was to go over for lunch today.

All the entrees I’ve had at Red Lantern has been amazing — this place meets all of my expectations, if not exceeds them. This is the best chinese restaurant in International District based on my experiece and I can’t help but to rave about this place. Here is the list of my favorites: 1. Dried red chili chicken 2. Mongolian beef 3. Salt and pepper pork chop 4. Basil lime shrimp 5. Black bean sauce noodles 6. Spicy seafood noodle soup 7. Chicken wings 8. Black tea crème brûlée Red Lantern has a nice, clean, and elegant interior. Service here is exceptional. The staff is friendly and courteous — there’s one staff, Isacc, who’s there most of the time and remembers my all time favorites: Dried red chili chicken and Mongolian beef. It’s what we order 90 percent of the time. Occasionally, I do like to deviate from our usual orders and try a new entrée — no regrets there, seriously, this place is awesome. I believe i’ve ran into the owners several times, a husband and wife team. They have this warm genuine smile and are very kind. I feel confident in recommending this restaurant to others. If you like Asian food, particularly Chinese, give this place a shot. I always have a great dining experience here. As a matter of fact, I’m currently dining here as I’m writing this review and undoubtedly I’m having a 5 star experience.

Basically if you want panda-express style food in China Town, this is your spot. The food was okay, certainly edible if you add hot sauce. The portion size for both the dishes were smaller than I’ve had at other restaurants in this neighbourhood. The menu was also smaller than I expected with mostly Americanised-items.

I came here with a colleague for lunch who was running late, and they happily served me some steaming hot corn tea. The corn tea was unexpectedly good and thankfully the service was still great despite my colleague showing up about forty-five minutes late. While perusing the menu, I noticed some great lunch specials! I ended up getting the sesame chicken, which came with soup, and jasmine rice. Overall, great flavor on both the soup and the chicken, and it was perfectly portioned. I will definitely be back if I need a quick and inexpensive lunch option in the International District!

Absolutely delicious lunch here before we boarded our Amtrak train headed for Portland. Got seated promptly despite a busy lunch time rush and ordered an appetizer of spring rolls to share followed by the singapore noodles. The spring rolls were a bit different that anything I’d ever had due to the addition of beef. It worked. The singapore noodles… major noms. Very flavorful thanks to the curry with the perfect amount of pork and shrimp. Also loved the onions and bean sprouts for some crunch. My husband ordered a garlic beef dish that was also out of this world. Everything came out hot and fresh. Service was prompt.

This place is alright. I had high hopes for the beef kimchi fried rice but it was plain, and I thought there was not enough beef in it. Crispy green long been was good, but not crispy. Mongolian Spicy lamb was their best dish– good heat, and the lamb was cooked well. Restaurant could have more lights. My waiter had a hard time understanding me, but he was nice. Would give this place another shot.

I was really excited to try this place because I’ve been craving for some lobster and crab. When I got there, they didn’t have lobster or crab available. Here’s a HUGETIP… you must call the restaurant in advance if you want those seafoods. Complete sadness. We ordered: Red Lantern Pot Sticker: Pan-fried pork dumplings with ground pork and shrimp with spicy sauce. Dumplings were flavorful and tasted fresh. Recommend this one! Roasted duck with wine sauce: Duck was ok. I lived in Los Angeles, CA so I’ve had better. Prawns w/Tomato Chili sauce: This was ok but I wished the batter was crispier.
