I was seated for dinner immediately. The wait staff were professional, friendly, helpful, and prompt. The atmosphere was great. The décor is colorful and attractive. I enjoyed the openness and feeling of spaciousness in the dining area. Dinner was filling, tasty-excellent. I like dining in a fairly quiet restaurant. Huarachitos delivered. Being able to park in the garage(for 2 hours) at no cost was a great benefit as finding a parking space on the street can be difficult. I plan to return as often as possible to use the private banquet room and to bring friends to have dinner and enjoy happy hour. I also plan to enjoy the exterior dining area on the first sunny day I am available! I recommend Huarachitos!

Very pretty space and the prices reflect the rent. The menu is very regional and heavy with mole. The portions are small and the fillings are measly compared to the price. We had 3 servers and they managed to forget our margarita. Don’t waste your money on the margaritas. $ 11 and we didn’t taste any tequila. First and last time there. Adiós amigos.

After visiting a second time I feel a little better about this place. Their Carne Asada nachos were really yummy for a good price, especially during Happy Hour!

Their business hours on Monday start at 3pm. However, when we showed up to give this place a try at 4:45pm, they were not open. There were no posted hours on the door. The phone number goes straight to a generic answering machine, no message from the restaurant. It wasn’t a holiday and nothing was posted in the window stating why they weren’t open. What a wasted trip.

Despite the 30-minute wait and several tables open(their kitchen was backed up)… I liked their food. We got the Plate of Nations and some asada nachos, add pickled jalapeños. I think charging $ 3 for some pickled vegetables, was excessive and it took about 30 minutes after being seated for us to get our iced tea… the roasted corn soup was tasty, and the braised short rib was good. The avocado eggrolls were nothing special, as they were literally just chopped avocado fried in a wonton wrapper. The dipping sauce as delicious though. The«shared dessert» was enough for a toddler to eat, so I wouldn’t say that’s shareable between two adults!

Prior to going to any restaurant I use Unilocal as a helpful guide. One previous review mentioned that the service was slow and another review mentioned a foreign object in their food. Those types of reviews do not sway me due to the fact there are certain un foreseen variables that creates a dining experience. My wife and I decided to go with an open mind to a new Mexican restaurant on a non busy Wednesday early evening. When we were seated the service was indeed very slow due to the lack of servers. The hostess that seated us was overworked because her responsibilities were also waitress and bartender. The other bartender was also our server. The service was so slow a chef had to come out of the kitchen to take and deliver orders. She eventually became the bartender. All through this I remained patient because the food might be worth it. And it was. The food was excellent. I enjoyed the Camerones en el Crème de Chipolte. I savored every bite and was looking forward to leftovers. The next day my wife beat me to my leftovers and while she was making a taco she found a big piece of plastic in the food. I wish I would have brought this up at the restaurant but it was my mistake for not catching it. This restaurant has a serious quality control issue that needs to be resolved before someone gets sick or hurt. Although the food was excellent, I will not be going back.

Good, but not great. I ordered a hurarache with chicken and beef empanaditas. The food was good, but the salsa was lacking punch. I also found it a bit overpriced. The location is good with the parking lot attached, and the décor was nice. Just not sure I would return.

The location and free parking(up to 2 hours) were very convenient. Ambiance was nice, like an upscale neighborhood restaurant. I was not impressed with the food though, unfortunately. My wife and I ordered asada nachos and the Plate of Nations special — roasted corn soup, avocado egg rolls, braised short ribs and bread pudding for dessert. The nachos were good, but everything else was severely lacking both spice and salt(possibly related to hasty preparation, see footnote). The avocado egg rolls were literally sliced avocado wrapped in rice paper, that’s it. The braised short ribs had good flavor, but were dry. Based on food alone, we’ll probably not be returning anytime soon… There are far better(and cheaper) options for authentic Mexican in the area. Footnote: we came in while they were trying to recover from one large party and prepping for another… I’m not sure if this was an isolated incident or if they are incapable of efficiently handling a packed house, but wait times for seating, drinks, food and the check were bordering on excessive. Hostess and wait staff were all very courteous though… given the circumstances, and it being my first visit, I’m disinclined to let that factor into the review, but do be aware.

We had a pretty large group, party of 9, and they did great accommodating us rather quickly. Although the service started off a little off(server only took the order of one person’s drink and left the rest of us wondering where she went) it ended great. The portions are HUGE and the sangria was perfect! Very fun and upbeat atmosphere.

Ms. Ana has found herself a handsome and talented new chef that has wonderful balance of flavor that is satisfying and flavorful! Check out their brunch and really champagne loaded mimosas. Te quiero por siempre!

