This place is incredible! Every dish was a palate-pleaser. I highly recommend the Bone Marrow, the Mushrooms and Tofu, the Kalbi, and the Rice Cakes. The chefs have the execution and plate presentation down to a T, and the service staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I only wish I could eat here everyday.

Ordered the white kimchi salad, spicy rice cakes, eggplant, and octopus. The eggplant was a bit salty so the dish would have benefited from some rice or noodles. It was still good though. Everything else was amazing. I’ve grown up eating spicy ricecakes(dukboki) – here they fry up the duk so it has a unique, fantastic texture. Octopus was cooked perfectly, with char outside and creaminess inside. I’d highly recommend this place!

I really do not understand why this place is so popular. Is it the style? I don’t get it. The brunch is pretty good, but the dinner menu is seriously lacking. Just as an example, their«kimchi» dish is… well, just trust me, I was confused by it. Someone gave me a gift card and it took me months to get in — and then I was like, «meh, I’ve experienced better.»

For calling their food family-style, the portions were extremely small. The mackerel we ordered tasted super fishy and past its prime. The eggplant was the best thing we ordered, but again on the small side. We stopped by Dicks drive-in on the way home as boo was still hungry…

A true 5 stars, Joule has easily cracked my top 5 in Seattle. Absolutely blown away by the quality for the price. Two of us shared a sashimi-style herring starter(daily special), the spicy rice cake noodle dish, and the Kalbi burger. Perfect amount of food for 2 moderately hungry humans! We will be back.

Atmosphere is upscale yet highly approachable with profound food that can be enjoyed and appreciated by anyone. Michael S was our server, and he was amazing. Truly of service. We(my date and I) had a tough time at first on account of an obnoxiously loud individual who was directly next to our table. Our server promptly re-seated us and poured us glasses of complementary wine, and left us feeling very well cared for. Otherwise, the table service was perfect. We were never left waiting for anything, and nothing stayed on the table longer than it should have. I would definitely go back, and definitely recommend it to anyone who wants killer cocktails, great wine and food, and an atmosphere that’s perfect for anything from first dates to, to dinner with friends, and networking dinners.

My partner and I had heard about Joule for a long time, and decided to try it for our last Seattle date night before we move to South America. It was by far the best restaurant we’ve been to in Seattle and we’ve talked about it for days afterword. We had: Beef tartare Crispy Eggplant Morel and poached egg Spicy ricecake Bavette steak Octopus Chocolate tart Plus two cocktails I cant recall the names of and glasses of a syrah to go with the steak. Every single dish was so different and delicious. If I had to choose my favorites I’d probably pick the crispy eggplant and the spicy ricecake. The octopus was my least favorite, but still delicious — I’m just not a huge octopus person. The plates are small, but if you think of it like a «build your own tasting menu», it’s absolutely perfect(and way more affordable than a full tasting menu elsewhere!). We got to try a ton of different flavors and preparations without feeling overwhelmed or super full by one dish. The customer service was absolutely incredible. Our server(I think his name was Michael) was SO classy and helpful, pointing us in exactly the right direction for flavor pairings and really taking care of us when we wanted to move tables due to a boisterous neighbor. Our only lament was that we waited so long to come here. Cant wait to come back to seattle and try brunch!

Great food!!! Every food here is new and interesting:) Tofu is a must order. I love the bone marrow!!! Seaweed fried rice is good. Only problems: the food portions here are soooo tiny. You must order a lot if you are hungry.

I came here on a Sunday morning for their semi-buffet brunch. Nice contemporary atmosphere. Fusion dining. I don’t recall what I ordered but it’s a nice place if you want something different than the normal bacon, eggs, and sausage for brunch.

Very very pleased with Joule. Food is well prepared, light, well seasoned. The kimchi burger is really phenomenal, one of the best burgers in Seattle. Bartender is great! He spent a lot of time educating me and making me a perfect cocktail. Gave me a number of free samples too. Overall very pleased!

TL;DR — you can get a main dish + side dish buffet for $ 19, but we felt that the side dishes were overhyped and only liked a few of them. Don’t get the kimchi & chorizo stew. It was super salty and they give you a tiny portion. The chicken fried steak & waffles are delicious for $ 5 extra. Joule is a cute little brunch spot, and my husband and I came here for their highly-rated brunch buffet. For $ 19 you can get a main dish and access an assortment of freshly prepared side dishes. My husband got their chicken fried steak and waffles($ 5 extra), and it was delicious! The portions are large, and it’s a heavy dish, so come hungry for this one. Would definitely recommend getting this! I tried their kimchi & chorizo stew, and was very disappointed. They give you a very shallow bowl with little stew. Even then, I didn’t finish the stew because it was so salty. I would not recommend this dish. The side dish buffet was also underwhelming. We sampled a little of everything and only liked a couple of the dishes. Maybe if I came on a different day I would like the selection better. Overall, I was pretty unsatisfied with the amount/quality of food I got for $ 19. The chicken fried steak was great if you don’t mind spending $ 24.

