I’m not a harsh critic, but I do have high standards when it comes to quality in food. Everyone starts at three then gains or loses stars based on three things: Taste, pricepoint, and style/pop-factor. Three stars because to me the taste offered is average. TASTE: fresh, but that’s what it should be – in my book, sushi is synonymous to the word«fresh». One star could have been gained here. PRICEPOINT: The chef’s choice lunch special is a decent price 9.99, for 5 nigiri and 8 piece spicy tuna roll. The rest of the menu is also decent; not overpriced for what you get. No stars lost or gained. STYLE: this is where one star could have been gained – it’s just textbook sushi preparation – done well, but no extra effort. I’m looking for something that leaves me wanting more. This place is convenient because it’s walking distance from my work, but nothing I would go out of my way to revisit.

A great sushi place for work parties and big groups. Sushi is wonderful, and the space is huge, booths are large and comfortable, and the parking situation is great, becase it is slightly out of the main areas, making it ideal for a party location. I get take out from here, and come with small groups as well. One of the lesser known, good sushi places in town.

Everything was just OK. The service was good, but the food wasn’t very good. I had a veggie roll, the edamame and chicken teriyaki. Unfortunately nothing met my expectations, the teriyaki sauce was kinda gross and had a gelatin like consistency. I wasn’t even a fan of their edamame, which was a little slimey and definitely previously frozen. I totally prefer Sushi Bay down the street.

Normal prices are super expensive, but lunch specials and Happy Hour prices aren’t terrible. After eating the food, it was bland and generic. I will never go here ever again even if forced to.

Went here for happy hour one time with a friend. The restaurant is very open and nicely decorated with soothing music in the background. There is lots of seating, especially the HUGE booths that they have. As for the sushi… it was good but pricey. I can understand paying for better quality of fish, which is definitely what you’re given, but the rolls itself were very small. The smallest I’ve ever had. But overall the happy hour was nice. Rolls starting at $ 2.99 and drink specials as well. Not sure if I would go back on a regular basis, however.

Since I work right down the block, I decide to venture out and check out Cherry Blossom. At first, I wasn’t even sure they did take out but the staff was so friendly, it wouldn’t have mattered. The place is very nicely decorated with just HUGE booths. I just grabbed a simply chicken teriyaki though I saw some others with bento boxes and yakisoba. Everything smelled and looked great. When I got my food, it was heavier than I expected. Upon opening the bag, the smell of the miso soup made me hungrier! Delicious is all I can say about the soup. Then the entrée of the chicken served with rice and salad was perfect. Tender, juicy, well seasoned and flavorful! For just over $ 7 it was a perfect lunch. I will be back there to try other dishes!

Actually — it’s on the corner of Dexter and Aloha. Parking garage is available if you go half a block north of the restaurant on Dexter. Good bento boxes. Sushi rolls are dinky… yet tasty. Nice booths. Great place for lunch. Service is a little slow/random. Korean owned — they got bibimbap on the menu(have to try it still).

This will soon be my new hood, and nice to enjoy a good dinner at a place about block away. We did teriyaki, and it was quite good and served super quick. Usually when that happens the quality is mehhh, but this all seemed pretty fresh and tasty. Potstickers appetizer was pretty good too. Just a little crunchy and glazed lightly maybe in some kind of sugar? Prices seemed fair and they look to have a good happy hour. There is ample parking on street

A friend of mine worked there… don’t go here and support this guy… loves to rip off employees. They are hiring so if you are super duper desperate go for it… but again, if you’ve worked in the restaurant business you don’t want to support these kinds of owners.

Having just moved to the area, my boyfriend and I have been looking for places to eat. From the look of it it seemed quite nice looking, the ambiance with the somewhat dimmed lights, music, and seating make you feel at ease. The food overall was good EXCEPT like another Unilocaler who reviewed this place, I feel one of our items which said to have CRAB in it really had KRAB. I’m not 100% certain, but I was pretty griped about it. Overall though, if I just don’t get any items that say CRAB I think this place is wonderful and will probably be frequenting again.

I’ve wandered in here a a time or two as I live nearby. It’s almost always empty and the food is okay. The prices are a bit high and the portions not overly generous. No view as it’s off Dexter although you can see the Needle if you’re near the window.

