This place was a pleasant surprise! Adorable small business run by two brothers. Their acai bowls(I had the energy bowl) are amazing, and I’m im sure everything else here is too! Will be back :)

Food options just keep getting better around Greenlake. Kitanda, one of the newer addition to the neighborhood, is a much needed café in the area. When I have the chance to sit back and relax, I’ll order their traditional acai bowl. Its a no-frills bowl of blended acai, sliced bananas and topped with granola. Its a nice light breakfast or snack pre or post workout. Now, when I am on-the-run, I’ll order their Super Hero smoothie which contains, acai, banana, spinach, 10 g of vegan vanilla protein powder and soy milk(I sub that with regular milk). The smoothie is not too filling but its enough to last me into my next work out. They have outdoor seating, which is where I prefer to hang out on non-rainy Seattle days.

This is one of my favorite places to eat açai bowls, but lately the service has been extremely slow. On Sunday, me and my roommates waited an hour and a half for our bowls to come out. I barely ate mine to rush off to a prior appointment and my roommates boyfriend was then late to the game he was coaching because he was waiting for his food. The lack of ownership of the delay by the restaurant and its failure to acknowledge how long they had been waiting frustrated us all. Think I will just go to Jujubeat next time instead so I can be on time!

I waited 45 minutes for my acai bowl to be made. Very poor service, they did not even apologize for the wait. The bowl was tasty but I’ve had much better Acai bowls

This is my first time here and won’t be my last. I am used to mixing Acai into smoothies about wanted to try one of their famous bowls. Ordered the Energy Bowl and it was good but but had a interesting twang but I think it’s the Acai(that I am not used too). The cheese bread was so delicious !! I can’t believe I have been coming to PCC next door for years and never stopped in. I will be back for the Cheese bread and love that it’s gluten free ! Next time I will try the coffee and they have a great bakery selection as well . I will be back ! :)

LOVE this café. If I’m every anywhere near Greenlake I have to stop and get an Açai bowl here. And if I really can’t help myself, I also get two pão de queijo as well. Super delicious, super cheap, and relatively healthy. This is also a great spot for coffee, tea, and a small selection of Brazilian groceries.

This place is alright. I ordered the energy blast acai bowl and honestly you can make the same thing at home… the quantity was so little for what you were paying. Although the texture was good and it actually was very tasty it was still disappointing. This acai bowl cost me exactly $ 9.41 which I feel like is overpriced.

I really like the smoothies, coffee and sandwiches, but the service is painfully slow. Maybe hire a few more people and get more then one vitamix. It was not busy today but waited over 25 minutes for a smoothie. Probably wont go back.

I ordered the super hero acai bowl and it was delicious! The portion size was a bit smaller than I expected but the flavor a were delicious. They use Vanilla Orgain protein powder(it’s offered at Costco) in the base and top it off with bananas and granola. The spinach in the base was not distracting from the sweetness of the vanilla and berries. I would highly recommend this place for those of you with an acai craving. Unfortunately, Seattle doesn’t have many acai bowl places — something I miss about LA, however Kitanda is doing a great job creating it’s delicious bowls. The café also offers blended espresso drinks made with Organic Brazillian coffee beans, cheese breads, and a variety of nestle treats. I would not recommend this place if you’re in a rush to get your acai to go. The order took about 15 min to get on a pretty slow day.

This was my very first acai bowl! I bookmarked it on Unilocal and I finally got to try the place. There are very few acai bowl places in Seattle and I’ve always seen pictures of them on Instagram from California or Hawaii and really wanted to try one. I got the energy blast bowl which had granola, strawberries, banana and honey on it which was the perfect combination especially for the sunny weather. I can’t compare it to another acai bowl place since this was my first one but I would overall give it a 4⁄5 and it was very refreshing!!!

I’ve had many açai bowls before(being a SoCalian) & tasted pretty good ones and pretty bad ones. We have nekter, birdie bowls, banzai, blah blah list goes on I was surprised that Seattle didn’t have any açai bowl places so when this place opened, I definitely wanted to give it a go. Got their Rio de Janeiro bowl, and it came in a cute big mug. The consistency was good. You weren’t chomping down on big chunks of frozen açai and it wasn’t watery either. A bit thicker than the consistency of smoothies, which is the way I like it. Overall, good açai bowls. I would give this place a 4⁄5 in terms of their açai bowls, but I only gave it 3 stars because I haven’t tried their cheese balls yet(I want to give a wholistic review later). So I will come back, order those(with another different açai bowl) and see how they are.

Acai bowls are amazing. I apparently have never had a REAL acai bowl until I decided to try Kitanda as it’s like a minute away from my place. The Rio de Janiero bowl is amazing. And I love that they serve other Brazilian goodies in the shop. Having lived in Japan in a community full of Brazilians, I learned the wonder that is pao de queijo. It is completely on my list to try next time I am in. Kitanda is a new fave for me for sure!

