So glad we found this place. I had a real panini, something as a Celiac I never thought was possible, and it was so yummy. Great prices, knowledgeable staff and cute atmosphere. My only request is for more dairy free desserts, since most Celiacs can’t do dairy. Lovely place though, we will return.

It’s really hard to find great tasting bread that’s gluten free as it’s not the same. This place can definitely put together a very nice gluten free sandwich. I wished the sandwich and Panini offerings had a equal portion mixture of meat and veggies. Based on the menu, you either had to pick something that’s cater towards vegetarians or fully on meat lover. Sometimes, I just like a really good mix of meat and veggies. Didn’t get a chance to taste the yummy looking dessert. I will definitely have to come back and taste their other items.

Delicious food and good prices. Very cute little place by Seattle U. This was my second time here and my favorite thing is the waffle-Ini. I got the just jam one. Crispy on the outside soft on the inside yum!!! Decided to try the avocado toast this time for something smaller, it was good but nothing extraordinary. I will probably get the fried egg panini next time, which was amazing.

Delicious gluten free goodies, not a phrase you will often hear this celiac chick say too often. The lemon slice is sublime and the sarnies taste like a real one, with a proper baguette. The staff here are also a bit lovely, which helps. Love coming to a place where The food is great and I don’t have an opportunity to inadvertently poison myself

Delicious food, cute atmosphere, sweet and helpful staff! I’ve been twice with my husband and we have loved everything. The paninis are TODIEFOR. A little crispy on the edges, soft and springy on the inside, pressed to perfection with awesome layers of meat, cheese, or veggies. And the waffles… yum! We really enjoyed the waffleini(like a panini made with waffle) with Nutella. The toast we chose was great-a thick slice of top quality bacon on perfectly ripened avocado… mmmm…still thinking about it. We also thoroughly enjoyed many baked goodies that we bought to-go(lemon bar, chocolate chewy cookie, brownie pie, and oatmeal Nutella cookie). The menu really has something for everyone. And guess what? You can bring all your gluten-loving friends here, too, because they won’t notice any difference. Thank you, Niche, for filling our bellies with fantastic food!

Niche is just what’s needed on 12th Avenue in southern Capitol Hill. It’s fantastic gluten-free food at reasonable prices and it does not take forever to order and pick up or eat in. The woman who owns it is friendly and efficient and the people who work there are the same. No annoying hipster explanations for why the pumpkin seeds they are serving you cost as much as a pair of new shoes. Just really fantastic bread and sandwiches and other staples that they make themselves. The homemade bread isn’t too thick and actually tastes like real bread(as opposed to the ten-pound gluten-free bread at other places nearby) and the melted cheese on a lot of the sandwiches is excellent. Nice salads, desserts, and kid’s food, too. Here, gluten-free does not mean a lack of sanitary conditions in terms of service from people who equate gluten-free with not bathing, nor does it mean spending more than you make in order to have a small portion of mediocre experimental oddly-matched tasting plates. It’s just a fantastic place to have lunch if you have good taste and happen to be gluten-free. And the service is fast. Highly recommended!

lunch food: pastrami swiss dijon. it tastes like a classic sandwich. warmed and gooey at the center from the cheese and meat. the pastrami was so tasty. not too salty. the only con was its size. it was literally only a few bites. ill admit i take big bites. ***4/5 service: a small and quaint spot. the menus are hung like laundry on the sides. it took me awhile before i figured that out. the staff was nice and orders come out pretty quick. ***4/5 value: for what i got, it was really expensive. was there a gluten free tax on this? dont get me wrong, the food was great. i paid 10+ for a sandwich and i was still very hungry afterwards. i can eat 2 or 3 of them and i can be satisfied by a half footer next door at the sandwich chain. however good it is, i dont think i can afford it. ***2/5

I adore this kind of café. Thoughtful, special, personal, tasty, and unique. I stopped in for a coffee and an after-lunch sweet treat. I don’t eat gluten-free, but was confident the café would have something I would like, and I was not disappointed. I chose their chocolate chewy cookie and, gluten-free or not, I’d eat this cookie every damn day I could get my hands on one! The drip coffee was delicious. Friendly, smiley service, lovely décor, thoughtful presentation. A nice addition to the neighborhood! I can’t wait to try their lunch offerings!

I REALLY was excited when this place opened. Great potential. I’ve eaten there 3 times and each time has been a disappointment. Damn it! You first walk in and get a very awkward impression, the menus are placed next to a sign saying don’t complain. Defensive much? Anyway, let’s let the food speak for itself. The first visit was to get bakery goods. The coffee cake was uneatable as it was so dry. Why would you sell something so dry for such a high price? You can go to nuflours, flying apron or Madison market and get gluten free baked goods that are FAR superior for the same price. The lemon slice had great flavor but yet again tasted stale, like the fat in the pastry had gone bad. The second visit was for a panini. The panini was $ 12 from memory and was more of a greasy pancake with filling wrapped in paper. I was so excited about this as paninis can translate well into gluten free but it was small and underwhelming. The pastrami was actually nice but the lack of imagination with a $ 12 or $ 11 panini was profound. No herbs? No condiments? No side? As I said before, the bread was more like a pancake than a panini. Please try homegrown, honeyhole, or even 8oz burger, 2 doors down, Capitol cider or lunchbox laboratory for a grilled gluten free sandwich I actually am going to stop there because my other visit was worse and I don’t want to come across as mean spirited, but it was bad and uninspired. I really hope this place reassesses itself and works through its problems because gone are the days where gluten free people will put up with such substandard food in a city full of creative food professionals. A real pity.

Having recently needing to go wheat free for health reasons, it’s been a challenge adjusting my diet. I was visiting Seattle and was lucky enough to happen upon this gem. I purchased a lemon bar, raspberry bar, mini pecan pie and a chocolate cookie aptly called the ooey gooey. All were flawless and I challenge anyone to notice they were gluten free. They also have a great menu for a quick meal, and everything smelled amazing. The staff were very friendly and the shop was immaculate. The only thing I saw that maybe needs improvement is that it’s a bit dark inside. Maybe some lamps or additional ceiling lighting to brighten things up? Regardless, I’ll be back again soon and I recommend it to anyone to visit Niche whether you’re gluten free or not.

First time trying out this new bakery. It’s great to have Gluten Free options galore. Menu is filled with sandwiches and salad options. Staff were super friendly! We tried a Salami-Swiss-Pesto($ 9) sandwich & a Pastrami-Swiss-Dijon($ 11) sandwich this afternoon. Both seemed tasty but too pricy for what we got. We took them to go and one piece of bread got all gooey and stuck to the wrapper. Sandwiches were kid size and not very hearty. They were toasted which I love, but perhaps I’ll try something else on the menu next time and dine in. Go and explore the menu.
