Creamy and impressive hemp and soy milk lattes. i wish they offered almond milk or other nut milks. Good espresso roast.

Fantastic coffee, gorgeous baristas and very sweet clientele. Love, love, love this place. Herkimer Phinney is how most people in the rest of the US think of Seattle, yet one of the growing few places that retain the true Seattle essence inside of this massive blooming corporate tech culture invading our flannel space. Go back to sunny California, and laptop there! Or at least bring back the flannel and better music. Geez, Louise! And stop raising our taxes!

Been to this location two days this week. The prosciutto and gruyère croissant is t o. d i e. f o r. Fantastic coffee. This might be my new Bauhaus replacement. I really like how you order and then they make your drink and give it to you as you pay so you’re not waiting around. Very quick service.

Great drip coffee, definitely need to come back here. I just wish they were open later than 6pm cuz I like to study later at night. The quality of the roasts and the warm inviting environment are more than enough encouragement to get me into gear earlier though :)

Great atmosphere for studying. I’m not normally a coffee person but I got the café mocha which was pretty good. My bf just got a drip coffee and he said it was really good. Great location too, and we were able to find parking easily on a side street.

Me: I’d like a tall drip please Blonde barista/cashier: Here’s your iced brew… Me: I’m sorry, I thought I ordered a tall drip? Blonde barista: maybe you said brew. It happens all the time… whatever. That’ll be $ 9.80 WTF? This coffee shop makes Starbucks taste good… at least they’re nice… Oh wait, they weren’t nice either. Gawd I miss Philz coffee in the Bay Area.

Cool place to hang out for a while, but the coffee was awful. I’ll be visiting the one near Cowen Park, so maybe my rating will change along with the location…

I’m not in Greenwood often, but I was looking for a place to get some work done recently, and in the neighborhood. I had a cortado, and it was astonishingly good. Just spectacular. I only give four stars because I also had a blueberry muffin and it was totally dry and stale. It’s obviously unimportant — I’d rather a coffee shop work really hard on making excellent coffee than put a pile of energy into their baked goods(unless that’s their specialty), but it’s nice to be able to have a snack without having to leave, and it took me like three glasses of water to get the muffin down, it was that dry. But that cortado. I’m gonna have to spend more time in Greenwood.

I don’t understand giving this place less than five stars. Consistently great product and service. All the baristas are beyond nice even though they are always busy. A Herkimer latte is a joyful thing.

These guys produce the best drip coffee in Seattle. I’m always disappointed when I end someplace else.

Love. Love the coffee, love the prices, love the name(what up NY?!), love the atmosphere, love the baristas! It’s as simple as that!

Friendly staff, pretty quick service. I ordered hot blackberry tea to-go and hubby tried Café Americano. Both tasty! Great neighborhood too. I wanted to order everything in the bakery case, but we had just eaten. next time!

This is one of my favorite coffee digs in Seattle – especially on a Saturday morning – but just about any time will do. It is also the spot where Herkimer roast their beans – so if you come on a Saturday morning it’s likely the house’ll be filled with that lovely fragrance of roasting coffee and the sounds of the cooling tray mixing those delicious little beans around. I did learn this morning that apparently they only do the almond croissants on the weekend – which is a bummer, but I somehow survived with a broccoli cheese croissant that was delicious. My standard drink is a tall Americano – but the baristas here are good all around. They do a mean cold brew, too. Yes, please.

I love the Phinney Ridge Herkimer. They have some of the best regular coffee and decaf in town, the staff is friendly, the tables are sturdy, there are lots of plugs if you need one, and it’s a great spot to run into neighbors and socialize. It’s hard to find decent decaf and Herkimer does a good job. They have some good scones and muffins, but the food options are limited.

I came here on my last Seattle trip earlier this year to get a basic decafe non sugar latte with almond milk. Made to perfection, decent price and good customer service.

There aren’t enough plug-ins for laptops! Had I known this, I wouldn’t have come by here. This coffee shop definitely needs more plug-ins but maybe this is a way to deter students from hanging out here all day? a

Great atmosphere and staff but honestly the coffee isn’t even at Starbucks standards. Also the WiFi is terrible.

Seattle, scratch that, the WORLD, of coffee owes it to Herkimer for keeping the tradition of well done, simple to understand flavors, and by far one of, if not THE, best coffees around. I live in D.C. and manage to get my hands on a monthly batch of these, sucker-punch your taste buds, beans. Every time I make it back to the 206, every morning starts at the shop in Greenwood, lucky you if you end up during their roasting time, your nose will forever love you.

I bought the first pound of beans for my new place here and it was a revelation. They have incredible coffee — and quite a variety. From single origin to blends, from dark to mild, they have great stuff and none of it is over roasted. Their prepared drinks are a work of art. This is really a great neighborhood shop, where you can chat up the baristas. Very Seattle — art on the walls, dog owners sitting outside rain or shine. The space is bigger than it looks, so feel free to bring a group. The coffee bar area is small, but they have an adjacent room with some larger tables for study groups, work, or just hanging out. You can also sit on a kind of ledge against the window outside, which makes for fun people watching. They have really delightful pastries. I recommend the cheese and broccoli croissant. I spent an entire Sunday morning once with a café au lait, a croissant, sitting by their huge(almost) floor to ceiling windows alternatively people watching and reading. This place is a gem.

I have only been to Herkimer’s Greenwood and University District locations and revisited the Greenwood site today with a college friend earlier this afternoon. The Greenwood-Phinney Ridge neighborhoods are very lucky to have a large selection of indie cafes/coffee shops, like Herkimer. Nice to see that the customer service from the baristas has remained friendly, pastry case well stocked, and treated to a nice and strong 16 ounce mocha. I’ve always liked their nice sunny corner location, background music, pile of newspapers to peruse, cool views of the coffee bean production area and both outdoor pedestrian and canine traffic, good mix of the laptop crowd and folks like us there to have conversation over coffees. Good to note that they’ve opened another location in South Lake Union and now take debit/credit cards. I will have to remember to start bringing my own cup or commuter cup from my car though. This is the third indie café I’ve been to within a week that used a paper cup. Seems there’s a shortage of crockery for 16 ounce volumes!

One of the best roast in town. Foam is awesome and the staff friendly.