Love this place! I had the Rio de Janeiro acai bowl. I can’t believe I haven’t had an acai bowl before. It was soooo good! Topped with granola and chewy, dried mango. I also tried the cheese bread which was really good and although gluten free, it kind tasted like actual bread. I have bought a frozen version called brazi bites and have eaten a lot lot of them and the kitanda ones are better. The brazi bites just don’t taste as much like real bread. I’ll definitely be buying a bag of frozen cheese bread from kitanda in the future. Also, I tried the spicy cheese bread and was very surprised it had a nice kick.

You know you’ve finally found a good acai bowl place in Seattle when it’s pouring outside and the bowl is still the perfect meal! The first GOOD acai bowl place I’ve had in Seattle. Thank you Kitanda! I ordered the Energy Bowl: The blend: acai, strawberry, banana, peanut Topping: banana, strawberry, granola, and honey Texture: perfect! not too creamy, liquid-y, or ice-y The store is kind of hidden, but it is next to PCC, under an apartment complex. Also, it takes them awhile to make the acai bowls, but oh well! It is so worth the wait, especially when it’s the only yummy acai place in Seattle. I can’t wait to go back!

I was really excited to check this place out for awhile since there are like no Brazilian coffee shops in Seattle. Also the fact they served Acai was a big draw for me too. However, either they need to hire more staff or new staff. I was over charged on my smoothie, which I noted to the cashier who made the correction. Expecting it to go back on my card I instead got the difference in change. Lots of pennies and dimes. Yeah thanks that’s all I need. :/ She also didn’t seem to have thorough knowledge of products/items served here. The vibe is very laid back which is cool along with the cheese bread but other than that — that’s just it.

My sisters and I were looking for some acai bowls since they haven’t had it before. We decided to come here since it was closer to us. We ordered two Energy Blast Acai Bowls and it was delish! It wasn’t too sweet and wasn’t too running. The bowl had toppings of strawberry, banana, nuts, and drizzle of honey. So yum! They also have coffee, and other food there. Little sis ordered their hot dog that’s wrapped in this bun unlike normal hot dog buns and loved it so she got another one. PCC market is also next door, so convenient if you need to do some groceries shopping as well!

The coffee is much, much better than Starbucks(by that, I mean it has some flavor, aroma, and doesn’t taste burnt) and the breakfast sandwiches are gluten free, made from Brazilian cheese bread. I was happy to find those, after giving up gluten due to an autoimmune issue. I have also been avoiding dairy, but in this case, I’ll make an exception.

Stumbled in here while taking care of some Saturday errands, and was glad I did! Great coffee(all from Brazil) and pastries(Brazilian recipes). Cute shop for packaged/imported sweets and items, as well as some locally made frozen goodies. Plenty of room and seating to make the whole shop feel welcoming. Our barista also mentioned they have two larger locations on the eastside– one at Redmond Town Center and one in Kirkland. Both of those apparently have larger Brazilian markets and would be cool to check out at some point…

My nine year old son and I are gluten and(mostly) sugar free, so we have made a happy habit of stopping by for cheese bread(+ coffee for me) before PCC shopping. Haven’t tried other menu options but the bread is simply to die for — crispy outside, chewy and delicious outside. Ingredients are simple: tapioca starch, milk, egg, oil and cheese. Highly recommend. Would give 5 stars but service quality is inconsistent. I hope this place stays!

I’ll need to write a follow-up review! I just tried the Energy Acai bowl, but there looks like a lot of other interesting things going on in this little place. I’m here now and the place is empty. It’s a great environment for working solo or meeting up with someone(a lot of 2 person tables). Won’t be long before this place fills up — Seattle is lacking unique cafes that serve more than your run of the mill blueberry scone. The staff was really friendly and the bowl was what you would expect an acai bowl to be like. A little tangy, just the right amount of granola, and thick enough so it did in fact seem like a bowl and not a smoothie. Will be back.

Finally another place to try acaì bowls in Seattle! First time here and I got the Rio de Janeiro bowl and it was delicious! I love chewy things in my acaì bowl like Goji berries and this one had dried mango with granola. I also grabbed a soy latte which was a nice balance between the two. They have tons of Brazilian products here and pastries as well. The café itself is small and very quiet(good for reading or studying.) Can’t wait to come back again!

Sloppy presentation on the acai bowl and the gal left off the fresh banana slices around the rim of the bowl. She then argued with me that the banana comes blended in. Not so at the Kirkland location where I had the same bowl and a better overall experience. It’s an $ 8 bowl, sweetheart. If you could make it not look like you just vomited it up, that’d be great.

