When we entered the place smelled of divinity, cheesey goodness. Myhusband and i got the gelato, amazing, in house made flavors. Quiet atmosphere!

Not easy to get to, but worth the trip, delicious gelato. We had the coconut, salted caramel was awesome also.

A bit off the beaten stairway path, this little spot was a surprise to find. Aside from The Best gelato I’ve ever had outside of Italy, they also have lunch and beer/wine to go with it. Can’t get more awesome than that. Oh, wait, you can… also have wifi and are very accommodating with me working remotely all the time(which also allows me to sample all the new gelato flavors). Totally recommend… worth it!

Best gelato place outside of Italy. The place hasn’t change a bit since I used to come here as a student 30 years ago. All flavors are Fresh, bright, true with a slight tangy taste. Highly recommended when near pike place area.

A hidden gem, indeed! Brides, listen up! Do you want to buy gelato in bulk for your big day? Look no further: Procopio is the way to go. Believe me, I researched high and low for gelato in Seattle for my wedding that was both: 1. Incredibly tasty. 2. Entirely affordable. Bonus: Dairy-free flavors abound! The shop is located on the hillclimb, so it can be a bit tricky to find if you don’t know the area. The cute patio(open in the summertime) and huge windows let me pretend for a minute that I’m in Europe. Super bonus awesome level: They have wine, beer, sandwiches and snacks — this is not your average gelato shop. Throughout the process of getting gelato for our wedding, Brian, the owner, was so helpful and flexible, which we greatly appreciated. We recently returned for anniversary gelato, and it was just as good as we remembered! Brian even remembered what we had ordered!

Having real gelato from Italy has made me look down upon a lot of ice cream and frozen yogurt shops. Nothing tops off a great bowl of gelato. Procopio Gelateria low-key reminded me of the italian gelato that I used to always get as a kid. The one thing that I do remember as a kid was that gelato should not need a scooper to be put into a bowl. I remember a metal spatula was used to put it into the bowl. I think just the change in utensils would make it feel more authentic for me. The one thing that really made me excited was that they kept the italian names of the gelato. My favorite growing up was the stracciatella gelato and as soon as I saw it, I knew immediately that that was going to be the one I am going to put in my mouth. For those who do not know, stracciatella is kind of like a vanilla based ice cream except it is creamier and tastes more milk based. It also has chocolate chips in it. And by chips i don’t mean the miniature chocolate kisses, I literally mean chips. Its kind of like when a chocolate bar is grated from a a very small and fine cheese grater and evenly distributed throughout the vanilla ice cream. Believe me, it is really really good. This place is kind of hidden. It is literally right below the market but above the waterfront and the piers. If you walk up all those stairs from the waterfront to the pike market, it is right before you have to cross the street and you see that statue of the pig. It is hard to miss if you walk up those stairs, unless you want to be lazy and take the elevators instead. I really enjoyed this place. Not to mention, the people behind the counter are always quick to give you samples if you want to try anything too. The hazelnut gelato was also really good too!

Where could you possibly get a healthy refreshing sorbet flavored Pineapple Basil or Douglas Fir? My favorite is by far is Douglas Fir flavored sorbet with green tea or a glass of red wine? It is a hidden gem between the Pike Place Market and the waterfront. It has a great patio in the summer time where you could sit out and enjoy the nice weather. The owner, Brian is most friendly and accommodating. He makes you feel like you have known him for years :-) It is a place where you could sit for hours without feeling rushed to go somewhere. It is not pretentious, it just feels like a place you can sit alone or with a company. I had my share of Gelatos in all over Italy and New York City, but these homemade Gelatos are fantastic and unique! I will be back for sure! Thanks Brian and Carol!

This was excellent. I hopped in to get away from a little rain coming through as I was walking the hill climb and succumbed to my frozen treat weakness. I ordered a cup with a small scoop each of chocolate and cappuccino and another with lemon. Both were excellent. The place was empty when I came in and the hostess was extremely friendly. As I was eating she and the other gentleman who was working prepared a fettucini with tomato sauce for their lunch and it smelled amazing. I wish it was either lunch or dinner time for me because I wanted some too!

I love this place! My favorite gelato flavors that they have are the mango, pistachio and coffee! I also love their pasta! Brian, the owner was very accommodating and he made sure that we were satisfied with the food that we ordered. Its a great place to hang out with friends and family! I disagree with the comment about how the place was describe as a funeral home, that is too harsh and its not like that at all. I think its a chill place where you can enjoy your food without the feeling of getting rushed.

I’ve eaten a lot of gelato in my day and this is definitely not anywhere near the best. The texture is more like ice cream and the flavors were so so. Like the reviewer below, it was like the gelato was leftover and old and they were scraping off the side. Walking into this place was like walking into a funeral home. Completely quiet and the girl behind the counter did not even greet us as we walked in. She barely spoke two words, gave me the sample I wanted to try and then tossed the container on the counter. Yes. Tossed. Then stared at us. I had to say«that’s all thanks may we pay?» Learn some customer service. No wonder no one was in the place.

Didn’t realize looking at the name that this would be a great lunch spot… but luckily, my blind date and I blindly stumbled upon this little eatery. Procopio performed valiantly by providing lunch time pasta and delicious soup at a reasonable price. There’s also gelato for after the meal, although we didn’t part take. Wish my date did nearly as well, but alas, no. 1 out of 2 ain’t bad. I will return, sans date.

Yum! I tried the orange champagne and coffee flavors, and they were really lovely. Very flavorful, and I remember trying some other gelato places that kinda tasted like nothing. Also, I love the weird flavors! The owner was telling me that sometimes he does, rose, lavender, and lots of other fun stuff.

Procopio is a local treat I stumbled upon while spending an afternoon in the Pike Place Market area. They have a great café menu with simple & classic pasta dishes and hot panini sandwiches. My favorite is the New Orleans-style muffuletta panini and, of course, a scoop of the Pineapple-Basil Sorbet. Bliss! I can’t wait to go back and try many more of their gelato flavors!

We were going to eat at Pike Place market but it was a zoo! We found Procopio on the walk to the aquarium. Small menu but what they have is very good. The gelato rocks!

Nice location but the gelato is one of the worse I’ve had. Fainting Goat has the best in Seattle!

Great location and great flavors. Located in the Pike St Hillclimb, Procopio is a small shop that favors quality over quantity. It also houses Il Corvo pasta, which is great, and a gelato provided the perfect dessert after a recent visit. Tried the nocciola or hazelnut and was not disappointed. Flavors are very natural and the texture is slightly less creamy than some of the other places in town. Even on a cold winter day, this place is awesome, and I can’t wait until I can try Procopio in the summer!

Wouldn’t change a thing about this place — really reminded me of places in Rome. Although no pistachio. Come on, I thought that was a quintessential gelato flavor. Never mind, the vanilla with chocolate flakes is pretty delicious too, and a really reasonable price. Highly recommend you come out and have a taste at this hole in the wall.