A friend recommended this place for brunch, but we ended up going for dinner instead and we all love it! Family style, smaller portions. Reservation is pretty easy. There is a small parking lot at the back of the restaurant. We ordered: — geoduck fried rice(just okay) — spicy rice cake(good, crispy on the outside) — beef tartare(good) — black sesame noodle(good) — «that» short rib steak(good, the steak melts in your mouth!) — lamb sirloin(good, tender)

This place is awesome, solid 4.5 stars! A bit of a random conglomeration of food, but definitely high quality and delicious food. I came here one afternoon for brunch with my boyfriend in October, when they featured Mediterranean buffet with our meal. At first I was kind of confused how it worked, but you basically get to eat anything at the buffet when you order a main dish on the brunch menu. I ended up getting the house made chorizo stew with brussels sprouts — it was light, delicious, flavorful and was served with a side of toasted bread. The house-made chorizo was delicious as well, and the portion was just right. My boyfriend got the green curry french toast, which was also great, but dense and seemed like too much curry flavor to handle, but he enjoyed it. Overall, service, ambiance and food was great. It is on the pricier side, but definitely worth a try!

I find it rare that I have a truly superlative dining experience in Seattle. No, it’s not that I’m a hater. I love my old hometown. But honestly I tend to find the food in Portland to be of higher quality and offered with less pretense at a more reasonable price. So in my mind, of the many, many high-end food experiences I’ve had in Seattle, Joule stands as an outlier — a cut above the rest. This smoky, semi-casual spot offers up a truly dynamic mix of Korean flavors that have been jumped-up into bouge-y concoctions, but not in a bad way. Every dish I’ve tried here(and they number in the many) offers an incredible balance of depth, flavor, spice and salt. You could call it drinking food(for the spice and salt) but that would imply too heavy on both counts. You could call it Korean but then you expect more traditional dishes. This is one very talented chef’s take on a dynamic cuisine, and it shines through. The number one must-try dish here is the rice cakes with chorizo. The cakes have been crisped up just enough, and float in a gochujang-heavy sauce mixed with a tasty, spicy chorizo. It’s an incredible dish. Also tops are the smoked tofu, bavette steak, sesame noodles(almost a carbonara) and the celeriac with smoked trout. I’m sure the menu rotates here, but if you see any of these dishes on when you visit, try them. I recently attended a group dinner here and we sampled most of the items on the menu. There were no duds. Consistency of balance and flavor across menu items shows a true skilled hand. Often times the quality of a meal can depend on ordering right. I feel that it would be difficult to order wrong here. A signal of a truly top-notch restaurant. Joule plays to many of my favorite things — strong Asian flavors, inventive dishes, solid service, casual atmosphere, and oh, did I mention great drinks? A very solid cocktail menu. This place is dialed in. Protip: This joint gets smoky from all the grilling going on. Be prepared to walk out smelling like you were at a BBQ. On the upside, it will remind you even the next day of the incredible meal you had here the night prior.

My favorite meal during my weekend trip to Seattle! Friendly service with waiters who make excellent food pairing recommendations. The place has a fun, modern vibe and is a great place to go with friends. I don’t usually like restaurants that have Asian fusion food but they did such an amazing job with it. I don’tusually like beef carpaccio but I couldn’t get enough of it here. Instead of serving it in slices it looked more like mini sashimi cubes and each bit was packed with flavor. I wanted the rice cakes but it came with chorizo and my friend doesn’t eat pork so the waiter suggested replacing the chorizo with some exotic mushrooms– it was awesome! The rice cakes were cooked perfectly– soft and chewy in the middle but pan fried and crisp on the outside. Their take on cauliflower was really unique too. I loved the addition of bonito flakes to the top! Would def visit again when I’m in town!

