Ordered the shrimp scampi, which were bland, gummy, and most likely not fresh, but frozen from a bag. The mac & cheese had zero flavor whatsoever. Even the bacon in it was tasteless! The $ 14 sardine plate consisted of only 3 pieces, which appeared to just have been taken out of a can and put on toasted bread. Never going back.

To be fair, I didn’t get a chance to experience this place. Reserved the private room for a party 5 weeks before the event, only to get a call a week before the event to be told they can’t «accommodate» me. No explanation. Bad form, very bad form. Invitations had gone out and everything. Mad rush now to find another spot and update the guests. I can only assume we got bumped for a bigger party. Bear that in mind if you are considering them for a party.

If you crave feeling like an absolute imposition, this is the place for you. Not sure if the guy was having a bad day or what, but wow, the way the staff acted completely killed the otherwise warm and welcoming vibe of the place. Never coming back.

This place is absolutely incredible! Best dessert wines around. I was craving an ice wine and before we came here we called to find out if they had it in stock. They said no but we decided to try it out anyway. When I got there I looked at the menu and the ice wine was on it and I made a comment about how I would have to come back to try it. The bartender, Rachel, says that she will be right back. She searches high and low for this bottle, swearing that she has seen it recently. Upon finding the bottle of ice wine she proceeds to sing«you CAN always get what you want!» Which made us all crack up. Not only was the wine incredible but the service and atmosphere put this place over the top! I will absolutely be coming back here to fulfill my dessert wine cravings! Keep it up Rachel!

I love this place. The owner works here with his employees, and they always make sure we had a good time. I love grabbing a glass of wine, and an awesome cheese plate with my friend. I strongly recommend stopping by.

I’m a frequent visitor to In The Red Wine Bar, especially when the weather gets nasty(like it is right now…) We usually bring a group there for the all day happy hour on Sundays, and this place has one of my favorite wine lists in Seattle. The patio is heated(one of the few I know of in the area) so it’s even a pretty nice place to go to during the winter. The bacon wrapped dates are my favorite from the happy hour menu.

Love this place! The interior is comfortable dark and inviting, a great place to get lost in a wine induced conversation. They have awesome regional and local wines and are well versed in pairings, if a liquid diet isn’t your thing. Their menu is locally sourced and seasonal, which is the best recipe for everything mouthwatering and delicious. They have a great happy hour and a romantic patio, with lights and heat lamps. We are embarking on our colder season in Seattle, but the heat lamps are a great upgrade to sitting and drinking on a patio. They are open late! I always have too much fun with whom ever I am with to snap photos. Thats on my todo list. Stop in and say hi to the amazing and friendly owner Chad!

I was not a fan of this place due to slow service and not very good food. It was not slow service due to being busy — that I am fairly forgiving about. There were very few patrons in the place. It felt like the server just wasn’t interested in checking in or serving in general. The food seemed old(things were luke warm). Just nothing interesting that would bring me back unfortunately.

Love the friendly mysterious artistic feeling of this place. Employees are super friendly and I especially love the bacon wrapped dates!

What an awesome little find. I really needed a girls night. In one of those ways that is only cured by wine and quality time with friends. I have an absurd amount of $ on a account that my mom gave me three christmas’ ago. I was THRILLED to discover that In The Red Wine Bar takes it. None of my friends have ever been there before, so it would be an adventure for all three of us — equal parts needing of some wine and girl time. The owner’s girlfriend was our waitress that night, and I would not have known that had he not been just the most jovial open guy I’ve ever seen own a bar. She was great and what she didn’t know he was quick to step in to help. We split appetizers, a bottle of wine and enjoyed a lovely evening. There was live acoustic music(surprise!) but we didn’t have to pay extra, that was just a lovely bonus. It’s pricey, but it makes up for it in atmosphere and tasty small plates. I will be back with the ladies soon.

This is a wonderful place that is hidden away in Phinney Ridge. Great people, great art and great ambiance.

In The Red is a cute wine bar near Greenlake that I’ve frequented a couple of times. Price of the wines are average($ 7-$ 14) and the food is decent, though overpriced. I think $ 10 for a «flatbread» that’s only slightly larger than a piece of toast is quite ridiculous. Both times I’ve been to In The Red, it’s been fairly empty. Both times were around 7PM on a Friday and Saturday night. Not sure if it’s just not a popular spot, or if people tend to come in the twilight hours. Major props to In The Red for having a free, reserve-able back room for private parties. It definitely takes the sting off the overpriced, small food menu.

