Their prices recently went up pretty steeply and frankly I don’t think the rise is merited by the quality of the food. Had a pretty basic gyro and basically enjoyed it, nothing fancy happening in these parts. I did really like their tzatziki but that seemed to be the only bright spot of an otherwise muted dining experience.

I entered Gyro World thinking that Gyros were hard to fuck up. I’ve had some less than excellent gyros, but they’ve all been tasty. Some stand out(gyros in Israel, or from, say, Mr. Gyros), and some just meld into the background(I’d go back, but it wasn’t mindblowing), but until I went to Gyro world I had never encounter a gyro place I wouldn’t go back to. My gyro wasn’t made with gyro meat(wtf?) and all it had was lettuce in it. A side of tzakiti accompanied, but really? The positives: 1) The music was excellent as I sat and waited. Very upbeat Latin guitars. 2) My pita was nice and hot Neither are reasons to go back.

just can’t go here again. i always get take out, & the one star is for the one time that they got it right. every other time, i order lamb, i get beef, or chicken, or no tsatziki, or enough feta to feed half a mosquito for half a second. they don’t even have the big spinning stick of compressed lamb goodness; it’s some frozen stuff they use. it’s a dang shame that such a central spot is filled with such lack-of-love.

Ok, so I grew up eating a lot of gyros back home and am not ashamed to say I’m a total snob when it comes to this particular food item. When I walk into a gyro shop, I’m looking for a lot. The meat’s gotta be tendah(tender) and MOIST people. I want you to slice it off the rack right when I order it. I don’t want that pre-sliced shit that’s been sitting on a warmer all day. That meat is no longer moist, sir. And you know it’s not. If I catch you putting anything but diced onion on my sandwich(with a possible exception for tomato), shit might get real. Please, please, PLEASE don’t drown my sammie in tzatziki sauce. I still wanna taste the lamb if that’s at all an option. Just drizzle it, pimpin. Drizzle it on my sammich. Oh, and could you please toast my pita juuuuust a little? If it’s cold it falls apart. I think you know this and just don’t care. Sad. Now with all that being said, if you want a good gyro at a super cheap price(are they crazy), then you need to hit this place up. Can you say«A Little Slice of Heaven»? Cause that’s exactly what this place is. They didn’t have curly fries, but with the way that gyro was wooing my taste buds, who the hell cares? Damn the fries! Post Script; the only reason they only get four stars is because my meal was sans curly fries. Go get one. Now. You know you’re hungry.

This place is fine. I got a lamb gyro and it was good enough but not much to write home about. I ordered it spicy but didn’t particularly find it so. I didn’t have any of the service or food handling issues that other reviewers have mentioned, so that’s good. This place is new and I’m sure they’re still trying to find their groove. I would file this restaurant under ‘my lady went out without me and I don’t feel like cooking’. Good enough for its purpose. And while I’ll go back, I hope it’s gets better.

I gave these guys 5 stars because you get the most here for your buck. VARIETY! It is the spice of life. I like to order the gyro plate. You get the gyro, salad, dolmades, pita, tzatziki, hummus! Oh and it comes with a free fountain drink. You cant beat a stick at that! I often eat Greek food because it is healthier than a lot of other cuisines when your eating out. So I got to a lot of these types of places. Gyro World is my favorite on the hill! Its consistently great! Go there, your tastebuds will thank you!

Love this food and this sweet café, it’s perfectly excellent all the time. I wish they would open an upscale Iranian restaurant in Seattle, on Broadway.

This is by far my favorite gyro restaurant ever. Why? Gyro World not only has crack fries, but is also has the least garlicy tzatziki sauce ever. I generally avoid getting falafels and gyros out because the overly garlic tzatziki sauce, and if I do have a craving, I usually ask for the sauce on the side. At Gyro World however their sauce is mostly yogurt with a hint of garlic, which is awesome. Their chicken is great — tender, white meat with no gristle. Plus, the fries! They put special«greek» seasoning on them which make them addicting and delicious. And the best part is all the food is made to order right in front of you. The downfalls here are that the food is too expensive, they have mystery hours and they aren’t very friendly.

It’s hard to follow Nancy B.(9÷9÷2010), but I would add similar comments about the baklava(only a good idea if you have a strong craving and are not willing to travel far).

Pretty pricey for some greek food and it was just a plain gyros and disgusting veggies on the side. RIPOFF

They have gyros here. I like to call them JI-ROSE for fun and games and to seem dumber than I am, cause well — a bitch gets bored real easy like on account of my INSANELYHIGHIQ. And my eternally restless soul. Anyhoo — if you want to get some saltly lamb and some mediocre humus, without traveling more than a block from Vivace to do so — then I probably went here with you last week.

I love their chicken gyro loaded with veggies and chicken with a side of sauce that makes me melt. Highly recommend it, everyone I’ve taken here is a fan. I would write more, but on my way to go get another gyro!

I am by no means an expert in Greek food. Up until a year ago, I barely even knew what a gyro was. So it was a little strange when I suddenly found myself craving Greek food, and gyros in particular, following my excursion to Bluebird for the Unilocal ice cream event. Since I had been running around most of the day, I didn’t feel like spending an hour at a sit-down place, but then I remembered seeing a Gyro-something at the Broadway Market. The place is essentially a quick-serve fast food gyro place that serves some other items as well. I didn’t get fries but the people seated at the counter sure seemed to be enjoying theirs. I like that I could watch them grill my chicken hot and fresh and the service was friendly enough. Prices are quite reasonable, as my gyro cost about the same as one of QFC’s shrink-wrapped sandwiches and tasted far better. It was still nice and hot when I got home 10 – 15 minutes later, and putting the sauce on the side is a brilliant touch as I was able to control how much and when to add it, which minimized messy drip. Next time, I’ll go for the more traditional lamb gyro, and I might even like some fries with that.

I usually hit this spot around once or twice a month for the lunch special: Greek hamburger with fries and medium drink for under $ 6, I also order a side of tziki sauce for the fries. Great food and very friendly staff keep me coming back. I’ve also tried the gyro’s and they are also tasty and filling. This place can get very busy during lunch so try and get there between 11– 12 before the construction workers and mall employees come in. Nothing too fancy here, set up like a bistro with about 5 – 6 tables and around 6 stools for counter eating. Oh, and try the baklava also quite good.

It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food here is seriously yummy! This is probably why Gyro World has been here for years(decades?) inside Broadway Market. The french fries are good! They are salty and put spices on them(not sure what kind) but thin cut and crispy(I’ve never had them soggy here). If you eat inside the restaurant area, there are usually lots of gossip magazines to read while you eat as well(another star for that!). The veggie combo plate is my favorite, along with the fries and a soda. Try it, you’ll be surprised how good it is for a little restaurant tucked in Broadway Market.

I like this place tons, for what it is. It’s close to my house, it’s clean, they do have CRACK fries, the service is quick, and they just started new daily specials. They have the«always specials» but now they have actual NEW specials that depend on the day of the week. *mental note: write it down next time* It’s Seattle fast food. It costs more then Taco Bell, it tastes better, and its a lot healthier. Best ever take out Greek? Nope, but it’s still good. I walk four blocks and I’m happy. P. S. I happen to like more then the the place across the street.

I heart Gyro World. The gyros are perfectly portioned with just the right amount of everything and I can’t get enough of the tazaki sauce! I live right behind the Broadway Market so this quick fix is a great place to get decent, inexpensive food on the go. Proudly calling myself a regular I always receive a warm and friendly welcome from the familiar faces behind the counter. Give it a shot!