I came here on a Friday night after work with some girlfriends and split a variety of dishes with them. I’d previously had a coworker tell me that this was one of his favorite restaurants, and kind of had brushed it off and was like«yeah okay, whatever.» so I came in with relatively low expectations. I hate to be proven wrong, but boy was he so right — the flavors in each of the dishes were fantastic! We first started with the beef tartare — let me lead in with, I love tartares. I had my first beef tartare in France a few years ago, and have had a few decent ones in the US but not consistently. This beef tartare at Joule was delicious. There was so much flavor in the tartare, I don’t know how the beef held it all together! We then had smoked tofu — it’s just tofu and mushrooms, how good could this be? Wrong. So good. I’m always a bit weary of tofu dishes for some reason, because I’m always convinced that they’ll have this… tofu-y, trying to be imitation meat but not really nailing it sort of taste. We had none of that in this smoked tofu. I’ve never had such flavorful tofu in my life. Even the little mushrooms that topped it off were delicious. There was no ‘smokey’ flavor that lingered in your mouth either — it was just a great balance of salty and savory flavors infused in this block of tofu. Our third dish was the black sesame noodle — knowing this was a Korean fusion restaurant, I had expected this to be something like ja jjang myeon noodles, but in reality this was actual pasta noodles made with black sesame in it, not a black sesame sauce. Once I got over that expectation though, I did quite enjoy the dish — the sauce was good, but the noodles a bit slippery. Not my favorite of the 5 dishes we tried, but certainly not a bad dish by any means. Our fourth dish, «that» short rib steak was a bit on the small side — I was a bit disappointed in that. But mostly because it was so good, I didn’t want to share it with the rest of my friends. The meat was perfectly tender and well seasoned — it felt like it had a hint of Korean seasonings, as well as some American-style ones. It was so soft and tender, it felt like it was melting in my mouth. I loved it! To balance out the beef, we had the Chinese broccoli — not very photogenic, but very well cooked! Overall — I will definitely be making my way back to Joule in the near future, at the very least to try their brunch. However, I likely will be making my way back for dinner a few more times as well considering how well this first round went!

We came to brunch and I was really looking forward to it since the Eater says they are a must have brunch. We got there about an hour till close and they seemed to be running out of food for the buffet. Also the buffet was this tiny row of salads and not at all like I thought it was going to be. My husband and I both had bloody Mary’s and they didn’t taste like tomato at all and almost all vodka. I ordered the shrimp and grits. While the taste was good, the grits were very watery. My husband had the stew which was ok. The vibe was good but I’ll have to really think whether I’ll be back for dinner when there are so many good places out there.

Hosted a meetup here and it turned out positive. I like the idea that you can order a la cart and buffet or both at the same time. Also it was nice that we can get a community table near the firework. Individual drinks are pricey so we got a bottle of champagne to share Asked for egg whites omelette but somehow they cannot do. The buffet salads were actaully good enough Overall Friendly staff, nice concept, good quality food and drinks

Oh, Joule — you are divine. Since we were in the Fremont/Wallingford area to catch our Meowtropolitan appointment, we decided to stop into Joule first for some brunch. I knew Joule had great selections during the weekend, but I didn’t know that in addition to the brunch menu, you can also opt in for their brunch, which rotates in theme every weekend. This weekend’s theme was«Austrian brunch.» How does this work? If you order an entrée, you can also add the brunch on for $ 5 more. If you decide to just get the brunch or just get the entrée, then you pay $ 14. It’s quite ingenious. Since I was starving, I ordered both an entrée — the«Pancakes,» a play on green onion pancakes, with two poached eggs, kale and peanut sauce — as well as the buffet add-on. Absolutely no regrets at all. The buffet touted all sorts of lovely eats including a charred carrots and gherkin, sauerkraut salad, roasted golden beet salad, liverwurst, linzertartes and much more. I was in heaven — Austrian heaven. I barely noticed the wait for my entrée because I was already occupied(which was great). But then I moved on to my pancake, which was a sight to behold. Crispy outside, two perfect yolky eggs inside with citrusy kale and a subtle nuttiness from the peanuts. Mmmmmm. Joule is a wonderful place for those with eclectic and adventurous palates :)

If you get anything here for brunch, get the Porchetta sandwich. I went completely silent with my group of friends because it was just so good. I don’t think I could speak for a few minutes. The rest of the dishes seemed tasty but definitely will be returning solely for that sandwich!

The chorizo rice cakes at dinner are one of my favorite dishes in Seattle. They are spicy and crunchy and completely delicious. So freakin’ good! I also heavily recommend coming for brunch. You get an entrée plus you can opt for the breakfast buffet on top. The buffet is an an awesome collection of interesting, unique dishes; no boring staple fare here!

