So I came here with my school’s alumni. We ordered food and drinks and were told it would take 45 minutes it’s a Saturday so I completely understand the timeframe. After an hour and fifteen minutes I asked one of the servers if I could make a complaint since our food had not arrived(this was my second time questioning as a guy brought the wrong food to us and said he had the correct order number). He said«do you see you aren’t the only person in here?» I understand I am not the only person in an establishment but when I’ve waited more than I’ve been told and been talked rude to that’s a new issue. I don’t tolerate this type of business as I know there are many other bars in the Seattle area that could easily accommodate my needs. I would recommend to MAYBE come here if it’s an off night when no one else will be here so you can be treated correctly. If not, check a list of other local bars in the area.

Exellent service. Always treated very well every time I come here. All of the bar tenders really seem to care and make sure that you are enjoying yourself also aren’t afraid to let people know when they are cut off! Will make this my main bar :)

We tried coming here to use our Underdog gift certificate but we were denied because of an argument that the two parties were having. It was pretty awkward to be in the middle of it, but our server kindly comped us a pitcher of beer. We ordered some tater tots and lumpia to share while we finished our pitcher of Manny’s. The tots were pretty good, nice and crispy! It was interesting to see lumpia on the menu, which is why I wanted to try it, but it wasn’t too bad — but probably wouldn’t order it again. Pretty pricey for $ 8, I think. The ambiance is very much like what you’d expect a pub/dive bar to feel like. I like that they have a ping pong table and lots of TVs around the room. The location isn’t super convenient and I wish they had more food options.

I have been here for two different sporting events and there is always a place to sit. I love watching football with a crowd but this was busy, while still being able to watch the game. Why 3 stars you ask? It’s a bar. Nothing amazing. The service is ok. The food is standard bar food. Will I go here again? Probably. Is it a must see? Probably not.

Delightful neighborhood spot. Good beers, cheap drinks, good bar food. Great place to watch NFL and hang with good friends.

Why is there always more people standing outside of this place smoking than there are inside of the bar? Why do they have a bottom shelf that has a bunch of differnt liquor in plastic bottles? Why do they have a giant cowbell in the middle of the bar. Why did some random guy start ringing that cowbell, give a Braveheart speech and then buy everyone in the bar a shot. Why did I drink said shot when the bartender told me it was called a mind eraser? Why did I wake up with an awful hangover? Why didn’t I just drink a beer, play bar games and go home? Lesson learned… Old 99. Go for the beer, go for the games, stay away from the shots.

I recently went here for the thursday night triva, and it was so much fun! Th MCs are great with some of the best categories I hve heard, with pretty good prizes. I can’t wait to go back for my next triva night!

Absolutely terrible! I ordered nachos and beer. Worst nachos ever. Basically a plate of plain chips with 3 shreds of cheese. I gave it back and asked for something put on the chips and they added a tiny but more cheese and gave it back. Awful! Never goin back

Went to hang out with some friends. Had the nachos and they were pretty respectable. Frankly I thought the atmosphere was weird, they had a trivia game going that was kind of annoying. It was a decent place and it was fairly empty(I went on a Wednesday night). Nothing special, but the food was decent. No wait staff, had to go to the bar to order and pick up drinks. They did bring food to the table. Even despite it being odd, I think I would go back, just maybe on another night.

Simple bar with beer at average prices. Didn’t try any of the food so can’t speak to that.

Good food, great alcohol selection. Very welcoming and enjoyable. Not quite a dive but far from being uptight.

A friendly neighborhood bar with a caprese sandwich rocks. I ventured with my missus to meet up with a friend for Wednesday night trivia. For dinner I had the Caprese Sandwich($ 10) and she had the turkey club with a side salad($ 12) instead of TATERTOTS! Being Australian, she was bit confused by the 3D mini-hashbrowns, but the salad provided balance to the deep fried-ness of the tots. I ended up enjoying the Turkey club more because of the fresh and soft roll it was served on. It was more my taste than the toasted, buttered, plain white bread my sandwich came with. Decent selection of beers on tap, with a full bar full of daily shooter specials. Trivia was fun, not too hard, and fairly cheap($ 5 for a team). Prizes included gift certificates to the bar, skittles, bottle of champagne, and boatloads of fun. The host Daniel has a great sense of sarcastic humor. Definitely going back next Wednesday to catch up with friends.

This is the kind of casual sports bar that your friend would open. Where it’s more important that everybody talks with everybody in a laid-back environment versus having a fancy bar menu and cocktails you can’t pronounce. Since it’s right on Aurora, parking can be dicey but I’ve been lucky so far. You can’t miss it because of the cute sayings that they post on their large interstate-inspired sign. Inside, they have pool to play, TV’s to watch and exceptionally friendly bar staff who remember you. The food isn’t the focus here, but if you need something to soak up your beer, or their drink(s)-of-the-day then it’ll do in a pinch. Nachos, mozzarella sticks, burgers, fries etc. It’s all pre-frozen food so again, the food is more of an afterthought but since you are hanging with your new friends, you won’t even care. My critique would be regarding the beer from the tap – it wasn’t cold the last time I went in, and it looks like they really measure the amount of marinara sauce they give you with those mozz sticks haha the little ramekin was 1⁄3 full the first time and the second round I asked for was ALMOST half-full *chuckle* Aside from that, this place is A-OK in my book! ^_^

Extensive tap menu, friendly staff, big space, a dart board, and a PINGPONGTABLE! I was a little sad to see K&K go away, but am very glad that Olde 99 came in to take it’s spot. Their food menu is great for a pub with lots to choose from, the place is never too packed, plenty of seating, lots of TVs around to watch your favorite sporting event, and like I said the ping pong table is pretty clutch. The clientele in this pub has always been super-friendly so if you’re into playing ping pong you can usually get a game of doubles going with strangers. This place is lots of fun. They also have different theme nights throughout the week(trivia night, ping pong tourney, etc.) which I’ll have to get a handle of and come during those times. If you’re looking for a pub with character and good people, come here!

Finally been here during operating hours, so time to review. Olde 99 has a lot of great things: bartenders, ping pong /pool table(they top the pool table with a ping pong thing), specials, seating, outdoor patio. I must start going to more neighborhood bars. When my friend and I came in, a regular bought us otter pops– do try them! Sweet and very like their namesake. I will have to come back in for trivia and ladies’ night(Thursday). Wednesday is whiskey Wednesday, which I highly recommend.

Huge improvement over the Kangaroo and Kiwi: Cheap AND clean, plus super friendly and attentive service. Puts the FUN in Sunday Funday. Best part? You can bring your dog inside!(Just ask the bartender first). Read my full review on the dog-friendly Olde 99 Pub here:

Great staff nice upgrade to what it was before. We’re still waiting for our name on the tree! Nice edition to the Greenlake area. Still haven’t tried to food, just an avid booze sampler :)

Olde is new… or at least for now, a new bar on Aurora that just fits in with the neighborhood. Completely unpretentious, and with 4 different shots for $ 4, including a mind eraser, it’s a place to mainly drink. And talk. And also watch a lot of sports. The old kangaroo and kiwi space feels very familiar yet nicer. And the large windows overlooking Aurora always provide for some of the best people watching in Seattle. In addition to shots, they also have about 20 beers on draft, and as expected, a good mix of local and non-local brews. They also serve food, but I didn’t have a chance to try any yet. In any case, it’s nice to have another bar open up in the old K&K space, and definitely a nice stop for a few drinks on Aurora.
