The beef stew and lamb burger were awesome! Was informed they have traditional music on Mondays. We’ll definitely be back for that and more food!

Finally owned and run by an Irishman. First and foremost, you can’t believe how good the service is. Can’t say enough about the positive changes to what this place SHOULD have been for the last 10 plus years. Up untill tonight we have usually dropped in for their Happy Hour,(oh my you have to have to try their Irish Nachos, especially if you love tiny potatoes). but tonight we decided to try Murphys for dinner, and were we ever happy! had the«special» Lamb chops, 3 beautiful chops, perfectly done, medium rare, great sides and my husband had the meatloaf, wow! So reasonably priced, and great live Irish music too. Don’t miss this gem in tge Wallingford neighborhood.

This place has gotten so much nicer since their facelift and general overhaul. Great food, excellent beer list, and super friendly staff.

Murphy’s Pub in Wallingford has at least one essential requirement for an Irish pub. A genuine Irish owner. Or co-owner at any rate. Eamon was welcoming and engaged with his customers while busy serving them and interacting with his competent, friendly staff. The food is solid pub food, done well and served speedily. I wandered in by accident on a Thursday night, and for a large restaurant pub on a Thursday it was jumping with a crowd happily playing team Trivia. I have to guess Murphy’s is doing something right to be so popular on a non-weekend.

If you haven’t been to Murphy’s in a while, you should take another look as they’ve made a lot of positive changes since their change of ownership. They really decided to focus on the food this time around and their menu really shows that. They have a diverse selection and everything I’ve had is quite good. Their fried chicken is just plain delicious and their reuben is one of the best I’ve had. I’m within walking distance of Murphy’s but never really went because it was just another pub to me. Now, I try to make it every week or so. They also allow kids during the day which is great since we have a new brunch place we can go to on the weekends. My daughter loves it.

My, my, Murphy’s, how you’ve changed! The divey, strange open-mic-on-a-Wednesday bar with ok dart boards and terrible food has become a welcoming, warm neighborhood hangout with the most surprisingly delicious lamb sliders and lovely performers. Love the changes you’ve made, we’ll be back!

Very well put together, comfortable bar. Bar tenders are very attentive, and the service has been quick every time I’ve been here. Pretty solid draft selection. A decent amount of styles, and good beers in each category. Taps rotate somewhat frequently, but don’t expect new beers every week. Food is pretty solid. I’ve had the wings, and the chicken tenders; both have been fantastic. Their wings are the perfect amount of spicy that isn’t over the top to burn the taste out of your mouth. Lastly, TRIVIA! Their trivia on Thursday nights is great! Excellent host, good crowd, relatable yet challenging questions. If you’re looking for a reason to check this place out, come Thursday for some trivia and drinks.

Stopped in for an early dinner and brew. The service was great and the food was amazing. Husband ordered a Reuben and said it’s the best one he has had to date in Seattle. Huge portions. We will definitely be going back.

Came here on a Friday night for Happy Hour. after we tried to go to Octopus Bar and they were closed due to a power outage(huge storm!!) so we headed over. It is a cozy place, a wide range of ages here. :) Good happy hour for food selections. we ordered the irish nachos, poutine, lamb sliders(comes with 2 per plate), hummus platter, and the artichoke dip(off the main menu). Everything was good, poutine gravy was a bit salty for me(comes with a guinness gravy). loved the mini potatoes with the irish nachos! Lamb sliders were really good, still can smell/taste a bit of gamey flavor. Mmm and the artichoke dip was good! Prices are really great for happy hour for the food. Service was okay, waitstaff could have been friendlier. We had someone in our party who is allergic to garlic, and they weren’t the most helpful in determining what had garlic in it and what would be safe for her to eat. also, saw a sign that kids are welcome before 9pm. It was a bit hard for us to find someplace to sit, and towards the end of the time, we did see others come in and have to wait because there weren’t enough tables.

Yesterday I made a day trip to Seattle for a wedding. My flight had me arriving at SEATAC at 9AM so I stopped for brunch at Murphy’s while I was waiting for the afternoon wedding to start. I am a bennies fanatic. There is no better breakfast! So when given the opportunity to try bennies I always choose them. There were several different types of bennies on the menu. I prefer a different meat than ham, so I had Katie’s, which had fresh crab. OMG. I died and went to bennie heaven. They were so yummy! I have certainly never had better. I’ve eaten a lot of bennies, lol. Afterwards I had the bread pudding. Another home run! One of the owners of Murphy’s Irish Pub is a distant relative, which is why I originally chose to stop there. But I would definitely return, just to have the food and hang out in the authentic Irish environment. Thank you Murphy’s for a memorable meal.

Months after the rebirth of Murphy’s, the food is still delicious, the staff and owners are friendly, attentive and consistent and the atmosphere is warm(or cold with these crazy hot days and their air conditioning!). It’s nice to have a kid friendly pub option in Wallingford with late night eats, live music and a brunch on the weekends! Yes, BRUNCH on the weekends from 9 to 3, the perfect compliment to those wild nights before. As for brunch, I just had their biscuits and gravy with a side of eggs. Nice portion, seasoned very well and quick out of the kitchen. Worth every penny. Last weekend I had the crab benny, also damn good.

