I stopped by around 8:15am to hang out for a bit before work. I ordered a small drip coffee — I paid $ 1. Just one dollar! This kind of deal in Seattle is unheard of. The best part is that refills are also only a buck, if you feel like being an honest person and putting money in their little refill money jar. Atmosphere is fun, the walls are bright, and the staff are friendly and the perfect amount of chatty. The Mexican Mocha is delicious(EXCEPT some baristas don’t seem to know how to properly add whip cream). If you try any of the food here, I’d recommend the breakfast sandwich with cheese, sausage & roasted veggies. It’s perfect, and fairly cheap!

Came here for lunch with a friend, after deciding what to eat and drink the next challenge was to find a place to sit and enjoy our meals… the half café was occupied by solo hipsters blocking tables with their notebooks. So maybe it’s great to work here, but it didn’t feel very social to me as we just wanted to have a nice chatty lunch. My Burrito was okay, the salsa was great, the BLT looked pretty good. I also liked the design, a bit hippy/mexican style. I think I might come back some day, but before that I’m going to try some other spots on Queen Anne hill.

So ever since I came back from Miami I’ve been having Cuban café con leche withdrawals! So of course when I came back home to Seattle I instantly went on the hunt for my Cuban coffee and Empanada fix! Came here on a Sunday morning and it was a pretty popular spot! The staff was very friendly and informative. I ordered an 8oz café con leche. It was pretty good. Not quite the taste I am searching for but pretty close. I think this one was a double so it tasted a little too strong for a short so maybe I need to ask for a single next time. So just FYI their café con leche is a pretty descent replica. I was very bummed that they didn’t offer the spinach empanadas anymore but I’ll keep searching for a place that does! ;) Overall this looks like a pretty cool place to hangout with friends and enjoy good coffee.

Came in on a Sunday during the summer with my girlfriend for coffee and lunch. This is a pretty casual and fun place. She got the iced vanilla latte and I got the con leche. Both very good. We both also for the sandwich. This place has indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors in the shade. It was pretty lovely. The service was fast. The staff was friendly and professional. The noise level was pretty low. This is also a kids friendly coffee shop. Lots of toys and books for the little one. Overall, this is a nice little coffee shop tucked in the hustle and bustle of Queen Anne.

This is one of the more unique(in a good way) coffee shops I’ve been to around Seattle. It is brightly & colorfully decorated with a small seating area inside, and a patio with tables as well for a warm day. Since it’s in upper queen anne, street parking is free & plentiful. Their coffee is pretty different from the usual fare in most places. Their coffee is much stronger and more filling, so I’m a fan. They also have a small selection of baked stuff and empanadas. I really enjoyed the coconut bread. They also have a small selection of cuban sandwiches and burritos. The sandwiches are served with chips or a salad. Even though the food is reasonably good, I found the quantity measly for the cost $ 11. It is very different from the more famous cuban/carrabean sandwich shops, less filling, and also more expensive. Next time, I’m sticking to the coffee and baked stuff. Service is friendly and excellent. It seems to be a very popular place in the neighborhood, and so getting a table inside during lunch hour might be a challenge. Ditch starbucks, go here next time!!!

Hands down one of THEBESTCOFFEESHOP/CAFEs in Seattle. At the top of Queen Anne and usually easy parking. Great coffee and organic tea but even better are their fresh-made extensive selections of pastries, savory and sweet hand pies, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, frittatas and a variety of them are gluten free. Free Wi-Fi, friendly and consistent service. Inside and outdoor seating and even some beer /wine for happy hour. Same ownership as Cloud City Coffee in the Maple Leaf neighborhood where you’ll find a lot of the same fab foods but more salad options.

Reminds me a lot of the coffee houses I frequented in Berkeley CA, and the U-District cafes one might have found throughout the 1970s. Nice little crunchy, hippiesque, romper room style café with above average coffee items, pastries, comfort breakfast and lunch menus. The crowd is a congregate of somewhat nonsocial techies, moms, students and run-of-the-mill Bohemian literary types; Who, are either working on their laptops, reading«The Stranger» or sharing beverages with parents, college-aged offspring, and/or coworkers/clients. Witnessing some of the snorting laughter, geeky giggling and embarrassingly awkward body language it also appears to be a preferred local testing ground for pre first date interviews prior to venturing onto a level 1 relationship status. I ordered the Theo™ dark chocolate 20 oz Cuban mocha which is slightly bitter… not so sweet, just as it should be. The Ropa Vieja sandwich with mojo sauce, swiss cheese, lettuce, roasted garlic aoli, and Mama Lil’s peppers served on house baked cuban bread however could’ve been more flavorful. The aioli didn’t ‘pop’ with garlicky creaminess at all. And certainly not strong enough in comparison with what I’m used to most anywhere else(let alone at a Cuban centric place). My recommendation would be to add horseradish and small pinch of cumin(especially when served with beef). As is, there’s hardly any flavor in the Ropa at all — except the beef. The lettuce was limp, the bread was crisp. Okay but nothing special. My final assessment is the food to be fair to decent at best = 3.1 stars; good if you’re hungry and/or have a sensitive palate. Their coffee however, is good to very good = 4.1 stars. Go for the ‘café cubano’ and you’ll be more than content.

