I have had the undecided combo twice and it is consistently good. Very filling so I could save half for the next day, but no, i ate all of it and then struggled without a nap to finish the workday. Next time will I be smarter and use portion control? Probably not !

This truck was parked behind babies rus in Bellevue. I walked over without knowing which truck was going to be there but I am always excited to find authentic Indonesian so I decided to give it a try. Having an undecided combo is great for foodies. I debated whether to try the Nasi Tim Ayam, twice steamed chicken mushroom rice, but I could not pass up on the chance to try their classic. The couple running the place were very friendly. They had run out of fried rice when I ordered so I waited about five minutes while they made a fresh batch.

The convenience of a food truck is great when you don’t pack a lunch. I tried the sayuri special, and was pleasantly surprised to find an egg, chicken leg, and veggies swimming in a flavorful clear broth with rice crisps on top. It was a little more expensive than other items on the menu, but pretty much the only gluten free option. I wish I could comment on more of their selection!

I really wanted to like this place but it fell short of my expectations. I wanted to try the chicken curry but was told it would take a long time to cook, and I was on my lunch break at work, so I didn’t have much time to waste. The lady suggested one of the specials, so I agreed. It wasn’t that great. The chicken was cold. I hate cold food. The flavors were just ok. Probably will not try this food truck again.

They’ve consistently improved on every visit to the point where it’s my weekly Friday food destination. This week the Satay was spectacular!

Very good food at a good price for a Seattle area food truck. Had the curry chicken fried rice — excellent! Side salad was a pleasant surprise. Rating takes into account that this is a food truck and not a brick-and-mortar restaurant.

I came here twice! First time, I ordered Chicken Curry Ramen but I wasn’t impressed. But, I wasn’t going to give up. I happened to have a chance to come back again today and they had chicken nasi goreng(only 3 left when I was there in line ordering). It was so yummy! The special Indonesian sauce they put on the side was very delicious. I loved how they marinated and grilled the chicken thigh. It was so tender and flavorful. The cold sole on the side was in peanut sauce dressing. I was happy I was able to get one of the left 3 chichen nsai goreng. I’d like to try their«undecided» on the menu next time. I think it’s chef’s choice. But, I think undecided is cool.

2.5 stars, but had to round up to 3. Pros: Food has pretty good authentic Indonesian style taste. Bonus: they accept American Express! Cons: I felt the picture menu was a dishonest and misleading. I ordered the #1 Combo for $ 9, and the picture of the combo had a fried egg in it. I personally love fried eggs, and was disappointed when my meal did not come with an egg. The cashier later told me it is an additional add-on cost. I searched throughout the menu to see if it was stated that the egg was not included, but could not find this fine print anywhere. Its almost like if I purchased a bicycle and it didn’t come with wheels. As such, the good food left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. To the owner of the truck: Retake your picture menu so none of the items have the fried egg on top, or explicit say the dish does not come with an egg, and it costs extra because at the moment the menu is misleading.

Very tasty. I had the chicken curry and rice, and the chicken was extremely tender, both in the curry and the satay side. The peanut sauce had lots of fresh diced cucumber that really punched things up. The wait seemed typical for freshly cooked food – well worth it.

SLOW service when busy. Be prepared to wait 30+ minutes for food. Speedy when business is lite. Phenomenal food, friendly staff. Really great peanut sauce.

Yummmmmm. I decided to get the«undecided combo» since I didn’t know what to get, and the combo has a little bit of everything. Everything was delicious, even the salad dressing! I especially loved the noodles. So yummy and flavorful. I dragged my coworker here to grab some lunch, and he was pretty impressed. I’d definitely come back, at least whenever they happen to be on the eastside. However, I did notice that they ran out of their items fairly quickly, even though it was in the middle of the lunch hour. Maybe they’re just that popular.

Bumbu makes super tasty food! I came here for lunch tempted by the promise of Indonesian curry over rice and was really happy with what I got. A generous portion(appx half a square takeout container) of fried rice topped with savory and spiced curry. With a side salad topped with peanut dressing, chicken satay stick & cucumber relish, it was altogether satisfying. I especially liked the satay and the curry. The curry to rice ratio was a little off — I was wishing for more curry to go with the last quarter of the remaining rice. At $ 8 I’d say it’s a decent value for a food truck. The curry ramen with egg looked a little skimpy in comparison($ 7.5). The biggest drawback was the wait time. It took about 25 minutes for the food to be ready. Granted there were ~10 orders in front of me but given that they have only so many things on their menu, I’d imagine they’d be able to streamline something.

