Fantastic! I tried the orange grapefruit tea and it was just the right taste for me. I highly suggest this tea place if you’re a tea lover.

Nice, quaint and quiet spot to purchase loose tea leafs and teapots and cups. It had been years since I’ve been here; I’m glad to see the business is still there helping people with smiles and information to select the best options. I purchased a cute teapot to make Moroccan Mint tea like I learned while in Marrakech last month. I’m pretty excited

TEAriffic! For those who love tea or those who want something more than just your bargain boxed bags from the supermarket, this is the place to go. Located in Post Alley of a portion of the street I had not found till recently, this gem has been a locally owned small business for over 23 years. They purchase their tea ingredients from over 10 different companies giving you a huge selection and variety, plus they mix and make many of their own. With a HUGE selection of loose leaf teas and reasonable pricing for your per/oz purchase, I had to stop myself from purchasing some samples of everything in the store! You can purchase by the oz or there is ½ oz sample bags for $ 2 so you can try it before committing to 4oz of tea. All the teas are located in large jars which and the staff is friendly and encourages you to open and smell the different varieties. I ended up taking home a sample of apricot-peach and almond sugar cookies, both of which have been incredible! They even have other retail(tea kettles, accessories, specialty pre-bagged/boxed teas) which is perfect for gifts or a nice self-care gift to yourself. If you live in the area, this is a must try. If you don’t make sure you visit this location when you are in the area… or visit their website to purchase tea they will then ship to you.

A little cold/uncomfortable for a tea room. Sure, there was a great selection of tea, but it was kind of creepy quiet and there was like, only 2 tiny 2 person tables to sit at if you planned on having a cup there. Would rather take the tea to-go.

Outstanding teas. The aroma is evident as you walk into the store. You are able to receive some of the sample teas they have brewed however they are able to brew any tea of your choice. Great folks also work in this place. Overall a good visit to keep you warm in the cold fall and winter time.

A great store on Post Alley that both sells loose-leaf tea and will also serve up their offerings brewed to-go. They have a great selection of teas including traditional flavors and more creative mixes — coconut, ginger, etc. — as well as teaware and gifts.

I love this shop. They let you smell all the teas and sell a huge variety of loose leaf teas which are great! I purchased the Lemon Chamomile with lavender loose leaf tea and the maple walnut sencha and they are both in my top 3 tea list already! If you don’t know anything or would like recommendations the staff is VERY knowledgeable and friendly. They had some teas already brewed so I got some samples before buying anything. this place is definitely worth stopping by(They also have a website).

Wonderful teas brewed to order and four daily varieties served hot when you walk in. Try the ginger shortbread cookies! It is a treat to have them in the Market!

For those of us who love to «do tea» with scones and sandwiches and properly brewed tea… this is NOT the place to go. However, for those of us who also love to shop for unique and delicious tea leaves, this IS the place to stop at if you are in the area. Perennial Tea Room is filled with a large and unique assortment of loose tea leaves to be purchased in any size you wish. There are also many different price points. We have approximately 79 different teas in our cupboard and Perennial has become in our top 3 teas. When you buy an almond flavored tea, there are actual pieces of almond in it. Many times I purchase tea leaves only to discover that the promised flavor is sorely lacking. Not at Perennial. If you purchase a cappuccino flavored tea, it delivers cappuccino. In addition, we had the pleasure of dealing with the husband who owns the store with his wife. He was never pushy and very informative. He was also very friendly. He listened to us describe the flavor profiles we prefer and gave several suggestions. When we arrived home from our vacation, we were thrilled with our purchases. This store is a must for anyone who loves tea. Can’t make it to Seattle? Order online. I wouldn’t normally suggest that when buying tea, but I have so much confidence in this store and what they sell, I can highly recommend it.

Haven’t had a chance to try any of the loose tea I bought yet, but 5 stars for the customer service. The lady who helped me was happy to explain things, in addition to just letting me sniff around and checking in with me periodically. Tons of varieties of teas, it all smelled so good! Little off the beaten path, which is nice. Very cute store, reasonably priced, great choice in products.

Just down the street from pike place, this place is a nice little sanctuary from the hustle and bustle. The staff is helpful and friendly and eager to explain any of the 100 flavors to you. Also quick to offer samples of whatever is currently prepared. The shop has lots of cute tea odds and ends, which make great gifts!

