I have been to Ginger Lime a few times and never did it impress. They service is fine but I the food is very average. I have heard a few stories from people who went there found weird things lingering in their food. One account was that Gum was found in the Phở order… needless to say, I would not recommend it to anyone. There are a million other Vietnamese places within just 5 blocks that are much more credible.

The food is affordable and its a great place for SU students. I usually get the phở, honey chicken, or spam fried rice. Ive been here multiple times and I have only received bad service with one waitress who honestly looks like she does not want to be there. She never checks up on you and only helps you when you get her attention.

If I could give less than a star I would. They have a sad excuse they call bubble tea and their phở is really bland. The quality of their food is also horrible. They only care about their business and not the customers. Their customer service is horrible. Once they did not get me my food for 45 minutes and I complained because I was running low on time. They had served so many other people who walked in after me. I told them to cancel my order because I had no more time to eat phở and they got mad at me and kicked me out of the restaurant! Go down the street to lemongrass. The quality of their food is way better anyways although its a little pricier.

Not a fan. The phở is bland and doesn’t have as much flavor as the 50 million other phở spots in the area. Their vegetables are obviously from a frozen bag and are often undercooked. The menu is pretty cheap though, so it is a popular choice for students. I heard the rice dishes aren’t as bad as the phở, but I don’t really want to go back and try if their main attraction(i.e. the phở) isn’t on point.

Be careful if you have a serious food allergy here. They are careless and irresponsible when handling food orders, even when asked specifically multiple times about ingredients that pertain to food allergies. My sister came to eat here today and has a severe gluten allergy. They sent her food back after forgetting about her allergy, and brought her a new dish which was, consequently, the same exact dish even though they told her they fixed it. She was violently ill all day and was rushed to urgent care. This is not okay, and they are just lucky that she was not deathly ill. You had better believe we will be making a call as soon as they open tomorrow.

Consistently good food and good service. Advice: Anything honey walnut is bound to be delicious, and their sandwiches are so delicious! I’ve loved going to this place for years and always recommend it to people passing through.

Ginger Lime is perfectly handy for a quick lunch near Seattle U. There is usually plentiful parking and the restaurant is clean and pleasant. Service was prompt, if a little confused. We didn’t receive an item we ordered but then we weren’t charged for it, so it worked out in the end. I had the rice noodle bowl with tofu and it was well seasoned and the portion size was more than adequate. It came with a little bowl of iceberg lettuce salad, which I could have lived without. My friend had the same bowl but with shrimp, and ate all of it. Prices are reasonable and they have discounts for students, so I think it’s a good choice for an easy, satisfying lunch.

This place is probably one of my favorite places to eat in Seattle. It is perfectly located across the street from SU, and you can get a quick sandwich to go, or eat in for a warm bowl of phở. For people who may not have had the best experience, this is definitely a budget eats, good food, no fuss restaurant. Don’t expect quality service, however every time I have eaten here I have NEVER experienced bad service. The owners/waitresses are kind and very helpful. They recommend new and different things on their menu and they are always striving to improve their menu based on what people want. My favorites are: 1. The Fresh Rolls 2. The Banh Mi sandwich with chicken 3. the special bun 4. the Phở 5. Spam fried rice

Great Banh Mi. Quick, easy and a convenient location for SU students. Friendly customer service. Clean interior. Will definitely be going back for $ 5 sandwiches

The best dish here isn’t Vietnamese but a nod to Hawaiian Asian fusion aka SPAMFRIEDRICE. The ginormous portion for 1 is more like for 3 – 4 with a healthy heaping of Spam and veggies. It’s my favorite besides the homecooked version. Having parents who first landed in Hawaii and picked up the Spam love and fed us kids plenty of its porky magic, I’m telling you to pass up the Vietnamese offerings(which are good also by the way) and order the SPAMFRIEDRICE. Do it!

This place is horrible. Seriously? Bad service, bad food. I ordered phở with beef ball, rare beef tenderloin and beef brisket. Portion is pretty huge, but if you enjoy eating phở with broth that taste like a mix of water and salt, this is your restaurant. I prefer spending a little bit more at Ba bar. If i could give it 0 star, i would. Spend your money somewhere else!

