I went to this place this morning and after initially liking the space, I found that that was the last thing I liked. The staff was rude and the breakfast sandwich was pre made and average at best. However the worst thing was the rudeness of the food prepared behind the counter. Like a lot of places in the NW, it is customary to bus your table. However, it isn’t mandatory and I have never had someone request it especially with rudeness and a condescending tone. There are way too many good places to eat in Seattle and no one needs to be treated this way. I will never go here again.

We ordered a skillet for brunch. The ingredients were high-quality and cooking very good. The dish was delicious. We added a molassis cookie and discovered it was about $ 5! Ouch. It has good flavor and not as chewy as I would like. Overall, I don’t mind coming here for a lazy weekend brunch, but the prices are really steep.

Very friendly staff. Rustic and homey feel to the place. You could taste the freshness and the authenticity. The Caprese Salad was delicious, fresh, and massive! We also enjoyed an eggplant dish much like lasagna that was excellent! Coffee was great too. Great service, food and ambiance. I would definitely recommend

Love everything about this place! Eaten here for both breakfast and lunch on many occasions, and it’s always been delicious. Great coffee, awesome pastries and delicious no-frills Italian home cooking. Liquor license application is in, so hopefully beer and wine will be on the menu sometime soon. Recommend the lasagna!

This place is awesome, and my wallet definitely takes a hit every time I eat here because the desserts are literally displayed in front of you, begging you to buy them. Their pastas are amazing, and I’ve tried all of them at this point. It’s probably the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life, and I’m not even that big of a fan of pasta. I just wish the portions were bigger because I can’t get enough of it. My favorite is the gnocchi al forno. You won’t be disappointed. Their crème brûlée is also fantastic.

I have been here a few times and I have to say I’m not impressed. Recently I had the almond croissant. It was good but it had way too much filling that I felt sick afterwards from all the sugar. If you go I would suggest getting the breakfast twist/croissant. It was flaky with bacon egg and cheese. The coffee is decent but nothing great. The prices are all pretty high. 2 pastries and one coffee ran us at $ 15. Way too high for breakfast imo.

i really don’t like how this place is situated next to my FlyWheel class… ive only had their pastries but their small pasta /food menu looks very good. Particularly the gnocchi with rotisserie chicken. I really enjoyed the tiramisu and piña colada cheesecake. they were both not overly sweet. the tiramisu was soft, airy, with a hint of grand marnier? it had a subtle orange flavor that added an interesting depth of flavor. The cheesecake was my favorite. There was chunks of pineapple and the cheesecake was creamy, almost mousse like. it was to die for. I LOVED it. The ladies behind the counter were so sweet and welcoming. cant wait to come back

I used to come here for croissants in the morning(overpriced croissants, I might add. And, moreover, some staff lets your to-go croissant stick out of the bag and places it on the counter, which is where people put their bags when they pay — eww. hygiene please). One morning, I was clearly there and clearly seen by staff. There was only one other person ahead of me, and I was waiting, as I usually do, in line. Some elder lady walked in and they took her order immediately before me. It was clear, I was there. It was clear I wasn’t still pondering what I wanted, but was ready to order. Since this day, I will not patronize this place. 100% I’ll stay away. Echoing another reviewer, is there staff that’s racist? It was surprising to see that comment, but now it seems to make sense. I’m a strong advocate for not patronizing A PLACETHATTREATSCUSTOMERSUNEQUALLY.

toscanella pls. y u so good?! y u make me spend so much money on dessert here?! i come here pretty often with friends and i usually cop the lasagna or their gnocchi which are most absolutely phenomenal. however, the main problem arises when you’re finishing your pasta and then take a look at the racks and racks of scrumptious desserts laid out in a most organized and savage fashion. i almost always get ATLEAST one dessert when i’m here. it’s just so difficult for me not to… those poor desserts just sitting there not being thoroughly enjoyed by someone… i feel a compelling need to help them make the journey into my stomach. their ricotta cheese tart is SOGOODOMGOMG. it’s my goto dessert here now and i will continue to cop it until i’m incapable of consuming ricotta cheese.

Amazing atmosphere with really amazing pastries. A very authentic European bakery feel. Go in for dessert or go in to do work. Perfect place for conversations!!! I got the espresso cheesecake and it was fluffy and amazing!

