Awa’s African Braids Express

I’m very satisfied with my Senegalese twists. Awa was kind enough to fit me in within a day’s notice! I got a call from Sara and quickly rushed over here. Great location. Sara is incredibly fast! I got here around 3 and I’ll be done by 6.15! It would have been an hour or so earlier had I come prepared as in hair prepped for braiding.
The hair feels light, looks very neat and falls nicely in place. They aren’t too small just medium sized about 0.25″ in diameter.
Fast good reliable service.

The experience I had at this salon was 5 star. Awa’s braids look fantastic and she is genuinely a nice person. It took her around 5 hours to do my Senegalese twists! I have a big head and thick hair! I’ve spent upwards of 8 hours getting braids before so I couldn’t believe that she braided my twists so quickly. She did a great job as well! I received nothing but praise and compliments when I went to work the next day. I would recommend getting an appointment a month in advance. She has lots of customers and seems very busy so if you try booking for a weekend two weeks in advance, you’ll likely not be seen.

This update is a few months late, but I just got back from my 3^rd appointment with Awa. I am able to keep the Invisible Crochet Braids in for 2 months, but around 1.5 months I take them out and get them redone because I don’t feel they are as full as I would like them. Shedding is common with Invisible braids while you are redoing your style, but I do not get daily shedding. I have experienced 4 inches in hair growth and I attribute that mainly to how gentle Awa is with my edges, she even puts a lateral braid in the back to get even the smallest hairs in a braid. This has kept the back from breaking, which I appreciate. I will update with pictures. I also wanted to add, when I leave the shop my hair is straight. I style my hair myself from various YouTube channels because I just prefer to do it myself, but there is hair that comes pre-​curled if you want to achieve my look walking out the salon. My appointment ranges from 1.5−2hrs each time. She’s FAST! Awa doesnt work Fridays, and her weekends book up quickly, so I would call a week before you’d like your hair done to secure the time and date you want!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience today at Awa’s. I made my appointment yesterday after deciding I wanted a protective style for the winter. I walked out less than two hours later with perfect crochet braids. The shop was clean and the conversation was great.

Awa did an excellent job with my braids. I had a hair emergency and basically walked in. She took my appointment at the last minute. She was able to select the right type of hair extensions and she made my braids the right size and the right color. I wish I could go back, but I don’t live in town. I have had so many compliments on my hair. I wish I was in Seattle so she could do my hair regularly.

It was my first and I am definitely going back to her again. I like the quality, and great customer service. She definitely works with your schedule. I am new for the city, I wasn’t sure if braid works for me either, but with Seattle’s weather, I am always going to keep my hair braided.

Absolutely loved my hair. She has skills, very professional, and more. Highly recommended!