The new Murphy’s is wow. This is a very fresh rebirth with a professional bar and kitchen staff. The new owner is a complete sweetheart and a serious businessman. The old Murphy’s was sold, closed, completely refurbished, and re-opened to raves from old and new customers alike. I’m one of them.

This pub has really improved their food in the last year; I didn’t care for it before, but they must’ve got a new chef. It’s wayyyy better, especially the Reuben and real fish and chips. The last two bands I saw there were really good, Carragline, and the Surly Goats. My boyfriend likes the old Irish songs, bagpipes and all that, so he’s super happy here. I like it because it’s not pretentious and the food is great. Drink prices are about the same as they are everywhere. Definitely the best Irish pub in the area.

The Ruben may very well be the best, possibly in contention with a bar back in Boston, but spectacular none the less. This place is the spot to go for live music and seriously good beer selections.

Ray: This is gonna be easy! Check it out: Murphy’s Pub @ 1928 N 45th St. in Wallingford. This wasn’t the first time I had ever been to Murphy’s. In fact, I went there not too long after they opened in 1981. I remember the place was still kinda new. Then, more recently, Josh and I went there for a Thursday night out. But now, Murphy’s is under new ownership. They closed for a few weeks while they did some remodeling. Josh and I figured that a new owner essentially makes the place new — to us… so that’s where we went, so there! Murphy’s exterior didn’t change much at all with the new owners. It still has that Irish look to it, only as we entered the establishment, I noticed right away that the Irish theme carried on inside too with traditional Irish music and décor. The old Murphy’s was only Irish on the outside, inside it was a regular bar(if memory serves me). We sat ourselves and were quickly met by a very attractive and experienced waitress. I ordered an IPA for starters. I just asked for a good one. I wasn’t disappointed. She did great, only I forgot to ask which IPA it was… oy. The menu fare was pretty much Irish type food. I went for the Corned Beef and Cabbage, an Irish stand-by staple. The wait was what I would call normal, but the presentation of the food(delivered by the chef, I believe) was outstanding. And the best was yet to come… The flavors were so very good. It certainly ranks among one of the best meals we have had in our Thursday nights out. I was very satisfied. Murphy’s is a stand-out on the block. Most folks that haunt Wallingford know of it by name. We felt very welcome and the wait staff were pros. Just the right amount of attention, leaving us wanting nothing. The food was surprisingly great! I can award no less than five stars to Murphy’s Pub. And to the new owners I say, «Outstanding job and keep up the good work!» Josh: This Thursday did something we don’t normally do; we revisited a place. However, I found a loophole in the«Thursday dinner with my Dad» by-laws that states that a restaurant can be revisited if it has undergone a remodel, or a change of ownership, or both. Murphy’s has undergone a minor remodel, and a major overhaul on the menu. The dining room is large, with a stage in the corner. It was mostly empty(as our Thursdays usually are), so we sat down right away. The server was there within a minute to take our drink orders and drop off the menus. Traditional Irish fare throughout, I ordered the pork chop, but there was a couple other dishes that were all tied for second place. I’m certainly going back to get a taste of the shepherd’s pie. The presentation was amazing. It was smothered with a sweet red sauce(I wish I could tell you what it was, but I can’t remember and the menu isn’t posted online yet) and apples. It was leaning on a wedge of cabbage, little potatoes on the side, and a slab of heavy irish bread with soft spreadable butter. It. Was. Delicious. I mean, seriously. Good ambiance, Irish music playing, the obligatory digital clock counting down the minutes and seconds(and tenths of seconds) till St. Patrick’s Day that is so very ubiquitous in good Irish pubs. I have absolutely no complaints about my experience there. I will definitely be back, and probably soon. 5 stars.

Murphys Irish pub has re opened under new management. Paddy coynes, fado, et al… watch out. You might have some stiff/authentic competition. Time will tell but I just had some tasty fish and chips and then stuffed myself with corned beef and cabbage. Fish n chips. Great steak fries. Fresh large portion of fish. Crispy. Got gummy cuz they set it on top of the fries and the bottom steamed. Feel confident they will work out the kinks. Prompt service. Lively Irish music playing. Clean updated décor. Worth the wait of the build out for a neighborhood institution to return with its original charm and an infusion of passion. The corn beef and cabbage. Cabbage was Crunchy fresh slightly buttery. Well seasoned. Corned beef. Also well seasoned and left that great beef flavor lingering on your palate. Mashed potatoes weren’t the best I’ve ever had but were obviously made in house as opposed to instant which too many places do. all of the food was phenomenal especially for a pub. Consider it a lil closer to a gastro pub. Or just an Irish restaurant that serves lots of booze

The staff and the crowd that comes here has always been wonderful. You’ll often find some good live music here. The the beer selection isn’t huge, but there’s enough that you’ll find something that works well for you. I last came here with a group of friends, I think the best thing we ordered was the pulled pork sandwich. The basket of fries was good, and generous. The large nacho’s weren’t impressive and sour cream was extra. All in all, the food could be a little more generous, or a little lower in price. If you’re up for playing darts there’s a great are for that, and they have a back patio for nice summer nights. All in all it’s a good place to check out, especially if you want to see a little bit of live music.

Decent atmosphere and plenty of seats open on game day. Unfortunately the beer and food was way overpriced. I spent almost $ 7 on a single pint of beer w/a small tip. Didn’t even consider the food because it was too expensive for pub grub. There are plenty of other great bars around that don’t charge such excessive prices.
