Bring yourself back to the 80’s diner only thing missing is the cigarette machine and the smoking inside. Good breakfast

I am leaving a five star review for the fact that this place has finally been put out of its misery. I hope someplace worthwhile moves into the neighborhood.

Slow service and bland food. Won’t be going back. I’d give a half star if it were an option. The freshly made iced tea was way too strong, and the bragged upon turkey sandwich was a joke. Some turkey and lettuce don’t deserve to be called the best turkey sandwich ever. The cranberry didn’t make it out with my order. When I asked for it I received a tiny serving of what appeared to be canned cranberry sauce. Husband had the chili burger. It was bland and watered down. First and last visit to this place. We’ll be sticking with the Breakfast Club.

Sticker shock and mediocre food. I called in an order of biscuits and gravy and a side of bacon. When i picker up my food the bill was $ 17!!! WHAT?!? Even the lady at the register said i could have bought a pack of bacon for the $ 6 they charged me for 4 greasy floppy pieces. So that makes biscuits and gravy $ 11??? mind you that is one of the cheapest breakfast foods to make. AND it wasnt even a whole order. it was 1 bland biscuit cut in half with skimpy amounts of gravy and a side of average hashbrowns. I had a mind not to take the food at all, but i was hungry and needed to get back home to work. I WILLNEVER buy anything from this place again DONTWASTEYOURMONEY!

We came here right before 9am, and were able to get the 4.99 breakfast specials they offer. I had the eggs, cottage cheese and bacon with coffee and found it to be filling and satisfying. The décor in this place is a total time warp… kind of a cool thing for a little diner like this.

We used to be regulars to this Claires so it pains me to write this. After this weekend — we aren’t coming back(no more, no more!). We were there at 1PM on a Sunday and seated promptly — then left to our own devices for over 25 minutes! Our waitress just disappeared… We had a group of 6 and everything we tried to order seemed like the were out of. They were out of beans!(The server says the never have any beans — yet it is on their menu?) They had no hot dogs? They had only one pie left? The soda never arrived, one person’s gravy arrived cold and congealed(ewww). My husband and I ordered coffee and green«side» salads. Can’t screw up salads too much however — Blue Cheese is supposed to be thick and chunky — our Blue Cheese dressing was a watery mess that dripped everywhere! And then came the $ 14 bill -$ 2 for the coffee and $ 6 each for a «side“sized salad? Are you kidding me? The restaurant was NOT clean — on the way in(and out) we noticed that entire area’s carpet was sticky and the tables were sticky. In the end it was the death knell for choosing Claires in Lake City as a place to grab a bite on Sundays.

Horrible experience. Went there the first time yesterday with my boyfriend, I ordered a Turkey Pot Pie and he ordered the ultimate omelette. When the food arrived, I was shocked. The turkey pot pie wasn’t how it was described on the menu. The crust wasn’t flakey, more like there wasn’t even a crust. It was a bowl of turkey soup, the taste was bland, the so-called«crust» was hard and thick. The soup wasn’t even hot. As for my boyfriend’s dish, the ultimate omelette, the only delicious part was the sausage bits, which probably was store brought. I don’t understand how they can mess up omelette, And why would you add hashbrowns into the omelette? Potatoes are only good if they are made into french fries, mashed, and/or baked, otherwise, it makes food dull unless the dish has a lot of flavor to begin with. I lied, other than the sausage bits, the only other thing that tasted ok was the toast. I’m glad they didn’t burn that. Our server was nice, but seriously, she looked like she’s been in this industry for quite a long time, she should be able to tell when the customers are unhappy with their food. Failed. I will never go back again even if someone were to pay for my bill!

If you’re looking for good food, stiff drinks & service with a wink & a smile in a funky retro diner atmosphere & hands down the best karaōke in Seattle every other Friday, Claire’s Pantry is the place to be. The song selection is immense, the sound is awesome & the VERY supportive & enthusiastic crowd will high five you, cheer you on & dance as you rock the mic. Whether you’re a shy first timer or a veteran performer, you will feel comfortable when its your turn to sing. You’ll hear & see everything from sexy 20 something’s bumping & grinding singing top 40 pop tracks to the forever young belting out the oldies in style with the very friendly KJ Phil keeping the crowd’s energy going all night, one things for sure everybody gets the rockstar treatment at Claire’s!

