Not a great food experience. Nothing seemed fresh and we ordered salmon that was really fishy. Place was empty on a Friday night. Should have been a sign.

Super quaint little café, more of a coffee and patisserie shop if anything, but they also had an array of yummy small plate breakfast items. Seemed a little pricy for what they offered, but still very good. Eggs were cooked and avocado were both super yummy and well seasoned. Will be back :)

Rotating menu but everything is fresh and pretty good sized. I had smashed avocado toast with a side soft boiled egg. Seasoning on both were perfect and the right sized light lunch. Service was friendly and my dirty chai was exactly what I needed that day!

I’m so glad place is good. My cappuccino was really good. Has nice foam top. I end up getting the porridge I’m happy it’s soupy I hate water porridge or oat meal. It’s very creamy. I love how well lite in the café with all windows. People friendly.

Cool space with marble counter tops with a boat hull shaped sit down bar. Very 60’s chic with wood clad tables and a helpful staff that pointed us in the direction to two badass vintage shops. Your neighborhood café if you live close by and serve well crafted cappuccino and veggie sandwiches. I would recommend this to my own mother and that’s saying a lot cause my mother is one picky food snob.

This little café is in the retail space of some apartments above. It’s not too big. More of a coffee shop setting that serves some food. We got a london fog(it was ok), soft boiled egg toast(not bad, two slices of bread, got a little too salty though), poached egg with prosciutto and cheese w/bread(hmm it was ok? not terribly special, also gets pretty salty), and their roasted red pepper soup(which was too spicy for my low tolerance so my boyfriend had most of it). With a glass of milk to add, the total was about $ 27ish? I didn’t try their coffee, so I’d be down to pick some up, but their breakfast doesn’t quite wow me to make an effort to return. It’s not bad, just not crazy amazing.

I’ve been to Café Barjot twice, once for lunch and another time for dinner. Both times have been pretty on point. For lunch I had a fish sandwich and for dinner my friends and I ordered and shared every dish from their dinner menu. If I was able to cook vegetables like the chef did, I would be eating them a whole lot more! I’ve never gone out for fine dining before, but the dinner was probably the closest thing I’ve had to it. Everything about the dishes were good including the plating(so beautiful!). I thought the chef did a fantastic job balancing all the flavors in each dish. The café has beautiful natural light during the day and subtle dim lighting at night. I highly recommend this café for dinner for anyone who wants to have a full on experience. I will definitely come back whenever they serve dinner again.

mAN… This place is like an art gallery for food lovers. I sat outside by myself with a book and felt like i was transported to Paris, really. I couldn’t help but order 5 things and every dish was equally as beautiful. The Chef, Nick Coffey, brought out all of my dishes and made me feel very welcome. You’re extremely talented, chef! The matsutakes with madrona cream and honey vinegar was my favorite dish by far, so simple yet so developed and special!!! I love this place…

Café Barjot is a great place for brunch. They have stumptown’s cold brew on nitro tap — that not many places currently stock. it’s delicious — tastes like a stout beer but good to know that there’s no alcohol content and is purely cold brewed coffee at its best. Came here a few months ago and sat on the patio. Our large group of 5 plus a dog, the staff was amicable and accommodating to our larger group. Ordered at the bar, and got our food. Everyone seemed to like their food. Their popular combinations of avocado and poached eggs over toast were a big hit. And their ambiance for casual conversation was the right spot we needed to enjoy our brunch. Overall this is a great spot for brunch. I heard the space doubles as a bar at night for cocktails and aperitifs. Will have to come back and try that out as well.

I found this little spot thanks to the recommended reviews from other Unilocalers. You would think the coffee spot is located on a Main Street like a typical Starbucks. The parking is either free or restricted, so you have to drive around a bit to find a good street parking spot. Rest assured… This area consists of free parking though. Anyway, take a walk down the residential area even if you have to park a couple blocks away. It’s Capitol Hill, so you’ll probably enjoy it. I liked the morning walk that I got with my friend and her Husky. Surprise surprise surprise… You finally arrive at your coffee joint destination… after you pass an apartment complex. I liked the quiet scenery with the location kinda hidden from the crazy Main Street. You walk into the café, and there’s a short yet delicious food/coffee menu waiting for you at the counter. My friend had Veggie and Cheese sandwich. I had green tea, cucumber with chili flakes came with cream cheese and crunchy bread, and BLT sandwich(to-go for the fiancé). Everything was in good portion, and it was tasty. We sat outside, talked for a bit, and enjoyed the quiet street on the front patio. Unique little coffee joint… Definitely will come back again. :)

This is a cute neighborhood café that I always look for when traveling to Europe. Except this is located in Capitol Hill in Seattle. Parking is beyond horrible but if I lived around the area, I would love to visit this place more frequently. We came in here for dinner and I should come by during the day to check out the coffee. The dinner offering started pretty recently so definitely come check it out. I thought it was really charming that the menu is handwritten. The weather was freakishly hot so sitting inside would have been very difficult but luckily they have plenty of outdoor seating and I had reserved ahead of time. The food was very refreshing and tasty. I can’t wait to come back again. Though next time, I would definitely look for alternative transportation.