In the Red is a great space to grab some wine and small bites in a cozy environment. Their wine selection is decent, with 15 – 20 on the menu, but a bit on the pricey side(30 – 50 per bottle). It would have been nice to see some more $ 20 – 30 bottle options, and some more Washington wines. The location is great(on Phinney Ridge), and parking is on the street but fiarly easy to find a spot. Happy hour deals on food are really great, and I highly suggest the flatbread and bacon wrapped dates(both cheap solid options). We planned an event here, and while it went off great it was kind of tough to get clear on specifics with the venue. We wanted to do things a certain way, and we kept getting drawn back to how staff thought we should run the event. The day of, our bartender Andrea was phenomenal, making sure every aspect of the 30 person wine tasting went great. The back room that they wanted to put us in was kind of run down and not a space that wow-ed anyone. We had the party out in the main area which is much nicer of a space. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Where has this place been all my life? I love it here! My friend and I went in last night, sat at the bar, and was served with absolute sweetness by an adorable bartender(and a super-pretty bartendress). They were busy with a back party, but we never felt ignored. Music — perfect level. Wine — deliciousness squared. There’s even an etch-a-sketch on the bar! Squee! Plus, since I’m forced to be gluten-free(ugh, right?), they cheerfully made us the gluten free variety flatbread. Tasty perfection. Oh, whiners. Why you not stop the constant complaints about not good enough stuffs? Seriously, this is a great little neighborhood bar. I just can’t fathom why Oliver Twist is so much more popular. Beezare.

Cute little wine bar in a cute little neighborhood! I came because I had a Groupon as a gift for two flights of wine and two appetizers, a great deal and great way to sample the bounty of the wine and appetizer menu. The spot was cute and charming. Not a swanky, trendy spot like many other hip wine bars in Seattle but in many ways it was refreshing that it wasn’t. I appreciate a place that’s a little bit more down to earth! The wine was tasty and overall they had a great selection. I’m not a wine snob but do enjoy nearly any variety of red wine so I was pleased. The appetizer selection for the Groupon actually ended up being pretty limited so that was slightly disappointing(yet, it was still free so no complaints!) My friend and I each ordered a flatbread. They weren’t bad but weren’t great. Still created for a nice bite with wine on a rainy Wednesday in a cozy, no fuss wine bar.

Bought a Groupon for a wine tasting for 2. It was only valid for Wednesday and Saturday. So, we went on a Wednesday evening. The place was basically empty. The server seemed unaware of the Groupon and was pained that we asked for wine tastings. Isn’t this a wine bar? It took the server about 15 minutes to bring the tastings to us(after serving people that walked in after us). After all the waiting, the wine was just ok. We also ordered 2 appetizers: baked Brie and bacon wrapped dates. The food was really good. Probably won’t go back but at least we tried it.

I’ve been going to In The Red for a couple of years for Toastmasters meetings. The menu has been recently changed to add desserts and remove the flat-breads as well as expanding the offerings. There are other go to options, bacon wrapped dates(portions have been increased), Mac and Cheese and salads. The kitchen is accommodating of special requests. There was a Caprese flat-bread and I just wanted a Caprese Salad, no problem. The meeting space is in the back and sadly we have outgrown the space. Sad to go, but if you want to have a great meeting space for fewer than 20 people, I recommend In The Red.

This bar is a little dingy — which is an odd descriptor for a wine bar, whuch are usually classy and romantic. Three girlfriends and I went on a Tuesday. There was practically no one there, and yet the service was horribly slow. The food was just okay. Avoid the flatbread — uncooked dough and mediocre toppings. Go anywhere else.

Oops, I think we might be regulars here now. The bartenders know our names and what we like to drink. Their wine tasting flights on Wednesday and Saturdays are great — 5 wine tasting for $ 5 — bubbles, white, pink, a couple reds — all around the globe. Can ‘t beat that price. Also, the bartender asked me what music I wanted to hear, and she put it on. Perfect. Apparently I’m staying longer and ordering another bottle.