I took my daughter to Claire’s the other day for a late breakfast/early lunch and was pretty disappointed with the food and the service. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs, scrambled with cheese, toast and hash-browns. My daughter ate off the kiddy menu and was happy. The chicken fried steak could have been made by running over a squirrel with a dump truck spilling dirt, a little rain then followed by a couple of warm days drying on the pavement. I’m not kidding!!! It was awful. The hash-browns were absolutely flavorless. The toast was as warm as my ex-wife. From now on when ordering scrambled eggs with cheese I vow to forever request cheddar or I might end up getting some squares of a flavorless orange goo like the stuff I got on my eggs. The service could have been better performed by some vintage robots from the Bionic Man episodes. In summary, I do like squirrels and I do not condone running over them, however the food could have easily been replaced by the above analogy and I wouldn’t have known the difference. I won’t be going back for seconds.

I have eaten at Clair’s Pantry about four times for breakfast on the weekends. The food is reasonably priced and you

In days of yore, this diner was actually very decent with friendly waiters and reasonable prices. Sadly, these days are no more, my friends. While they have always catered to the geriatric crowd, it seems that they now assume the elder folk have their taste buds all together, which may in fact be mostly true. But mine are still alive, kicking, and unimpressed. On to the price hike: How do they get away with charging so much for below average diner food? And WTF? My waiter said that if she caught me sharing my food that she would have to charge me more for the meal! I thought she was surely joking at first, but apparently it is their new policy. If you want to split a meal with someone you have to tack on an extra few bucks to your already overpriced food. Come on now… does it cost you guys $ 3 to wash one extra plate? This can’t be serious. Boo!

If you ever want to live like a 70 year old retired couple stop in Claire’s Pantry. You’ll fit right in with all the other old folks here. It’s sorta like visiting your weird grandmother that lives out of town who you only see once a year. Food is okay, but over priced for what you get. The décor doesn’t look like it’s been updated since the Carter administration.

Meet family here at 10am on a Sunday, and they were already out of chicken fried steak! What’s that about? But the steak and eggs, with hashbrowns and sourdough toast was very tasty and edible, I still wanted a damn chicken fried steak. The child inhaled her Reuben, and so having that available so early on a Sunday was bonus! Martin and Ian each had the Monte Cristo and ate them with forks and knives. Don’t ask. The important thing is, they were very tasty and the guys enjoyed them a lot. Noriko really savored her A1 burger and the fries looked crisp and fresh. Service was good, mellow, a tad shy but got the order right and had a smile.

We came here for a late lunch, and weren’t disappointed! The Monte Cristo I ate was wonderful! My boyfriend had a bleu cheese burger that he devoured, and my son had kid’s sketti with a strawberry Sundae for dessert. We’ve been going to Claire’s for as long as I can remember, and it’s pretty consistent. I find comfort in the fact that lots of older folks dine here. Most of them have been coming to the eatery for many years, and it is great that they haven’t stopped. One can’t expect The Canlis in a little hole in the wall in Lake City. I’ve always had decent service here, and the homemade soups and salad dressings are inspired.

I’ve been here about 6 times, with good and bad experiences depending on the waitress. This place seems to cater to an elderly crowd, so bringing my tattooed roommate likely affected the level of service we received. The food & prices are great.

Horrible. We were sat down and given water glasses that were half full. I got a steak that looked like a turd, that I could not even cut though. It took 45mins to get our food, and for 15mins of that time we saw it sitting under a heat lamp before it was served. At least they comped my turd steak. Go over to the Rimrock for MUCH higher quality AND quantity breakfast and LESSEXPENSIVE. The only reason why I went to Clairs was because Rimrock was not serving till 11am. I really don’t understand why so many old people go here, perhaps it is the senior discount? That is all that makes sense. Because this place is AWFUL.