I stereotype any restaurant that is almost always completely empty but manages to stay in business indefinitely as the front for some sort of organized mafioso syndicate or a place to buy drugs. I’m not sure whether Cherry Blossom is either of those(would be odd, given the prepubescent waitstaff who I believe are the children of the owners) or whether I’ll be alive tomorrow after saying this, but as for the food — it was A-OK on my first visit. I ordered the Cherry Blossom Special Bento with Chicken Teriyaki and Spicy Teriyaki. This dish, for $ 8.99, is served with miso soup, rice, and salad. I switched out brown rice for an extra buck. MISOSOUP: A little salty, but good enough. Served piping hot, a little on the salty side, and lacking any appreciable quantity of the accoutrement(tofu, seaweed, etc.). It was good, nothing to write my friends in Japan about. SALAD: More like some ice berg lettuce that had been chopped. There was no dressing, just dry lettuce. CHICKEN: Both were good, tasted fresh, and had a nice sauce that wasn’t overwhelmingly heavy like they can be in some cases. Overall, I agree with the other reviewers that this will now become a good«emergency stop» when I’m too damn lazy to worry about making food or putting anything in my fridge. I’ll go back to try the sushi.

I live in the building attached to this restaurant. I eat here when it’s an emergency. The food isn’t bad at all, I continue to come back and eat here a couple times a month. When I say emergency, I’m talking about being too lazy to go anywhere else, and I have no food in the apartment. I wouldn’t ever come here as a destination spot. The staff is friendly and the food is decent. My biggest complaint is that they seem to be interested in serving the business across the street(which recently moved out) than the residents in the building attached. It’s really a shame to see this place so empty after 5pm, when all they have to do is have a decent happy hour. Additionally, they always close so early. There are so many restaurants/bars in SLU that are packed all night(see paddy coynes) and cherry blossom could be one of those… After a night of drinking, it would be nice to stop in here for a quick drink before last call, but currently, that’s not an option.

FAIL: Cherry blossom committed my cardinal sin of advertising CRAB on their menu, but serving KRAB. Thankfully, I asked about this before ordering(I learned my lesson the hard way after dining at Oakland’s Koryo Sushi, which also claims to serve CRAB: ). Very disappointing, especially in a city so strong in the seafood department. EPICFAIL: Spider Roll was advertised as containing asparagus, avocado, cucumber, and soft-shelled crab. Unfortunately, when it arrived, the chef had taken liberties with the contents to compensate for the lack of availability of asparagus. It was extra unfortunate that the ingredient the chef chose to use to fill out the roll was their KRAB mix. When I asked about the discrepancy in our order, our server seemed confused that this might be a problem. I found this extra amusing, since she knew the whole reason we hadn’t ordered California Rolls was due to the CRAB/KRAB bait-and-switch issue. The chef kindly offered to make us something different, but by the time we were able to get someone’s attention to ask about our order, we were done with our other dishes and ready to leave. Thankfully, the spider roll was removed from our bill without issue(although we did have to ask for the adjustment after the bill was brought). FAIL: Miso soup portions were ridiculous, which was upsetting, as it’s one of the belly-warmingest parts of going out for sushi, and can set the tone for the rest of the meal. We initially thought she was bringing cups of tea, only to have 2 swallows of soup placed before us. It *was* good soup though, for whatever that’s worth. WIN: Mr. Cara says the raw fish was good, and I admit it did look good. Unfortunately, my «delicate state» prevents me from indulging in delicious maguro, sake, and hamachi right now. So I left hungry and unhappy. Sorry Cherry Blossom, but this meal averaged out to one big disappointment after another.

As expected from the other Unilocal reviews, this place was empty as far as patrons went. It was Monday night at 7p. My dining companion and I were the only eaters. It was a great atmosphere, and felt very clean. Finding the bathroom was like going through a maze, but very clean as well. The booths are huge! Since it was only the 2 of us, I felt a little silly sitting in such a huge booth. But it was a nice change to being squeezed into other dining areas. You could probably fit 6 in those booths VERY comfortably. Our dinner was: Appetizers: *Gyoza *Seaweed Salad *Vegetable Tempura Entrees: *Spicy Salmon Roll *Bento Box(we chose Spicy Tuna Roll & Spicy Chicken Teriyaki) Total cost of dinner was $ 40. The only thing I went in knowing we had to try were the Gyoza. Deep fried pot stickers? How could we go wrong? I’ve never had seaweed salad before, and it was delicious! The vegetable tempura was really good, included was an onion ring, asparagus, broccoli, potato, squash, and a green bean. The spicy tuna & spicy salmon rolls were really good, but not overly spicy. The spicy teriyaki chicken was pretty spicy, our pores opened wide and our noses started running. As mentioned by others, the bento box is a pretty good deal, the spicy tuna cost $ 2 extra, totaling $ 10.99. I LOVED everything I tried, I will come back. And I will tell everyone I know about this place.

