AMC Loews Oak Tree 6

Loved this theatre but it never seems to get the newest movies on the days that came out! But still a really nice place to enjoy a good movie!

Broken, uncomfortable chairs, very old interior… people doing drugs outside and having to be thrown out of the lobby… I will pass.

This is my new old favorite theater. Plenty of parking, super friendly staff. Clean, not crowded. Good prices.
Also if you’re going on the weekend there is an International House of Pancakes, which is lively and very reasonably priced. Breakfast before or lunch or dinner after the movies is a delight.

I’ve been to this AMC twice recently, once for a regular movie where it was a complete ghost town with 6 people total in the whole theatre, and then for a screening. This is an older, smaller theatre that I didn’t know existed until 2 weeks ago, and I’ve lived in Seattle for over 15 years. It’s not in my top 20 list of theatres I ever want to visit again, but it isn’t bad.
The pros are that the parking lot is huge. It’s shared with a grocery store and various small businesses, set far away from the street. The sound is good in the two different theatres I was in.
The neutral facts are that the prices are the same as the much nicer, newer movie theatres for the tickets as well as the concessions.
The cons are that this theatre was built at least 20 years ago and hasn’t had a facelift. The ladies restroom on the ground floor is one stall. The seats have the armrests that don’t move so you have a barrier between you and your significant other so you can’t get close to watch the movie. There’s a second level but no elevator. My seat, both times I was there, went wayyyyy back so I had to consciously sit forward so I didn’t fall backwards. They don’t have any self-​serve ticket machines, however, it’s probably because they don’t need them since the place was practically deserted when we went there the first time.
When I was there for the screening, the manager wasn’t the friendliest person. The lobby is small, and they don’t have room for a VIP line for screenings so everyone was standing out in the cold.
With all of the many nice movie theatres to choose from for the same cost, much better seating and in safer neighborhoods, I won’t be back here.

Used to come to this theatre all the time when I lived in the Greenlake neighborhood. Still looks the same… it’s getting pretty run down and dilapidated — I sat in a broken seat and so did my daughter… only came here cause it was in the neighborhood where we went to dinner… probably the last time I’ll come here unless they remodel!

Went to the Oak Tree and watched «Blended» with Adam Sandler. It was a great movie and really funny! They kissed at the end. I loved that movie so that means this theater is really good

Just watched a film here over the Memorial Day weekend and I was very pleasantly surprised !
The place from the outside looks like a back to the future episode the 1980’s but the total experience is excellent.
The tickets are moderately priced, it’s clean, it has a great concession area including the much maligned something like butter dispensers for your popcorn near the theater entrances. Clean theaters and restrooms without the funky «what is that smell» experience you get in many theaters.
The screens about half to three quarters the size of most modern theaters but then with a smaller theater the noise level from the crowd is cut down. Also the seats are a bit smaller which is OK as they are still very comfortable.
Lots of parking and perfect for a low stress experience. If you are taking a group particularly with kids, this place will save you a lot of money.
The crowning experience was finding my favorite mid-1990’s video game in the lobby ! AREA 51 ! YES YES !!!

They have changed literally nothing at Oak Tree Cinemas over the past twenty years. I loved it back then, and I still do today. I’m pleasantly surprised that they have not gone out of business, what with competing with the bigger, mega-​plex-​like theaters.
Comfortable-​ish seating and never super crowded so you’re not fighting with anyone to get a bucket of popcorn before your movie begins. Staff are friendly, plenty of parking, bathrooms are clean. Oak Tree… thanks for sticking around.

While not the newest or fanciest movie theater around, this is still a decent place to check out a show. It tends to be less crowded than some of the other movie places and parking is never an issue. Having the bathrooms upstairs is a minor annoyance, but they do provide downstairs ones for those unable to do the stairs. I have my hopes that one day this will transform into a cheap theater, but so far no such luck. Prices are the same and this shows the same movies as everywhere else. I have yet to figure out if the stubs card is actually saving me money, but it does give a few benefits for becoming a member. Be sure to make sure that cashiers are giving you the benefits you are supposed to recieve when ordering food.

I came here on a random Thursday afternoon to see a movie. They have matinée prices, which are good until the evening showings. The theater is in a random shopping center that can be a bit of a pain to access from Aurora. The actual inside of the place probably hasn’t been upgraded and renovated since it was built in the early 90’s. The seats are super uncomfortable since the cushions are so flat from YEARS of being sat on. My back hurt a little bit after the movie since they are low back and do not recline. I wouldn’t come here to impress a date, or see a long movie since your back will suffer, but if you happen to be in the area and want a no frills theater, then you should go here.

