Dr. Bloss is retiring after many years of dedicated practice. The baton has been passed to a promising young doctor. I will say that the last poster should have brought her youngster to a children’s dentist. Although very skilled and highly experienced, visits here in the past few years were probably not recommended for kids or the faint of heart. Nonetheless, I personally had nothing but complete confidence in Dr. Bloss, having gone through more than one difficult extraction with him. I have never had any doubts about his professionalism or ability. Did he carry on a bit too long past average retirement age? Perhaps. He did what he knew and loved and can’t be faulted for that. His rates were fair and he was an honest man. Old school in all respects. Best wishes to you and your family Dr. Bloss and thank you!

I took my daughter to Dr. Bloss’s office to have a cracked tooth extracted. She is 6 and this was her fist serious dentist visit, so she was pretty scared. It seems to me like it might be time for him to retire. He didn’t have a clue what procedure she was in for and couldn’t remember that he had seen her the previous week for x-rays. He was completely lacking any kind of finesse or compassion. We had agreed the week before that she would receive nitrous oxide to help with her extreme anxiety about the procedure, without speaking to me at all he went straight at her with a needle. I had to stop him and remind him that she needed the gas. They put a dirty nose mask on her and gave her about 1 minute of gas before he came right back in, sat down and went to town on her tooth. She was crying and frantic, choking on the blood and saliva because they didn’t even bother to use a suction tube, her nose was stuffy from crying, she couldn’t breathe. The assistant was no where to be found… I just couldn’t believe how unprofessional this was. So so sad that I hadn’t researched into his practice more before I subjected my daughter to this madness. She made it through though! I just wanted to post this because I would have appreciated a heads up. It was a terrible experience. I would recommend Ballard Dental Clinic, I didn’t take her there because they aren’t in our insurance group anymore =( But I’ve dealt with them in the past and they are excellent.

A few things to know: this dentist typically only accepts patients who live nearby his practice; he only provides metal crowns, not white fillings. His front office assistant is very courteous with excellent customer service skills. The dentist is very old fashioned. I’m rating this as two stars because I didn’t know that only metal crowns are provided until I was sitting in the seat having my teeth examined… three weeks after having made my appointment and having waited. I believe this important detail should be spoken upfront. Other people may feel differently, yet I don’t want metal in my mouth.