Seattle to me has always been a mini San Francisco. A lot of ingenuity and tech saavy people. Very intellectually oriented. A lot of biomedical stuff and strong economic engine. Don’t like the football team but that’s okay(hehe). It’s CLEANER than SF though. Wait I’m not rating Seattle… What I’m trying to say is that though it’s similar, it does have a long way to go when it comes to trendy restaurants. We tried quite a few on our trip and weren’t extremely impressed(not bad at all but nothing amazing). Joule would happen to actually be one of the best places we tried on the trip. Service was quick and the Asian fusion was unique. Would highly recommend the Octopus and the steak(yummmm). We had high hopes for Stateside after it had won the Seattle restaurant of 2015 by Seattle Met and it was nothing exciting at all. Joule pretty much restored our faith and hope that Seattle is on the way up!

We came for dinner and quite enjoyed ourselves! Here’s everything we tried:(YES, we ate everything, except for one of the desserts): Service: Excellent. Super friendly, they explain every dish as they set it on the table, and have everything out all in good time. Starters: — Kaya toast, black sesame butter(standard bread, nothing particularly extraordinary, though it was warm!) — Beef tartare, Asian pear, spicy cod roe aioli(LOVED. I was hesitant to try beef tartare again, but this dish was marinated to perfection. Absolutely loved it to my surprise) Salads: — Smoked tofu, honshimeji confit, soy truffle vinaigrette(This was ok) — Winter squash, goat cheese, Thai basil, black tahini(LOVED this salad. It’s sweet in just the right way) Noodles: — Black sesame noodle, chanterell, szechuan chili oil(Not a fan, tasted like noodles in salad dressing. Maybe im just not fancy enough to appreciate.) Vegetable: — Chinese broccoli, walnut pesto(Was ok, you get what you expect) Steak:(YES. Both steaks we tried were marinated deliciously, and cooked to med-rare perfection. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.) — Snake river farm kobe hanger, cucumber larb, sorrel, 6oz IA — Bavette, prime, truffled pine nut, artichoke, 6oz, WA Desserts: — Caramel apple cake, peanut rice crispies, brown sugar ice cream — Pumpkin mousse, coriander cake, sassafras crumble(Really didn’t like this one, we barely touched it, so the server took it off our bill, so nice!) — Dark chocolate ribbon, red velvet cake, cream cheese ice cream — White truffle cheesecake, caramelized brioche, sweet cauliflower curd — Joule box, pearl tapioca, ruby grapefruit brulee, coconut(FAVORITE. I kept force-feeding my friends to try it because it was so delicious.) Sorry, no pictures because we were too busy devouring.

I went for brunch. It is definitely a great way to mix up your brunch routine! Their take one French toast and chicken and waffles was really different and delicious! French toast — with green curry in the batter and apple chutney toppings this is definitely not your normal French toast. It doesn’t come with syrup but you won’t need it. The flavor is complex but not bold and only subtly sweet. Portion isn’t enough to fill you up so thank goodness there was also the brunch buffet! The brunch buffet changes every month but I’ll say that there was 6 – 7 dishes I initially thought«well that’s probably weird» but after one bite thought«that’s freaking delicious!» Everything I tasted was seriously so good! And I came in not really hungry so that count for something!

I remember their joule box dessert being very memorable and delicious, but my first time at the new location was for weekend brunch… and it was really great. I already saw photos of the sesame waffle and chicken fried steak so I knew that’s what I wanted to try. The reviews were spot on, and the dish didn’t disappoint. The waffle was good, but not that mind-blowing… I was more impressed with the chicken fried steak. It looks like katsu because of the dark breading, but it tasted different and very flavorful. The maple syrup was a nice touch as well, mixing the savory/sweet flavors in each bite. The buffet didn’t look too appetizing, but I was really into the banh xeo vegetables and the curry sauce. Very interesting Asian fusion, but I was pleased with my meal. Can’t wait to come back for dinner to get the joule box and try their dinner dishes.