We love El Diablo! Friendly staff, delicious coffee drinks. Breve café con leche is delicious! It’s usually pretty busy and I’ll admit we’ve always gotten our drinks to go so we’ve never really tried finding a seat in the bustle. The décor is fun and we’ve tried a few of their pastry items, which were tasty(pumpkin spice alfajores)! We’re close so we come here every weekend for our morning caffeine.

Cute coffee shop in Queen Anne. Always packed and busy. They can get a little back logged with drink orders, so the wait can be long. Their drip coffee is only $ 1 for an 8 oz(what a steal!) and you can do refills by yourself — they have a small cash box that you pay based on the honor code. They have a cute back patio area for seating, since the main area is always crowded and full. Their coconut chai latte was hands down one of the best drinks I’ve had — it was sweet, but not overly so, and spicy enough without it being overpowering. Their pumpkin chai definitely tasted like real pumpkin for you pumpkin lovers out there.

Really good«Mexican Hot Chocolate»! Also had a quiche– could have been a little warmer but not lacking in flavor! I think there’s supposed to be free wifi as well but I couldn’t access it for the life of me(inconvenient as I grabbed a table in hopes of getting some studying done while I munched)… Oh well! I’ll probably be back at some point to try an empanada next time and get some more cocoa as the weather gets colder :) PROPS to the friendly staff and super quick service

Being the sister city to PDX, its hard to find good coffee in Seattle, this takes the cake. With a Latin influence not only can you get cubanos, but they have the best empanadas and they are huge. They are better than any I have had in Buenos Aires! Bueno!

Great coffee, great food and a very pleasant staff. Good job! Apparently Unilocal thinks I need to include more info for this to count as a review and not a tip. Well, tough.

In a city full of coffeeshops, El Diablo stands out! It has lots of beautiful art and murals, with a distinctly Cuban twist(note the Cuban coffee on the menu). I had a breakfast burrito here as well as coffee, and it only ran me $ 6(and they offer coffee refills for $ 1). The breakfast burrito was quite small, but maybe I should have checked before I ordered. Location in a very quaint little area of Queen Anne right next to a bookstore.

After experiencing a food coma from brunch in Queen Anne we wanted to stop for coffee. El Diablo coffee is about 2 blocks from the Queen Anne Playfield, so we thought we would stop by. This place has cartoon Devils drawn on the walls but somehow still manages to be cute. There’s space to sit on the inside but there’s also a cute patio on the outside. There’s a little section that’s cornered off on the patio and it’s only for 21 year olds after 12pm. There’s even a bookstore next door in case you wanted to drink coffee and read! I got the cold brew and my friend got the Theo Mocha – both were good! The cold brew was smooth and well done and left me pretty caffeinated. Usually I haven’t been let down by cold brews and this place lives up to the hype.

Neat place for working, chilling, and of course drinking coffee! Lots of work tables and outlets. There’s even a corner nook for the kiddos to play. I love the outdoor seating as well! I had a vanilla latte(my standard drink), and gave my free Unilocal coffee deal to my friend. She had a soy coconut iced latte. $ 4 for two drinks; great deal! Worth checking out if you’re in the Queen Anne area.

My boyfriend was so in love with the staff at El Diablo that it provided me with a full morning’s worth of teasing. Him: No but seriously I loved their staff, I would go there like all the time if we lived here babe. Me: I know, you have said that like five times now. The Good: Store is darling and bright, I loved the little murals on the wall, and the beautiful pastries they had out. I also loved their«honor system» coffee. Where else can you grab a lovely little cup of coffee for a buck and be right back out the door? Answer: Nowhere I have been before. Their breakfast burrito, though teensy tiny, was delicious. Frankly there is something to say for not serving people gigantic portions of so-so food(I know that is anti American). Boyfriend had not one but two Cubanos(aka sweetened jet fuel) and we grabbed a muffin to-go as well and it tided us over during a later in they day hike. And yes the staff are awesome and cute. The Bad: Nothing

Best staff! Best coffee! Best pastries! Period. This is the place where everyone knows your name. Everyone is amazing and you can get a card where you get seven coffees and get three free! This place is my coffee heaven!

This cute and appropraitely named coffee shop has character and a pretty delicious latte. Located in Queen Anne, the coffee shop is right next door to a bookstore. The decorations on the wall are colorful and very festive. There is an adorable patio area in the back, which is conducive for friends, conversation and laughter. The café also serves lunch but we came for breakfast instead. The turkey, cheddar and English muffin hit the spot but it also helped that I was pretty hungry, too. If you check into Unilocal, you get 1 free coffee with a coffee purchase. It’s better than nothing and a pretty good deal. Unfortunately I didn’t get any coffee art in my cup such as a devil made of frothy foam but it was still a good tasting cup of coffee.

This is a really great place! It’s a great place to meet friends, enjoy a cup of coffee alone, or study/work. It’s big and has a lot of seating options. You can sit outside near the entrance(there is even and outlet near one of the tables), inside at one of the tables or the island, or the covered patio in the back. It’s spacious and comfortable. It’s just a great place to chill. They have a great variety of interesting food options and drinks. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of free street parking. I’ll definitely visit again.