A great sushi place that’s not yet discovered by the masses. I enjoy drinking a large Sapporo in a large frosted glass. The beer is ice cold and the sushi and bento box is really good. The prices are actually reasonable for Seattle. This is a nice quiet place where you can hang out and have a great meal and conversation without the boom boom music in the background and noise of other customers.

This place was been almost empty whenever I have visited, which is surprising because the sushi is very well made, high quality, and at a competitive price. The Sushi: * The Spicy Scallop Rolls have a nice spicy bite to them, highly recommended. * The Spider Rolls aren’t the largest I’ve had, but the quality is very good. * The Yellow Tail Nigiri is fantastic — and like all their Nigiri — the cut is very large. * The Salmon Skin Rolls and Everett Rolls are worth trying out. * The Sushi Combo plates are the way to go, and the presentation is very nice. * The price is very reasonable. On my visits the bill averaged to $ 20 per person. The Environment: * It’s very clean, simple, and nicely laid out. * Large groups can fit in the spacious booths, and there are a few chairs next to the bar for the sake bombers. The Service: * The waitress service has been very attentive, but on my visits the restaurant wasn’t even 1⁄3 full, so not really stress tested. * The Sushi Chef is a very cool guy. I’ve talked with him for a bit and I can tell he really cares about presenting a quality sushi dinner. Overall I have been very impressed, and I will continue to check out what Cherry Blossom offers. BTW: The house sake is a great touch to everything.

I passed this place a couple months ago and looked to my fellow Unilocalers for the scoop. Cherry Blossom had received pretty good reviews. I finally had the opportunity to check this place out with a friend who was in Seattle from out of town last weekend! My first impression was that it was nicely decorated, quality furniture, huge bar and the waitress seated us immediately. They really made sure to take care of all the details when setting the place up. It was a very pleasant place to sit and chat with my friend. The menu was large for a sushi place and you get quality food for a really decent price. I’m all about stretching my money out without having to sacrifice the ambiance or quality. We ordered the gyozas for our appetizer, a couple rolls and bento boxes. Everything was tasty! I definitely recommend Cherry Blossom. I’m glad Queen Anne has a new place to head to for a great deal on some delicious treats!

There are always advantages to going to a quiet restaurant with very few people. In my experience you tend to get better service, you get your food faster, and the food tends to be cooked with a little bit more attention to detail. That being said, I’m slightly concerned that Cherry Blossom was dead quiet on a Saturday night. It’s hard times for many, but it would be quite a shame for this place to go out of business. My first impression was a good impression. The space is clean, fresh, sleek and clean. I use clean twice because it’s uncluttered and also clean. It’s a very soothing atmosphere. We were seated promptly and browsed the substantial menu. My dinner partner had been here before and knew we wanted Gyoza, but beyond that we had no idea what to get. We decided on a Crunch Roll Combo(which had the Crunch Roll, California Roll and Tuna Roll) and we ordered a Spicy Scallop Roll as well which they were kind enough to make not-so-spicy(dinner buddy not keen on spiciness). My dinner buddy was happiest with the Scallop Roll and I have to say I was most pleased with the Crunch Roll although both were winners. We also ordered a Bento Box of Salmon Katsu and Gyoza. For $ 12 or $ 14 the Bento Box was an awesome deal. The portions were generous, the salmon was expertly prepared and the the Gyoza was cooked to a perfect blend of crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. While neither of us were still hungry we decided to order another roll. We decided on the Dragon Roll which automatically became my favorite item of the night. I think there’s something about Eel that I really like. The combination of Avocado, Eel, crab, sauce and crunch was perfect. If you order only two items I would recommend one of them definitely be this roll. The service all night was pleasant and the prices were quite reasonable. If you find yourself in the area by all means you should drop by. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

For a nice sit-down lunch, I and my coworkers head here. On cold, wintery Seattle days, their warm green tea, warm sake(yeah, that’s right), miso soup and bento boxes hit the spot. About $ 12 for a bento box w/soup, rice, salad and two large-portioned items. Mmmmm. Haven’t tried the sushi or their HH but want to soon. Now, back to my sake…