We went here for brunch on a Saturday. All their entrees are $ 19 with some requiring additional cost(e.g., steak and eggs, fried chicken, etc.) They have a buffet with the brunch, that you can get by itself or with an entrée. You also have the option to get an entrée alone if you don’t like the buffet of the month. This month(October) — their selections are Iranian based so my husband opted not to get his entrée with the buffet. The Buffet changes monthly from my understanding which makes this place fun and innovative. Their brunch dishes are also quite innovative with an Asia fusion flare. Their pancakes are a spin off of a Korean scallion crispy pancake with two eggs any way you like inside the crispy pancake with greens to accompany. Their steak and eggs are more traditional with a hint of Asian flare.(A bigger portion for an additional cost) Tasty and perfectly cooked. Their shrimp & grits had an Asian flare with the Chinese sausage addition. Quite good, small portion(4 shrimp)

Started with Sweet Freedom, a delicious blood orange drank topped with Makoli, a type of sake. Had to get the Octopus and«that» short rib again. Tried the Kaya Sourdough Toast with Sesame butter. The butter is soft topped with flaked coconut! The bread comes out warm, outside isn’t too hard… Perfection. Also got the Spicy Rice Cake and Chorizo. It’s like sliced mochi lightly seared so there’s a slight crisp on the edges swimming in a delicious sauce. This experience was just as good as it was 2 years ago.

Joule for brunch… oh so good! My boyfriend and I were looking for a good brunch place on Sunday at around 11:30am and didn’t want to go somewhere with a long wait so we called Joule and found out they had open seats. I’m so glad we came here! Their brunch menu is a mix between an entrée/buffet. You get to choose one main dish, which they’ll cook for you in the open kitchen, and you get to eat a bunch of side options while you wait. The theme of the buffet options rotates every month and this month it was French. Everything I tried was new to me, but they all were so delicious! There was a lot of flavor in every bite. Now for the entrees. I got the revel breakfast and my boyfriend got the chicken steak and waffles. The steak and waffles were so good! Those waffles are pretty filling though. My dish was a typical breakfast dish with eggs and bread and BACON. Omg, the bacon! It was so good. It’s not the type of bacon that you expect at most breakfast joints. This bacon was thick and reminded me of pork belly. I usually like thin crispy bacon, but this was the complete opposite and I absolutely loved it! The restaurant itself is really cute. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors. Our waiter(I forgot his name) was nice, attentive and helpful when I had questions. I would definitely come back again!

Joule is an Asian fusion of awesomeness! Every time I dine there I leave so satisfied. For dinner, you can’t go wrong with«that» short rib steak. It’s grilled to perfection and served with grilled kimchi. That combo is de-lish! I recommend pairing it with the Chinese broccoli. It’s so flavorful with the walnut pesto sauce that it’s drenched with. Joule also has an amazing brunch buffet with a different theme every month. This month was a french theme. The buffet consists of cold sides of salads, dips, and sweet finger foods to fill up on. It’s paired with a hot protein dish that is prepared while you nibble on your buffet options. The chicken fried steak with sesame waffles was so good! The portion was huge too! We also got the grits topped with shrimp and Chinese pork in a brown butter sauce for variety. Both dishes we loved.(I attached a pic for reference.) The Joule is always our go-to choice when we have friends in town. It can be busy but we never had a problem getting seated pretty quickly. Highly recommend!

Good fusion and tapas restaurant! Steve and I met up with a friend that we have not seen in a long time and we got a bunch of different plates and shared them. There was a great mushroom dish, a salad and hamburger that stood out in my mind out of most of the dishes that we enjoyed. We split several desserts as well. One dessert had cauliflower in it which seemed a bit odd but once we sampled it was awesome and unique! They seem to alternate and change their menu often so a dish you may have liked before may get changed out between visits. Joule is popular and fills up quickly so if you don’t have reservations then you will want to make sure that you arrive early.

I came here for Sunday brunch and there’s really nothing to complain about here. We did not have reservations so we were first in line in the morning at around 20 minutes before opening. Within minutes, a line had formed behind us. All of the indoor tables were booked so we chose to sat at the chef’s bar instead of at a table outside. I had the porchetta and he had the steak. We shared a side of bacon. The porchetta was very tender and the side of pickled scallion was very unique. Bf loved his steak and thought it was a very good portion. The bacon was a very thick slice and probably the best bacon I have ever had. The buffet of sides were all very tasty. This month’s theme is France. Nothing had meat in it so keep that in mind as you choose your entrée. They even had two desserts — roasted grape bread pudding and a chocolate sugar cookie. I would definitely come again for brunch. While sitting at the chef’s bar, I thought the shrimp and grits and the waffle and chicken steak looked especially good! I almost wish I had ordered one of those instead. There’s always next time.