Worst experience ever!!! I ordered a traditional acai bowl it came with pieces of plastic in it!!! It was disgusting!!! The waiter didn’t even apologise he offered to make me another one which certainly I didn’t want!!! I had my share of plastic for breakfast thank you very much!

It’s the only Acai bowl spot in the area so it’s nice to have nearby and the bowls are decent, not great. Downsides — they’re incredibly slow, coffee is pretty bad(espresso ok), the bowl quality is inconsistent from one day to the next as well as the service from behind the counter. Hope more options come to the neighborhood.

I LOVE açai, so when I saw this place I had to stop in. I ordered an açai bowl and one of their little cheese balls(aka Pão de Queijo). The hint of spice on their spicy cheese ball was perfect. Unfortunately for me, no açai bowl ever tastes as good as the ones on the beach in Rio de Janeiro. It’s good, just not as good as I remember! The café was entirely empty when I arrived so I don’t expect this place to last long… I would absolutely come back and if you’ve never had an açai bowl, highly recommend you come and try one!

Let me just start out by saying that açaí bowls are my JAM! I’m obsessed, and when I discovered there was a place right near my apartment that made them, I was STOKED. I’m a purist, so I just go with the traditional bowl, but my boyfriend likes to get the bowl with added peanut butter(and it’s bigger, too). Both are delicious! My only complaint is that they seem to be a bit understaffed. In the few times I’ve been there, it has taken well over 15 minutes to get my order, but that doesn’t make me want to stop eating there. If you’re in any kind of hurry, I’d pass, but if you have time to kill, you should definitely try this place.

I’m so excited to have found this place! I just moved to Seattle from California, where acai bowls are pretty common. I had the energy bowl with a Brazilian latte shake. The bowl is excellent, and the shake dreamy. I see some comments about the caloric density of the bowls with toppings; I want to give a tip — bowls are a meal in themselves. I’m definitely going to come here on a regular basis.

Nice addition to the Green Lake coffee/work scene. Lots of natural light, just the right amount of noise, not too crowded, wifi, they never rush you, fine coffee. My husband used to work near their Totem Lake location and was addicted to their Brazilian mocha/latte with condensed milk.

Their acai bowls are good. I have only tried the traditional because the others are loaded with calorie dense toppings. The traditional bowl has banana and granola. $ 7 for 16 ounces. The reason for the three stars is that their cheesy bread and chicken corn suck! The cheesy bread was beyond stale. The chicken corn should be crispy but it wasn’t. The chicken inside was very dry. I was really looking forward to yummy cheesy bread but was sorely disappointed.

So happy to finally have acái bowls available in North Seattle. The scene for acái is slowly getting bigger in Seattle and this is another step in the right direction. Maybe one day it’ll be as big here as it is in LA. Greenlake is also the perfect location for these bowls. If you’ve never tried one then do yourself a favor and do so! The Chicken Cones and other various baked goods are awesome as well. I don’t drink coffee so I have nothing to say about their coffee.

Brazilian based? I don’t know but they do carry a Brazilian latte, acai bowls, and other treats that look like they could be Brazilian. Except for the kibbe. Dunno what’s up about that. Kibbe is the national dish of Lebanon. I could tell just by walking in that this is the type of place you come for specialty espresso drinks, not coffee. So I didn’t bother with the plain coffee, but decided to try the Brazilian latte. I don’t normally drink sweet coffee drinks, but I have a weak spot for sweetened, condensed milk. I started my coffee drinking career with coffee sweetened with the stuff. Anyhow, iced nonfat Brazilian latte light on the condensed milk. They did a good job on dialing back the sweetness. Lightly sweet and refreshing. I could tell though that the quality of the coffee wasn’t great. The bitter burnt taste came through despite all the milk. It was fine in the drink but I was glad I hadn’t ordered plain coffee. Good service.

Glad to see a local coffee shop in Greenlake village and not Starbucks moving into this new space. I never tried this place before and was told that other locations include Redmond and Kirkland. I have been waiting for a convenient coffee shop to come around coincidentally dropped by today on their opening day for their special offer of an iced brazilian latte. Just in time for beautiful Seattle summer. I think that this ice latte was so good that my husband asked me to go buy another one. They have your typical drink options but what they are known for are they Acai bowls. I definitely will return to try this because they have several options for toppings. Move on over Menchies. You have a little bit of a competition! Additionally, they are serving a cheese bread gluten free. 4 stars for my first cup of ice latte and the friendly customer service however, will come back here to try out the acai and cheese bread! Tip #1: Get a Brazilian latte on sunny summer day. Tip #2: Tons of goodies to purchase including snacks if you feel like chomping on some Brazilian treats. Looking forward to returning!
