I love ho ho! The lady that works here is the best! she makes anyone feel welcome and eating there delightul. Anytime we have friends that are vegan with us she offers many different dishes they can eat. I love the chow mein with soft noodles, duck and the whole fried fish. The portions are huge and the prices are fair. They are open early and open late and everything i’ve tried from here has been great. One of my favorite places!

The service was great! I really love the owner of this place, she makes you feel welcomed and cared for, however the food… I do not think it is worth the price. The Kung Pao chicken was very sweet– it had no hint of the spiciness one hopes when ordering this dish. The Chow Mein was very good! the noodles were perfect and the Beef was Tender. The hot and Sour soup– though the flavor of the soup was good, we ordered the seafood version and felt the lack of seafood in it. I would probably go to explore the other Chinese places around this one before coming back to this one.

Honey cashew prawns and bok choy with anything — freshest bok choy in the I-district. Runs about $ 20/person including a fairly decent warm sake for all. Open til wee hours. All thumbs up.

Been coming here since the early 90’s and then quit. Some of the best americanized chinese food around and open until 3:00 a.m. A number of the staff from Hing Loon moved over after they closed and they’re super friendly, which is rare in soup nazi chinatown.

If I could put a negative star I would. Food was cheap meat and no flavor! My husband asked for a recommendation on a dish so she brought out 2 dishes and charges us for both! Who would order 2 entrees for 1 person! Really? When we asked what the extra dish was for she said there is no returns or refunds! We didn’t even touch the food! The food was not good and over priced! Will never come back! Would rather have Panda Express(yuk) than this place!

The food was good but overpriced compare to the menu posted online. The portion size was on the below average side. The size of the dishes were something you should see on the lunch menu.

If you think that Chung King Chicken Chow Mein in a can is «Chinese» food, this is the place you’ve been dreaming of! The most bland food possible. I ordered through BiteSquad, and the menu descriptions do very little to prepare you for the food you will receive. Of course, you *might* be someone who can read the cook’s mind, in which case a menu is redundant. If you want the BEST Chinese Food Seattle has to offer, don’t start here. If you swoon when you recall the canned«Chinese Food» of your youth, you’ll feel right at home here. I do like the external décor of the restaurant, but keep walking by; Seattle’s International District has some real gems. This just ain’t one of ‘em.

Honey Cashew prawns… plus the woman who runs it recognized me from the year before. Salt and pepper crab is great too.

The lady who runs this place always gives me the feeling that she’s a long-lost aunt who’s happy to feed me! She is so adorable. She greets you at the door with so much warmth, it makes you feel like giving her a hug. When you give her your order, she suggests something that can make it better, but she is never pushy. Food isn’t fancy, but unfailingly good. Portions are amazingly large. Every time I visit, I get the Westlake Beef Soup. It’s essentially an egg drop soup with lots of tiny chunks of beef and mushrooms and cilantro. It’s pretty simple but hits the spot every time. It’s a great start. The salted steamed chicken is a good choice, if you want a clean dish for an entrée. I need to say this because at some point in your life, you might have to bring a diet-conscious individual to a Chinese restaurant, and this works perfectly. The lady tells you it’s best if you douse it a little bit with the spicy soy sauce she makes in-house, and she’s right. It’s not the tidiest place, of course, as you might expect. This is Chinatown, not Denny Triangle.

A little more expensive restaurant, but the quality of their food was really good as well as not so oily. They also awarded the entertainment card for lunch even if it stated it was for dinner only, so it was a little cheaper for us: Sizzling pepper steak — 5 stars — This dish was very tasty and all the sauces blended well with the meat and vegetables. We’d definitely order this again. Gailan(Chinese broccoli) and squid — 4 stars– this combination is hardly on any Chinese restaurant menu and the gailan was very fresh. I usually don’t like squid because most restaurants make it very rubbery with no taste, but it was very tasty and fresh, so I was able to enjoy it. Service — 5 stars — the waitress was very friendly and personable and chatted with us for a while. When we returned to chinatown on another day, they also let us use their bathrooms after buying some soda to enjoy before the seafare parade started.

