Roasted duck is so good. We have been regular for 4 years! Once again the roasted duck!

A very simple place at HT Oak Tree Market. However, every food that the aunty and uncles made are very delicious. it feels like I’m going back to asia. What I like the most at this place is the fact that they are nice and : Bbq pork, chicken, duck with rice Fried rice with pork Pork Intestine Twice cooked pork

It took me awhile to venture into the restaurant area of HT Oaktree grocery store because it looked closed, but I’m glad I did. Ordered BBQ pork by the pound and house special fried rice. I’m used to dried out pork, but this stuff is juicy and cut to order. It’s the first time I’ve been asked how spicy I wanted the fried rice at a Chinese restaurant. Out of 5 stars, I ordered 3, and it is a good spice that heats the lips but doesn’t burn the belly. Oh! It’s a good serving size too. For the mediocre Chinese food in the area(so I hear), this place is worth a visit. Will come back!

This little joint is inside of Oaktree Market. Kinda ghetto-like, but honestly, who knew their food was really good? You walk into the grocery store, turn right and there it is. Almost like a café with cafeteria/diner-like seats, very small but understandable. The delicious, hot and fresh ducks, chickens, pork(and the other traditional take-out items) are in their little window/stand. You seriously cannot just walk by and not drool from the smell and sight. For $ 7.99/bbq pork… it is damn good. I am really picky when it comes to bbq pork – but man, I came here a while ago and was craving some bbq pork… I must say, it was flavorful, savory, and damn too legit to quit, haha. I loved how tender it was and how the fat was tasty with the meat. You can never have too much fat on bbq pork because that’s what brings out the flavors in the meat, especially bbq pork style(in my opinion at least). I come back this week to try it… and it was just as I recall. And the best part? It was still fresh. I came twice this week – once at 3PM and once at 6PM. I was skeptical to buy food at 6 in the evening knowing that it could be old food. However, it was so good. It was fresh, moist, and the flavors were still as it would taste – rich in soy sauce and whatever other seasonings they put. I am definitely a fan. Their other food, I have had but honestly can’t remember how it tasted. I know it was pretty good though. They make food fresh to order and are really nice people. The prices range from $ 7-$ 10 for main dishes… which is fairly priced to me. Good Chinese/Taiwanese food is always priced around there. Anyways… I haven’t had their bubble tea but the food is delicious!

This is a Taiwanese-owned little café-style restaurant inside of HT Oaktree Market. The service is very friendly and the food is pretty great! Some of the items are on the pricier side, but when your only Taiwanese option is this joint, you can’t really be picky. I haven’t had their bubble tea before, but I bought take out a few times. Their green onion pancake is tasty and I also like their combination plates with meat, veggies and rice. Their stewed pork over rice and zha jiang mien are not bad either. I’d definitely come back to buy more food next time! Maybe I’ll try some of their noodle soups… I know the place is skeptical because it looks dirty, but I would say to give them a try anyway! The food looks great and plus it’s better to take out than eat in anyway.

I have not tried their bubble tea, but I am a big fan of their Chinese BBQ pork, duck, salt(water) chicken, BBQ chicken, duck wings etc. Their flavors are very authentic(Taiwanese/Cantonese) and prices are fair. At the beginning I was hesitated to try because I was worried about how long those ducks and chickens were hanging there and wondering if they were made in the shop. After I talked to the owners, I realized that they were the supplier of some restaurants in the International District, so these are the freshest you can get. Those ducks and chickens were prepared daily fresh, the taste says it all. Because they limit 2 chicken per flavor daily, so sometimes there are not so many choices in the end of day. We now always pick up half duck or chicken when we do our grocery shopping in HT. There are some flavors I missed so much in these chicken and ducks that I just can not make it at home.

I’ve been here a few more times — still good, but definitely seems heavy on the MSG and other stuff. Good in a pinch.

I’ve been to Ten Pou Bubble Tea twice in the last few weeks. It’s located within an Asian grocery store that my boyfriend and I shop at, so it’s convenient to go and grab some bubble tea while we’re there. My last visit was ridiculous. First I sat around for 5 minutes waiting for someone to come to the counter and help me, rang their bell with no response. Continued to wait another 5 minutes to even be acknowledged. When the woman finally came she charged for the two bubble teas and told me ‘you wait’ while she went back over to the other kitchen located on the restaurant side of their business. I waited 10 minutes before she came over to even start making my drink and another 10 minutes for her to make the 2 bubble teas I ordered. I went into the store with my boyfriend who was literally completely done shopping before I even got our drinks. I’m not sure why it took so long, but waiting 30 minutes for something that should take no more than 5 minutes tops is ridiculous. Then to top it off the ‘watermelon’ bubble tea I ordered tasted nothing like watermelon. More like green tea and bubble gum. It was weird. My boyfriend ordered Strawberry Kiwi and seemed to enjoy his though.

Really sweet, i went there 2 times and never again. I hate doing negative reviews but hopefully the owners can read them and find them constructive.

Kind, friendly, mom & pop service. They don’t just serve bubble tea, they also have super fantastic chinese bbq pork, beef noodle soup, sticky rice wrapped in banana leafs and other tasty taiwanese/cantonese dishes. It’s a small take out counter with a cafeteria style eating area but the flavours there are tremendous and you can’t beat the home cooking style. Delish! It’s like going home for me.