Less than a star. I dont get people who said that this is the«best vietnamese» restaurant. Service is like shit and so does the food. Plain and overpriced. Cmon people, be a better reviewever

Food: 3 Stars The phở is alright. The fact that there is only one size for phở is a little inconvenient, for I don’t eat all that much. I usually come here because it is the nearest phở restaurant to where I am living. I’ve also tried the spring rolls, which were actually really yummy. The Bahn Mi are actually my favorite, but could use a little more sriracha, but I won’t complain. Location: 4.5 Stars Like I mentioned above, Ginger Lime is down the road from where I am living, so the location is great. I’m not sure about the parking though because they seem to rely solely on foot traffic. I haven’t seen any parking spaces around it(maybe street parking, but I haven’t noticed). Price: 3.5 Stars The prices are reasonable, but CONFUSING. There are a bunch of things crossed off and this little card on the top left of the menu that says that everything is $ 0.50 more than listed in the menu, which, if you miss it, will become a very unpleasant surprise. The student discounts come in handy though, but it still isn’t the cheapest that I have seen. I think that I am just disgruntled about the confusion about the menu prices. Service: 3 Stars The service is actually not that great. They don’t seem very inviting or happy whenever I come in. The fact that I can’t pay with my credit card unless I spend $ 10 or more is also inconvenient. I am also not sure if I have to pay at the cashier or at my table because the servers are not attentive.

First off, I will say that Ginger Lime’s prices are fairly good, especially with my student discount. The food isn’t half bad either. So I give a star for pricing, and a star for the food quality. However, the service leaves much to be desired. The hostess/waitress is rude and seems unhappy to be there — when greeting people, she tells them to go to a table, then marches over, slaps a menu and utensil set down, and leaves. This time, while there, she was eating her own dinner at another table, then went to take people’s orders with her mouth still full of food. Ever heard of manners? She doesn’t write down orders, either — during a previous visit, she had to come back to our table twice to ask what we had ordered. If you’re not going to write things down, at least have a good enough memory to remember what your customer ordered. Her attitude is awful. She never smiles at customers, and generally seems to sneer at them — she didn’t come back to ask how our food was either. I suspect that she has some kind of relation to the owner/manager whether it be family member, spouse or whatever. Anyways, they need to get a different waitress/hostess — if this woman keeps working there, they’ll keep losing business. Bottom Line: I’ll probably come back despite the service, simply because I’m a broke college student, it’s close by, and the food is pretty good. But that doesn’t mean I have to tip well, if at all, for the crappy service.

Pretty good food, good prices. The service isn’t great, but then again for a quick dining place across from a university… It is what it is. I’d recommend phở or the vermicelli bowl.

We came in for their banh mi to get to-go. We got the bbq pork banh mi with a short wait. They were delicious! Our sandwich had BBQ pork, pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro, mayo, and sriracha. My only complaint is that they didn’t have pickled radishes and onions in the sandwich. It wasn’t bad that they substituted sriracha for jalapenos! Still had the spice. Overall, they were delicious. It would have been even more delicious to add pickled radish and onion. :)

Ginger lime is a great place to grab lunch across the street from Seattle U. The prices are pretty good and the food is average. I certainly prefer it over Subway, which is the only other lunch place in the vicinity. The Bahn Mi sandwich is a great deal. It comes with a salad, drink, and fruit for around $ 6. They also have quite a few other dishes to chose from too.

Went here for dinner and ordered the veggie spring rolls– some were good, but one was particularly wonky, thus making the whole meal a bit off-putting. Our server never looked me in the eye, so that had me on edge a bit. Overall rather small portions, an additional charge on card transactions, and a closed-off deli during dinner time make me feel like one would have a better time here if only planning to grab a quick to-go bite off the lunch menu, rather than try to enjoy an atmospheric sit-down meal.

As a Seattle U alumni I’ve been a patron of this place for seven years now and I am addicted to their phở and their ginger chicken stir fry. The phở comes in one size: large and inexpensive :) The restaurant is family run and they are all very friendly.

This place is super convenient for students at SU. I come in here at least 2 times a week for phở and spring rolls. They have dinner specials too(I think they start at 3 and end at 6pm). I like their phở variety. It’s very vegetarian friendly. Staff here are pretty attentive, but I do usually get up and pay at the end of my meal instead of hailing a waitress down during the lunch rush. This place is definitely not the cheapest place, but I can usually get pork and shrimp spring rolls for about $ 6 and a large bowl of phở(with extra noodles) for about $ 7.50.