This is for the South Lake Union location. The line time was 25 minutes. I get to the front of the line and all the chicken curry ramen was gone. There wasn’t a notification or something written that it was gone. I get the chicken curry over fried rice, but the chicken satay was sold out. They offered $ 1 off or a lumpia, which ended up at $ 7. I asked for an egg and they added the $ 1 back to total at $ 8. Oh wells. The chicken curry ramen was $ 7, which includes and egg /no satay. Not sure what the price justification for my order was since I just replaced noodles with fried rice. The food wait time was 32 minutes. I got my food, and I’ll admit the food was very tasty but it didn’t seem like it would take that long to deliver. Two pre-made salads, fried rice with curry and a fried egg on top. I assume they are making each fried rice to order since that has to be the explanation. I wouldn’t go back again. The lines are similar to other trucks but they don’t have their operations together to churn out product in a timely manner. The food was good, but not worth the ~1 hour wait. There’s better food trucks in SLU to choose from.

Authentic, delicious, fast, value for money and served with a smile. The menu offers so many choices that I plan to keep coming back. I got the chicken curry and a single satay. Note to self — get more satays next time.

Must suggest the undecided plate — a good sized portion that gives you a little bit of everything. The skewers were done surprisingly well(tendency is for them to be overcooked). The other item that stood out was the lumpia, which was reminiscent of a flat eggroll filled with curry beef.

Bumbu Truck was at the Mobile Food Rodeo in the International District. The owners are really nice and staff are top notch. I’ve been meaning to check out the truck for awhile and finally got my chance. The curry beef lumpia is pretty darn good. I like the size, tight wrap, and perfect golden brown fry. The beef is slightly spicy and very flavorful. It comes with a bit of chili sauce and I tend to spatter a bit of sriracha on top. Yum! For $ 5, it’s the right price for a great snack! I also tried nasi padang which is chicken dry curry. It came with white rice, collard green curry, and a hard boiled egg in red chili sauce. I specifically asked for a bit of spice in mine. I’m not very familiar with Indonesian food but I liked what I tasted. the chicken was tender and spiced well. I had never had collard greens with curry and it was a nice change of pace. The dish went well together. Opening up the red egg was fun. It was like opening a present and there was a perfectly yellow yolk inside. I enjoyed the meal and I’m sure I’ll be back soon.

Stopped to grab a quick bite as I unexpectedly could not make it home for lunch, I was blown away with how good their food is and how friendly the staff was. We got the stir-fry noodle and a side of fried rice, the owner gave my son a «meat lollipop» or satay as everyone else knows it. Everything was amazing and super tasty. They were up at University Presbyterian Church in the U-Dist.

This might be the closest thing Seattle has to real Indonesian food trucks(gerobak)! I’ve had their Nasi Gudeg and Nasi Padang. Holey crap! Indescribable perfection. Savor the flavor. Close your eyes and you can probably transport yourself to the streets of Jakarta. Warung Jajanan may have authentic Indonesian food, but they’ve all been boxes and packed and even frozen. On the contrary, Bumbu has everything freshly made by order and served to you hot. «Bumbu» means spices/seasoning in Indonesian, so remember that Indonesian cuisine is cooked and concocted with a variety of spices, seasonings, and TLC. Do NOT expect McDonald’s drive-thru speed service at this mom and pop shop. Many people in line with me turned quite restless and annoyed waiting for their food. Go play with your phone or something. Don’t try to rush the art of Indonesian cooking. Okay, maybe that’s a little too much, but you get me. Be forewarned that it will take between 5 – 15 minutes to have your order made(unless you’re ordering a simple snack).

It’s so great to find this new Indonesian food truck in the area. The menu changes depending on the days, I was excited and hungry I ordered the coconut rice, the Undecided(sampler combo), the lumpia, and the Satay with fried rice. They all turned out to be delicious and authentic. I will definitely be on the lookout for this food truck again. I want to try their Nasi Padang next time when it’s on the menu.

I visit these guys on Wednesday in Renton at 618 Park Ave N and as someone who visits all the food trucks that come to this parking lot and the one across the street I can say that this is my favorite! Friendly people and awesome flavors. The peanut sauce is not like any version I have ever had, tons of flavor. Also the ability to get a sunny side up egg on your rice and/or noodles is the bomb. My only complaint is that I have to stop eating this food and get back to work.