I know, there are many choices when going to the movies, newer, shinier choices, with less crazy post-​modern architecture and 80’s flare, but these are some of the reasons I love Oak Tree.
The first morning showing of non-​3-​D movies is $ 6.50, which is crazy balls, in this day (July 21, 2013) and age.
Many theaters charge more, and have more bells and whistles, are louder (although AMC must rank at the top for volume) and definitely show more films but this kooky little multi-​plex has a charm all it’s own. It’s always clean, not terribly crowded (granted we go to the bargain first shows most of the time) and the staff are very, very friendly.
Right next door is a fantastic Asian grocery store to buy mochi and coconut water to add to your bag of popcorn, just be sly about it.

This theater is located on HWY 99 Southbound. It is old and small, but has great customer service. The seats aren’t very comfortable and the theater room itself is small.

Finally came to this theater. It’s old and I was always hesitant about it. I usually go to Thornton Place but there weren’t many theaters nearby playing the movie so off to Oak Tree we went.
Like many other establishments in this plaza, the theater is nicer on the inside than the outside. Honestly, it was better than I expected. It’s old but it’s not falling apart or anything. The screens are a little small and the seats are ok in terms of comfy-​ness.
The other major thing I look at in theaters are bathroom locations. They aren’t right outside the theater like in Thornton Place which I love. The first time I went, I went all the way upstairs. Then I realized there were 2 single stall (handicap priority) ones on that floor. You still have to exit the theater area and into the concession area but at least they have them. I honestly don’t understand why theaters put them past the area where they take your ticket because then if someone’s watching, you might have to tell them you’ll be right back or show them your ticket but I guess it’s pretty common. At least there were single stalls that were less than a minute away from each theater.
All in all, this is an ok theater to go to if they happen to have the movie you want and you’re in the area.

I’ve been coming to this theater since I was in middle school!
Over the years I’ve visited occasionally and it’s a good fall back. It’s nice to have a parking lot where you don’t have to pay to park.
There are lots of businesses around including a Starbucks, IHop, and Twin Gardens across the street. I like to eat dinner there then come to the movie.
The theater itself is old and the screens are small. I kept waiting for the curtains to roll back more but the screen was really just small.
There is plenty of leg room which is a plus. Seats are relatively comfortable.
The staff was friendly telling us hello and goodbye.
Restrooms are upstairs which is a bit inconvenient. There are two handicapped ones downstairs.
Overall, Oak Tree is okay but I only come here out of convenience.

This is a great place in North Seattle to see a movie. The popcorn is great. You can play video games before your movie starts and the theaters are large.
a+ for an older theater.

A long time ago, I’ had a few issues here with the movie just suddenly stopping, and once the fire alarm went off with 20 minutes left of a movie (it’s okay, it was Lady in the Water, so I’m sure I didn’t miss much. Yeah, I’ve never gone back to see the end of it.)
But lately, every experience has been a really good one. From the ticket cashier being friendly, to the concession cashier doing annoying-​free up sale attempts. The theatres have been clean and tidy, as have the bathroom. My popcorn’s always hot and fresh, and the theatre climates have been mild. I hate freezing my butt off during a movie. It pulls me out of my film going experience.
I’m glad I didn’t give up on this place.

3 stars is right for this theater. The seats are actually alright and there is easy parking (which is pretty hard to come by in Seattle). The seating isn’t stadium style, and it’s not the fanciest theater in town. However, it seems that most people head to Regal Northgate and this theater is a bit hidden, which makes the theater not too crowded! The theater is a bit old and it shows. At my last movie here (Captain America), the sound wasn’t working during some of the previews, but they were able to fix eventually.
They’re also now affiliated with AMC, so if you have an AMC Stubs card, you can get points here.

No frills but not a bad place to catch a flick.
Clean, free and plentiful parking, and they take Fandango coupons.

This theater is showing it’s age, but it’s still a good place to see a movie. On my last visit, the staff was very friendly and the theater was well kept.
Free parking is definitely a good thing as well.

WOW! Back in the day this place was the sh*t, now it’s just sh*tty…
Sad, times have changed but little has been done to this place. I guess I’ll continue to hike to Alderwood mall to get my THX groove on.