Great ambiance! Lovely little spot to drop in for an early morning coffee and pastry or mid afternoon desert. Io and the staff are friendly and warm, and their deserts are kind of to die for. Charming little experience

Cute little patisserie in Seattle. Ordered an 8 oz mocha coffee and egg & cheese croissant. The breakfast sandwich is delicious… croissant is crunchy & flaky with cheese melted with the egg, just the way I like it. I ordered to go, but the ambiance in this place made me wish I should have just stayed and enjoyed my breakfast there. Will come back! Minor thing: can you please have 8 oz coffee sleeves? What’s there is too large and kinda hard to balance when I’m walking with a bunch of things plus the coffee. Thank you! :)

I finally came to La Toscanella for lunch after a year and a half of working two blocks away, and I’m so glad I did! The combination of an open, welcoming space, friendly and quick staff, and delicious food guarantee that this will become a regular stop for me. I had the gnocchi il forno, which is gnocchi topped with rotisserie chicken, cheese, and creamy pesto sauce and then baked. I’d wanted to try it after stalking the photos on Unilocal and it tasted just as delicious as it looked in the photos. The focaccia bread that comes with it is perfect for wiping up all the sauce after you’re done. Since I had such an indulgent dish for lunch, I managed to resist all the gorgeous pastries in their pastry case, but trust me, I will be back for them! The pies, croissants, and tiramisu all looked amazing. An updated review shouldn’t be too far off! Update: Taking advantage of their 20% coffee and croissants on Tuesdays, I had a raspberry croissant and loved it! Perfectly flaky, soft and buttery on the inside, and very satisfying. I also tried their ham skillet, which is one of their all-day breakfast offerings, and really enjoyed that, too. It is definitely heavy and rich, so it’s not something I’d get regularly, but it is definitely a nice treat.

Great open, spacious area with large tables in the middle and small, round, high tables in the corner. Super friendly people at the counter! Chicken salad is recommended. The pesto dressing is a little oily, but it goes well with the chicken. The bacon pieces are soft and provide the right amount of saltiness. Their breakfast ham skillet was greasy and bland. I felt sick after eating it. The focaccia bread that came with it on the side was dry and wasn’t necessarily complementary to the skillet. I’d come back to do some work, drink coffee, or get a salad.

Came here for lunch and had the gnocchi al forno. Oh. My. Goodness. The gnocchi was perfect and the pesto was perfectly balanced with creamy goodness and pesto goodness. It was $ 12 with tax. I was stuffed afterwards. My cashier also suggested getting it with veggies and chicken to soak up the rest of the pesto-y goodness. Also, bought a chocolate croissant to go as an afternoon snack — 20% off on Tuesdays! I love this place and look forward to coming again soon. Come before or long after noon to avoid the lunch rush and be able to snag a seat :)

Food: The old school cannoli are the best in Seattle. I tried the lemon tart previously and a Caprese panini & wasn’t impressed. Service: The pastry chef was too absorbed in her phone to realize she had a customer waiting. The counter person who helped me after she returned to her station was nice. I asked about hours since I had visited previously only to find they were closed. She advised Unilocal had been contacted to update hours, but Unilocal has not updated. She had no idea their FB hours were wrong, too, until I pointed that out as well. The hours on their FB and Unilocal are wrong. Correct hours: M-F 6 am to 6 pm Saturday 8 am to 3 pm Sunday 8 am to 1 pm

My husband and I tried three things for lunch on a random Wednesday afternoon: apple pie, sausage breakfast skillet, and lasagna. The apple pie was fantastic — probably some of the best apple pie I’ve ever had. The crust is a perfect balance between moist and flaky. The apple filling had many layers and a wonderful mixture of cinnamon and spices. — 5 Stars. I was a bit confused at first by the breakfast skillet because it didn’t come on a cast iron, but it was good nonetheless. It was fairly large, enough for two to share, and full of egg, cheese, and sausage. The flavors together were a bit on the bland side, however, and I would have liked more spices or hot sauce to go with it. — 4 Stars. Unfortunately, the lasagna was quite disappointing. It was pretty greasy without great flavor and in the end, I didn’t end up eating most of it because it didn’t seem worth the calories. — 2 Stars. Overall, I think La Toscanella makes some great food — I’d stick with desserts in the future and pass on the lasagna though. Staff are very friendly and I’ll definitely be back for that apple pie sometime.