Tea was the perfect way to quench my thirst after consuming so much coffee in Seattle. Perennial Tea Room was the perfect break from the hustle and bustle of the market. There are two tables outside, and it’s still within the market, so you’re right in quiet, good for people watching, Post Alley. There aren’t any samples, but you can smell all of the teas from the containers on the shelves. There are so many flavors here: Lime, Chocolate Coconut, Earl Gray crème, and even something called«Wedding Tea» to name a few. Perennial sells loose leaf tea as well as all of the appropriate equipment like diffusers and tea pots, but you can also order hot or iced tea on the premises. I ordered an iced, seasonal tea — White Champagne Raspberry. It was a delicate, fruity, refreshing tea that’s perfect for summer. I also bought a sample-sized bag of the Lavender Earl Gray. You can’t beat a refreshing drink and some tea to take home for only $ 5. Perennial’s only downfall is that the employees aren’t too friendly.

What a delightful gem of a shoppe! My husband and I just moved to Seattle and stumbled upon the Perennial Tea Room. We are both tea novices and wanted to learn more. Sue was absolutely delightful — so patient, knowledge and fun! She helped us navigate the fantastic selection of loose teas and helped us select three different kinds to take home. This is an oasis in the hustle of the Pike Place Market. If you love tea, or just want to learn more, go visit with Sue at the Perennial Tea Room. We plan to hang out there often — thank you so much, Sue!

Great selection of tea both loose leaf or in sachets. Also a good amount of different pots and cups that are purchasable. Friendly knowledgeable staff with a calm setting. This place has a calming feel to it. Plus it’s off the direct pikes place path so you can hit it up while touristing around but it’s not crazy busy with foot traffic. Well worth venturing off of the beaten path for this place!

Fantastic tea and service. I have been buying tea from them since 2003 and have never found a tea I don’t like. The staff is attentive and gracious. I have only been there in person twice, so I can speak to their mail order service. Having lived in New Hampshire and now Arizona, I usually get my order within a few days. On the rare occasions there is a problem, they call me to let me know. This store is a tea lovers paradise.

The staff at the shop are very knowledgeable about tea and friendly. Their selection is great. They have a variety of herbal flavors, including rooibos, decafe teas, black teas, green, chai blends, even Thai tea. Their tea pots and accessory selection is good, too. This store is great for the tea lover. Check it out!

Stopped in here for the first time last week. I can’t believe I never made it in before! I’m at the market all the time and see this tea shop tucked away in post alley, but have always taken care of my tea needs at market spice. For now on, i’ll be coming here. The man who helped me was extremely friendly and helpful. The teas all smelled like heaven and the ones I tasted were really yummy. I got an iced green tea to go and brought home some Jasmine tea. The vibe is chill, tucked away from the hustle and bustle but convienient to the market madness.

There is something so magical about little tea shops. They’re peaceful, quiet and welcoming. This little tea place is located in the Post Alley so you’ll have to make a little detour while you are roaming around Pike Place. However — it’s a great time to just take a breath from all that crazy, pushy traffic of people. It’s not too big of a place but enough for people to walk around and check out all that they have to offer. There were two women who welcomed us as we came in. Both of them were very sweet and friendly but slightly more on the quieter/shy side. I wish they were more willing to talk to us or ask us if we needed anything. We had to initiate the asking as we were browsing but that’s okay too! The right side of the shop offers things from tea bags to tea party crackers. I adore that they have small little scent jars that you can pick up and smell to get an idea of the kind of aroma and taste you’ll get from the teas. They also have beautiful tea sets that would make a great gift for any tea lover. On the left side of the shop is their set of loose leaf teas. These are teas that you’ll need a tea strainer for in order to get the aroma and taste of the tea but not all the tea leaves in your tea cup. They also sell tea strainers here if you’re just starting to get into loose leaf teas. I actually prefer loose leaf teas over the tea bags because I feel like they give a stronger taste and aromatic feel. However, if you don’t have the time to brew your own loose leaf teas they offer loose leaf tea satchels. These are basically tea bags but made with loose leaf teas that you just stick in your cup! The loose leaf teas they have are in giant jars and they sell them by the ounce. You can also get a ½ ounce if you choose and some of the teas have minimum requirements. Most of them seem to have a minimum of 2 oz. They have loose leafs from green tea to black tea to white tea and others. I was afraid to pick up the jars and open them to smell them but I finally got around to asking if I could and she said I was welcome to. I love the smell of green tea leaves and had a lot of fun just taking in the aroma. I came here to get a birthday gift and ended up going for the Dragonwell green tea. This is one of their best sellers because it’s not overly potent and strong like the Gunpowder is. We were originally going to get 4 oz of it but only 3 oz fit into the canister that we wanted to get. If you don’t buy a canister for the tea they will either put it into a zip lock bag or a brown bag. They are willing to wrap these if you are giving it as a gift. The other option is to just buy the canister(which comes in 3 sizes and vary in price) which then they will just slide the tea leaves into the canister for you. 3 oz of the Dragonwell and a medium canister came to be a bit over $ 15. We were quite pleased with the prices here and I know that this canister will be several cups of teas. I will definitely be back for more tea products!
