Platinum Nails

Shellac mani lasted less than a week before chipping. The place I normally go to was booked and I needed a mani pretty bad… never again.

difficult to understand and communicate with, and they don’t respect appointment times. it’s first come, first served and don’t bother calling to ask about the wait either — they just lie and tell you to come in anyways.

Looking for a cheap mani/​pedi. I guess you get what you pay for. Watched the manicurist rip the toe separators off the client next to me and immediately put them on my toes, so gross. My mani was so bad I actually came home and repainted it. The staff was friendly but overall the place just gave me an unclean feeling. I will not be returning.

I have been coming to Platinum Nails for years and I am never disappointed! Patty is such a sweetheart and they carry OPI and China Glaze polishes so the color options are endless. More importantly, I am super clumsy and no matter how many times I mess up my paint job, no one ever complains about fixing me up! The chairs are comfy, the price is inexpensive, and the job is always well-​done.

I have been visiting a couple of nails shops in the city and their prices are varies based on different level of work they perform.
I have been a couple of those fancy nails shops in town that they can make your nails just as pretty as all the asian magazines with all the sparkling stones, super pretty and they charges around $ 60 to $ 80. Which I only go there occasionally when I have weddings to attend.
And I would visit the nails shop which only charge around $ 15 to $ 25 for a set of gel nails or shellac for my usual day basics. My 5 stars to Platinum based on what I got with the price I paid.
$ 25 for a set of shellac can last for 3 weeks with my glass looking shiny nails. Well worth it. It takes around 30 to 45 minutes for the ladies to have my shellac done which including hand massages with lotion and oil, they would wipe off the oil and lotion with a super warm towel which made me feel so good.
Pedicure which last for the at least the whole 3 weeks too until I go back for my next visit to do my shellac nails. $ 15 to make my toes all look pretty with massage included.
Patty, the owner (I guess so because I saw there was a couple of her bottles were printed with the name when she used them), is being very serious on the nails and she would peak on other ladies work and give them comment in vietnamese to make their work look more perfect.
There is one more thing I love about this place. Patty picked good music to play in the shop such as jazz and piano including Norah Jones which I really appreciate how they make the place more relaxing for their customers. I took my girlfriends there and they all love the place and went back on their owns too.
Being honest, Platinum is not the best nails shops I have in town if I compare with other fancy Japanese shops I have experienced. But it is definitely my first pick when I am looking for something simple yet neat on my nails for my everyday wearing and I go back to this place every 3 weeks since my very first visit a couple months ago.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place and I will keep going too on my regular basics.

After they finished my pedicure she took the basket that she was using with my dirty tools in it, and sat down in front of the next customer and started using the dirty tools. I had tried to ask her earlier if they were clean, and how they cleaned them, but she just looked at me and didn’t understand what I was talking about. I couldn’t find anybody working there that could speak English well enough to tell me about their cleanliness procedures.
I told the customer that she was preparing to work on that those were my dirty tools, and she may not want to get a pedicure.

Clean, friendly staff and professional

This place is GREAT. Everyone is very friendly and eager to make you feel relaxed and taken care of. I’ve been going there for years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Their prices are unbeatable and they’re owner is the best! Stop in, I promise you won’t be sad you did. :)