Went for late Chinese tonight. Quick to get table and the server/host was friendly in explaining dishes. The hostess was very nice in honoring an older gift certificate and was able to process electronically. She requested«printout for future, but in this day and age… why? Oh, so they could have. Record. Uhhh. Just write the certificate number down.» Oh, well. Just happy she honored! I’m glad we ordered the $ 18.95 black bean stir fried lobster. Perfectly cooked lobster where the meat was very tender and the blk bean sauce with oinions and green peppers was not over spiced with saltiness. It was ice to taste the flavored presented on the dish. We ordered the $ 13.95 special of 3 types mushroom with Bok Choy which was lightly seasoned also letting me taste the flavors of the shroom’. High prices for specials as you really aren’t sure how much any seafood truly weighs. Take in the over smiles and enjoy the food. It was a hit tonight. High price doesn’t mean high class in décor or cleanliness. Teapot was broken/floor dirty/bathrooms not workable and not great in hygiene. However, tonight for the food was a hit.

A family favorite! I have been going here since I was eight. The good is great! Cheap too. I recommend going during lunch time and getting their WONTONNOODLESOUP! So yummy and good on a cold day! My Personal Restaurant Rating Key One star: the food was bad and I had a negative experience. Two star: I had a more negative experience and would not come here again but the food was good so I may. Three store: Everything is good except one thing. Example-the food is good, the price is more reasonable but the atmosphere is lacking class. Or the food is good, the atmosphere is good, but they over charged us. These three stars are actually my favorite types of restaurants to go eat at if the reason is due to the atmosphere because they are usually delicious and reasonably priced. Four stars: Everything is great, food and experience. However the price is definitely on the upper end. I would not recommend this first to Obama unless he didn’t like my five stars. These are restaurants you can take your boss or your mother-in-laws to impress them, however they still don’t fit into the five star category. A bit fancier than my three stars, hence I don’t often eat here unless there is an occasion for it or there is a groupon that gives me a bit of a discount! Five stars: I would recommend this to Obama. The price may be on the upper end but the experience and the taste is so exquisite, it is actually worth every nickel and dime.

Great service and taste like real Chinese food!!! I always passes through this restaurant, but never has the opportunity this walk in and try their food. I should say the whole dining experience was great!!! The waitress who I assumed is the boss of the restaurant was so nice and kind and helpful. All the workers in the restaurant works efficiently. Our food came out nice and quick. I and my friends ordered Chinese little bakchoi which the waitress introduced and encouraged us to try. It was worth trying, it was very tasty and sweet. We also ordered Sweet and Sour Spareribs, Grandmother’s Tofu and Roasted Pork with Cod Fillet Combo Hot Pot. They all tasted great, though I should say that it was not what I imagined to have for the Grandmother’s Tofu. I recognized that their menu said it is a vegetarian dish, but for the traditional Grandmother’s Tofu should be spicy. Anyway, it turned out that the non-spicy Grandmother’s Tofu recipe taste delicious. I guess this will be my new dining corner in Seattle. Big thumbs up!!!

Do not go after midnight when you are very hungry… You will be duped! I really think we paid 15.99 for egg drop soup. The soup we ordered is described as crab & shark fin. Priced at 29.99, but the waitress offered to us at a ½ special. We also originally ordered the cod with Chinese greens. We received her special, fried rockfish(39.99) I was suspicious of the constant ultra sweet, fast talking waitress soon after receiving our dishes. By the time I arrived home, I had major stomach cramps! In the wee hours of the morning, I realized the soup is nothing more then egg drop soup. I was furious!

My cousins and I were out late on a Sunday night and we were looking for a place to eat. It was around 2am so this was one of the few places that was opened. We ordered some dishes to share family style. The soup we had was just okay. The beef and the other dish pictured were so salty! we sent it back and they made it again for us. It was still a bit salty so I did not really care for it. Kind of lost my appetite.