I was craving for some good Mexican food last weekend when we went to Bellevue, Woodinvlle and finally Seattle. We were lucky in our choice because we really enjoyed Huarachitos Cocina Mexicana ! Here I got a nice, huge burrito with fresh ingredients and a good level of authenticity! The portions was big did not make me overfull and we were able to have an appetizer of guacamole and chips as well! To drink I had some delicious fresh squeezed lemonade! The atmosphere is relaxing and atmospheric which is a great addition to the meal!

Such a warm funky atmosphere here, great for a date night but also could easily host a large party. And a unique menu too. The margaritas are worth every penny. So glad to have this gem down in this area! We will definitely be back!

!!! WARNING — AVOID !!! Found a very large cooked piece of plastic at the end of my burrito. Showed the server, he took it from the table, but didn’t apologize or even offer to take it off the bill. Sadly, we won’t be back and I suggest you avoid this place and not promote these sorts of business practices.

My husband and I just moved into the building about a week ago. We were so eager to try this place out prior to even moving here. We were not disappointed. The recipes are either family or friend shared. They have absolutely no canned ingredients. Everything we’ve had here in the two visits has been AMAZING. I haven’t had Mexican food that was so flavorful since I used to live in L.A. The prices aren’t bad considering the dining experience. You absolutely get the downtown posh dining experience without having to fight or pay for good parking. The restaurant will validate your parking for two hours. I saw some people were disappointed in the service, but we have had nothing but warm hospitality. The owner mentioned to us that she intends to open for lunch doing a street taco style bar and opening for brunch. The street taco style bar is in the trial process so be sure to call in to see if they’re open for lunch. Brunch is also in the works. We can’t wait until we can see what else the restaurant has to offer. Make sure you try the queso fundido appetizer. You won’t regret it! Also, have Ana make your margarita. When she prepares her drinks, she shakes the mix like a polaroid picture. ;)

I live right across the street and I love Huarachitos! The tortillas here are authentic… The best I’ve had anywhere. I love their margarita and tequila sunrise! Entrees: cochinita pibill & pollo ranchero they serve here are my favorites. Would also recommend fried jalapeño & empanaditas among starters: they are awesome!!! Very friendly people! This place is so awesome, it can outshine any decent restaurant in downtown Seattle or Columbia city… Despite the fact that it is situated far from those centers of attraction. There is a lot of character to this place and the people who run it. I learned that they rebuilt it from scratch(check the end of their menu for the full story) after a devastating fire a couple of years ago… More intriguing and checkered history than I’d ever have imagined.

The food here is alright, but the service is awful. I’ve given them three or four chances but it has gotten worse every time. Every time we wanted something, we had to flag someone down. Nobody checked to refill our drinks. We wanted to try dessert, but the server just dumped off our check without even asking if we wanted any more. I live just down the street. It’s so convenient, but I’m too embarrassed to bring people here anymore. I drive by and the place is looking more deserted as time goes by. It’s a Friday night and nobody is in there. I’m anxious for this worthless place to go out of business so we can get a great restaurant in this cool location.

I have given this place a few more tries since they opened, and I have to say it has improved. I am a huge fan of the chicken nachos and the calamari and the service. The guys here are lovely and the bartender,(I don’t know her name) but she has concocted many different coconuty drinks for me. So I think it’s fair to say this is one of my favorite happy hour spots now and the outdoor seating in the summer was such a nice after-work stop!

2nd time around service was better, still waited a while to be served though. There’s some kind of disconnect between the bar and waitstaff, though. One of the drinks was wrong(Margarita instead of a soda…), its little wonder they took so long to get out… Their food though, soooo good. Had the chile relleno, would recommend.

Amazing guacamole, among other tasty treats! Great happy hour, friendly staff and very inviting atmosphere. I ordered the pork empenaditas off of the happy hour menu. A spectacular deal 3 for $ 5! They were lightly crunchy in the outside and the pork was super moist on the inside. Garnished with Pico, lettuce, crema and Mexican cheese. I will definitely be back with friends in tow!

Truly a neighborhood gem, but worth the trip from anywhere! Just steps from the lightrail at Othello Station, but covered parking is also available. We’ve eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The menu is truly a «dartboard«menu… Just throw a dart, you’ll hit a winner!

I usually only write reviews after I’ve been to a specific location a few times, however coming back here may be unlikely or at least not a priority. I went here for a cinco de mayo dinner and beat the dinner seating rush by just a few minutes. It was flat out busy with a wait to be seated. +/-ordered mole and it was average. If you’re into mole they give you tons with a tiny dollop of sour cream and onions to the side. The crepas con pollo were good. Crepas held their form and batter was good for the chicken and serves as smothered in the mole. — they charge for chips and guacamole and the guac was lacking garlic and/or onion. Heavy cilantro for sure and the avocado may have been too fresh(not ripe enough) as it was on the harder versus mushy side Noteworthy: + free indoor parking for two hours — service was pretty slow or at least seemed understaffed for cinco de mayo + staff was nice when they noticed you or came by

Beautifully decorated and everything tasted fresh with high-quality ingredients. Service was friendly and efficient. We had guacamole and salsa and chips with chicken fajitas. Delicious. Can’t think of a thing I’d suggest improving. We’ll be back.