I read about Joule after it was nominated for a James Beard award this year. As for whether it lived up to the hype of being a James Beard nominee, it’s a resounding YES for me! The restaurant is located near Lake Union, next to the Whale Wins and has a very open floor plan to it exposing it to the outside street. I loved the sleek modern décor of the restaurant and the open kitchen exposed to the dining area. The restaurant was bustling on the Thursday night that my party of 4 dropped in. The atmosphere was a bit loud and lively and everyone was dressed very casual, trendy, but not sloppy. We were also seated near the kitchen, which was a bit hot, so if you don’t want to break a sweat while dining I recommend asking for a seat a bit further away from it. We ordered a plethora of items. I won’t go into detail about every item, but will comment on the ones that made the biggest impressions, positive or negative. Beef Tartare — Excellent tartare — Soft, flavorful and just the right amount. Spicy Rice Cake — Had a tad of spicyness, but nothing overwhelming. Geoduck Risotto — Although it’s called«risotto», it’s not risotto in the traditional sense. It was more like just small duck fried rice order. Octopus — Absolutely loved this! The octopus was grilled to perfection. I could definitely taste the char on it. Short Rib Steak — Steak was medium rare and perfectly cooked. It was juicy, flavorful and came with a side of kimchi. Joule Box White Truffle Cheese Cake — Very light tasting. Vietnamese Coffee Ice Cream — Creamy and sweet, but not a deluge of sweetness. The service was also excellent as a friend of mine did not like her drink so the bartender created a new custom made one for her —- free of charge! The waitress was not extremely knowledgeable about the menu, but when she did not know she asked and got back to us. I wouldn’t consider this fine dining, but if you’re looking for a casual restaurant that produces fine dining-type dishes, give Joule a try! It’s worth every bit of the hype!

I have bookmarked Joule to try for years… now I know they’re known to have a really stellar brunch, but we came on a Friday night, right at opening time for dinner and sat at the bar. At that time it wasn’t too busy, but as the evening wore on, this place was busy with patrons, and rightfully so. We asked for suggestions on food and this is what we had: Beef Taretare: steak taretare with an Asian twist! It was refreshingly melt in your mouth good! The pine nuts add a bit of crunch, while the Asian pear was a welcome addition that added a fresh crispness to the appetizer. Octopus: octopus that was grilled perfectly! Octopus is one of those foods that can go horribly wrong! If you under cook it, it’s mushy, if you over cook it, it’s too chewy. Now Joule has found the timing just right! And it’s served with grilled bok choy and a bacon vinaigrette. We all know bacon makes everything taste better, but the dish was cooked so that each component held on to its own flavor. «That» short rib steak: Kalbi… I love Kalbi!!! Steak marinated in a sweet-soy-mirin and grilled to a perfect medium rare!!! Served with grilled kimchi! And topped with a grilled pepper! This dish is simply flawless! A little heat from the pepper, the complex flavors of the kimchi, and a slice of Kalbi = the quintessential bite! Joule dessert box: sweet pearl tapioca topped with slices of grapefruit and coconut… What a satisfying way to end a meal!

Ahh might be a little generous with the 5 stars, but I really enjoyed my Saturday brunch here with my fiancé! We didn’t make reservations, but luckily there were seats available in the patio. We didn’t mind since it was sunny out, and there’s a fire pit and heated lamps to keep you warm in the morning breeze! For brunch, there’s about ten entrees to choose from, most of them $ 17(some were +$ 3 for the larger entrees), and includes the buffet. I guess each month there’s a different theme for the buffet and it was Argentine when we went. I don’t think I’ve had Argentine food before, so it was good trying out new things… and everything was delicious too! There was sweet potato bread, kale and sweet potato salad, crisp flatbread with chimichurri, quinoa and eggplant salad, cheese, etc. I got a little bit of everything my first round, and then got two more rounds of my favorites. which was pretty much everything :) Our entrees came by the time we were pretty much done with the buffet, so it was perfect timing. We tried the porchetta with spicy romesco and the sesame waffle with chicken fried steak and I was impressed by both of them! The porchetta was tasty and an awesome flavored dish, and was the perfect portion having already eaten the buffet. As for the waffle, I loved it! I want to say it’s probably the best waffle I’ve ever had. It was crispy on the outside and light and slightly chewy on the inside — not dense like most waffles. There was a definite sesame flavor too. The chicken fried steak was prepared katsu style, which I liked since it wasn’t overly breaded. I could probably eat the entire waffle myself, but as for the steak, two slices was enough. The smoky maple syrup drizzled on top of the waffle and steak was perfect. I love trying new places for brunch but will be back because the buffet will be different next time! I’ve come for dinner before a long time ago and remember liking it too. so I think it’s safe to say Joule is two thumbs up all around!