My friend and I came here on a Saturday for dinner and I don’t know if we missed the memo or what… it was ok. Half the menu is just bread and spreads that go with the bread. We got bread and butter, the mussels in a green broth with vegetables, the dinah cheese with honey and some Moscow Mules(they’re called something else here though). We thought everything was ok… the menu wasn’t particularly inspiring and the dishes are simple but not too inspired. The best dish was the cheese and honey but it’s all a little too simple for my taste.

Everyone has already said it’s cute 1000 times. This is true. It’s a warm café with large windows and décor from another era. I love that when you walk in, there’s a large bowl of avocados, which is just oddly comforting. I love avocados. Came here with a friend on a late weeknight, so we just split a charcuterie plate. The plate came with a spread of mortadela, house-made prosciutto, local salami, cornichons, house-made mustard, pickled peppers, and crackers. The prosciutto was incredible. All the meats were really nice, meltingly soft and flavorful. The prosciutto was the best though! Finished with a caramel date cake. It was caramelly and date-y. Altogether a nice bite for a pleasant night. This location is IMPOSSIBLE to find parking for. If I come back, I’d probably be on foot, bike, or bus. We spent 20 min driving around on a weekday night because the area is residential and no cars left.

Café and coffee-house culture generally splits itself along two main lines. One is the coffee-focused joint with quality coffee drinks and a token pastry case, to satisfy the customer’s desperate need for something to soak up the caffeine. Then there are full on cafés, focused more on food than the casual, stay as long as you like coffee-house vibe. Café Barjot finds a happy medium right between the two. The food here is much more extensive than your average coffeehouse, but it’s set within a casual, neighborhood hangout vibe. The coffee is good too. Add in some wifi and, in my humble opinion, you have a real winner. The plates here are carefully crafted and filled with both fresh vegetable ingredients and tasty, high quality meats(if you want meats). They were able and willing to make some small omissions to satisfy my low-carb desires, and my smoked salmon on veggies was simply delicious. The iced coffees we enjoyed on an unseasonably warm May day(72 degrees!) hit the spot. And the staff is as friendly as can be. Add in the residential setting, the adorable environs, outdoor seating, tons of natural light, and a cocktail menu? I’m completely sold.

It was impossible to find parking here so I envy people who can walk to get here. The charcuterie plate was such a bargain. My friend and I munched on the different meat and bread and was quite satisfied. We also ordered the olive oil cake since it was THE dessert(i.e. the only one on the menu). It was soft and enjoyable. The thing I like the most about this place is the atmosphere. It just felt very chill and nonchalant. The service was really awesome and friendly. I would love to come here again for a full meal.

A little hidden café all the way up in north capitol hill. Honestly there’s nothing I can say bad about this place. I order a 12 oz latte and the poached eggs with mushrooms. They get their coffee from a small place in Ballard called True North Roasters. This is honestly one of the better coffees I’ve had in a while. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly, it was still runny so when you poked into it will burst. The mushrooms were sauteed well. The dish was simple but executed to perfection. I can’t wait till the next time I come back to this place.

The rumors are true. It’s good. So good. I’m giving it 5 stars and I imagine some contrarian is now going to post, «I don’t understand what the fuss is all about!» then it’ll lower the rankings enough to clear a table for my next visit. Let’s do this, Unilocal.Don’t disappoint me. My boyfriend and I wanted dessert after a homemade dinner on the Hill. This one is a short walk from his place so we decided to come here for beyond our usual coffee orders for which we have been here a handful of times in the past. It was such a lovely experience! We had the date bread pudding with a caramel sauce. He ordered a decaf cappuccino and I ordered a cocktail. It was all amazing. My boyfriend doesn’t even liked dates and I’m typically dissatisfied with bread pudding but both of us almost stabbed each other with our forks over the shared dessert. Service was so friendly and neighborly. I’ve also been back for breakfast since and also had a great experience. It might be important to know that you order at the counter and sit down — there’s no official table service but they will walk over your non-coffee drink order to you.

Why did it take me so long to come in here for awesome food and drinks? Barjot is absolutely precious, it’s close to my house, and the tea and lunch I had today was exactly as lovely as I had predicted it would be. There’s free WIFI, they’re open long hours(most days) and this is the perfect café for a lunch meeting, a place to get some work done, or a place to hang out with friends. I ended up here for about 2 hours and enjoyed a pot of tea and lunch in the form of amazingly delicious avocado on toast. Simple, healthy, and packing a punch of flavor. Somehow this simple concoction was made better with sea salt, paprika(I think?) and a little red pepper. It was so good I could eat it here daily! Friendly service, lots of other menu items, and all served in a cute, clean café. Good for people hanging out alone or groups of 4 – 6. Not ideal for a huge party of people but maybe good for outdoor seating since the tables can be moved around a bit. Lovely spot!

What a great spot for a place to have a working brunch! It’s a small, cozy, counter-service café on Bellevue Ave in Capitol Hill that serves espresso, cocktails, and brunch! I ordered the Spinach Gruyère Baked Eggs($ 7.50) and it was ooey, gooey, cheesy, and eggy! I sopped up all of the delicious juices with the small heel of a demi baguette. I would ask that they serve this meal with a little bit more bread. Paired with a vanilla soy latte, I worked on my laptop while eating brunch. Like it’s wonderful sister café, Joe Bar, Barjot is such a small entity that seating may be a concern.