Huarachito’s has potential to be a 5 star restaurant. It’s clean, there’s plenty of parking, the ambience is great, and the service is spectacular. But what stops this place from being a 5 star restaurant is the food. I came here on Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend. We’ve celebrated extravagantly the past few years and wanted to take it down a notch and just celebrate it casually. I’ve seen photos on Unilocal and noticed how romantic and casual the décor was. Plus it was only a mile or two away from home. Huarachito’s is located on Othello street, less than a block away from the lightrail station. There is street parking and a parking garage which they validate! Once inside, we were greeted by the aroma of spices and yummy food. We were instantly hooked and so excited to order. We ordered the fried jalapenos which were stuffed with cream cheese and chorizo, chips and salsa, horchata, flautas, and carne asada. Our server, Roberto was very very nice. He provided great customer service. Everything my boyfriend and I ate we agreed that the seasoning was off. The fried jalapenos tasted like nothing. It was just straight up spicy. The meat inside the flautas were super dry. The chips and salsa were fine but come on they weren’t complimentary :-(The portion for the carne asada was huge but it lacked a lot of flavor. The rice too. The only thing that honestly saved the meal was our sweet waiter and the horchata which came with refills! I really really want to like this place but I can’t :(the food is so disappointing.

I go there for the Chile Relleno, and am never disappointed. Their veggie burritos are absolutely mouth watering. I can’t get enough! The décor has a great ambiance to and lighting set perfect. The staff has absolute positive vibe, and love how it has an open kitchen to show just how cleanly the restaurant is, which makes me feel comfortable eating there.

Get yourself there today. We went to their original location in Hillman City quite often. This new location is even nicer: good ambiance, bigger place, plus 2 hours free parking in the attached garage. Also, obviously all the comida remains delicioso! We especially like the mole, and that dark(smoky may be a better word) salsa that comes with the chips.

Came here for Happy Hour. I’ll admit that some friends have hyped the place up, but I was a bit disappointed. Sat at the bar and wanted a beer on tap, only to learn that their taps are down tonight. I decided against a bottled Corona and went for the Happy Hour Margarita. It was refreshing a generously sized. For food, I struck out again — no tamales tonight. Tried the empanaditas, but disappointed that the chicken was quite dry inside. They were freshly fried and presented with fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Also had the fried jalapeños, which were quite delicious. I would definitely get the jalapeños again. Looking forward to trying the calamari next time. Despite these shortcomings, I’m quite certain I’ll give it another chance.

Soooo good! Tried multiple meats. All perfectly seasoned. Will definitely be back! Huge mug of Coke was an awesome surprise. Only minor complaint would be I had to resist eating my carnitas while waiting for tortillas to arrive… but so worth the wait.

The phoenix rises from the ashes! Huarachitos used to be a mile or two up MLK, before closing a few years back. We really liked it and were sorry to see it bite the dust. Last night, I was headed down Othello on my way to Columbia City to check out another Mexican restaurant. But when I saw Huarachitos sign, I just had to stop and check ‘em out. The interior of the reincarnated Huarachitos is bigger and better than before. I loved the high ceilings, bright colors, and big painting in back of the bar. The cumbia they were playing was excellent. It’s not often that the first ten or so songs I hear when I go to a restaurant are songs that I’ve already bookmarked on Spotify. I jumped at the opportunity to try the special of the night: Consome de Borrego(lamb soup), $ 15. I liked it when my server described how the juices from the cooking lamb were harvested and then used in the soup broth. The soup was five stars plus. Absolutely delicious with a wonderful and complex flavor! The soup was simply prepared, with lamb, avocado and rice. The soup came with finely diced white onion on the side, which I added to the soup. The onion made the soup even better. Service and hospitality could have been better. When I arrived I asked for seating for one, and a dude tried to seat me at the bar. Fortunately, he relented and let me have a table(the restaurant was about ¼ filled). The young Caucasian woman who was my server seemed inexperienced. She was prompt enough in taking my order, but never came back to check on me. After I was done eating, I waited and waited — then waited some more — for my check to appear. I poked my head up from my iPhone and saw my server chatting with somebody in the kitchen as she was diddling with silverware on a counter. Finally, I caught her eye and she brought the check over. Also, I was rather disappointed that as I left the restaurant, none of the staff acknowledged or thanked me. Still, past experiences at Huarachitos were excellent, and using them as a guide, I plan on bringing JP here for dinner.
