Less than a week following my review, the general manager sent me a note explaining that the service wasn’t normally like that and included a $ 25 gift card. I went back and indeed had much friendlier service and great food! Will definitely be going back again

I’ve been here about a dozen times and have enjoyed every visit. I find the atmosphere casual and the staff friendly. They are as attentive as I would expect and always seem to have the right attitude. The food is well above average for Irish fare in Seattle and pricing is acceptable. The beer selection is excellent and for a regular bar, the liquor selection and drinks are great. The icing on the cake is the patio which is a real treat in the summer.

This used to be a place with good food and service, but in the past months has really gone downhill. On my last three visits I have had multiple instances of slow service, dishes delivered to the table dirty(including water glasses), food served on a wet plate, and once there was a triple visit by the waiter to our table just to get two drink orders straight. Lately the food has seemed tougher, likely due to longer times under the warmer due to slow service. Hopefully they will get figure out what changed and get back to the quality food and service they used to have.

This is one of the worst places, and with some of the worst service, I have ever seen. Our waiter seemed put out that we existed, and was weirdly combative. Terrible, indeed. Go anyplace else.

Fun place to go — pretty typical Irish dishes. Great patio to sit out on for a nice sunny day. Had the fish ‘n chips… very good!

I came here after paddle boarding with my boyfriend and we stopped in to get beers, although we ended up getting food too. The clam chowder was really delicious, they pack it with clams and potatoes. My boyfriend lived his cod fish and chips and I had the blackened salmon salad with was also good. Great beer selection and an interesting cocktail list as well. The service was good, not excellent, but good.

Great outdoor seating with great Lake Union views. I had some decent fried clams and chips. I would recommend this place if you wanted a beer and a great view. I wouldn’t say this is a great dining destination but their french fries are solid. I had no issues with the service.

What the heck is with the good reviews!!! This place is a TERRIBLETRAGEDY! I was going to give this place two stars because the view/location and the great trouble they went to with the décor are both noteworthy, but the average rating of this place needs to be brought down a notch to be in line with what you can expect from the food, drink, and service. Our server, Ryan(?), was sloppy and haphazard. Our water glasses arrived with lipstick(and two other tables also were examining the lack of the cleanliness of their glasses as well). We asked the server to bring us another– he never did. I get this is a beer and whiskey joint, but c’mon– it’s the west coast, have a few token decent wines. 14 Hands? Uggggh– it’s like the Olive Garden of wine. The food was the lowpoint though. My chicken curry salad had a scant few pieces of lukewarm and tasteless chicken(and you gotta work hard to make curry tasteless, am I right?) and the overall blandness of the salad made it almost inedible. The nachos arrived atop downright stale chips with salsa that also tasted like it might have been good a few days ago. The wee salad was actually not terribly wee but was also lackluster. Overall feeling– it was like eating at one of those sit-down places at the airport… over-priced, not very tasty, and lackluster service. Seattleites, you should be ashamed for rating this place so highly when there are so many better options within a stone’s throw!

We dined there on 7⁄16. We very much like Terrible Beauty. The food and drinks are both good, and it has a very pleasant location with an outdoor patio when the whether is nice, and nice views even indoors. A good selection of Micro beers, and plenty of vegetarian options. My main gripe is the service. We have had some very good servers, frequently checking on us, and offering to get us more drinks when the current drinks are low, but we have also had servers that disappear for 10 minutes or more at a time. And times when we have had to ask other waiters if they could find our server so we could place orders. The good out weighs the bad, but they really need to train their servers more consistently.

Great view of Lake Union and good food. I had big expectations of the poutine fries and the are good but not as good as the ones I like from Vancouver. This is a good place to see the sunset and chat with a group of friends. I liked the draft beer selection.

Great watering hole, especially on a hot day. Very sunny outdoor seating, although I’ve personally never sat anywhere else other than the bar. Great beer selection on tap. Many of the standard Irish Pub options one always finds, plus a ton of local taps. They always have a selection that spans the taste spectrum(wheat, pils, IPA, red, stout, etc) so everyone is sure to find something they want. Only downside is that on each of my last 4 visits, getting a really cold pint seems difficult. Not that they were warm or anything, just not frosty. Food is OK, standard Irish Pub stuff. Nothing that will have you making a special trip to get, but fine once you’re there. I personally don’t like their fries, but the corned beef is actually pretty tasty. Although not a deal breaker, the service leaves a lot to be desired. It isn’t that they are rude or anything, just the opposite. But they always seem to be really disorganized and a bit scattered — like it is everyone’s first week or something. There is also often a lot of chit chat between them behind the bar that distracts from refilling my beer.

This place used to(INTHEPAST) have the best Reuben sandwich ever. But I’ve noticed that the quality has gone down substantially. More specifically, the corned beef is no longer good. I didn’t even finish my sandwich today. Also, the people on staff has reduced as well. There were just 3 people serving a packed house at Friday lunch hour. Needless to say, we had to wait over 20 minutes for our round of beers. And the waitress confided that the owner is not hiring more help to cut costs and because he thinks the staff is «getting lazy».

Wow… service here lacks. Outside wasn’t full and I was the only person inside. No one came to wait on me. I had to wait over 5 minutes before I went up to the bar to get my drink. The bartender seemed extremely bored and barely spoke. Pretty disappointed. Only plus is that they have BB Scotch Ale and Irish Death on tap.

Jon is a great bartender. Fantastic working knowledge of whiskey and scotch. Turned us on to a few great ones that we wouldn’t have found else wise. Would definitely recommend this bar to locals or out of towners. Irish nachos are also very good. Good stick to your ribs food for a night of drinking. Would absolutely come here again. Great Irish bar!

Be wary of some terrible service if its busy. This particular location does not staff well during peak hours, especially summer Happy Hours. I usually like the food if I’m coming for dinner, but when I have been multiple times and get the wrong food items delivered to my table, I can’t really enjoy MY food now can I? It was so bad one time, with not getting a table and then drink orders messed up, that the manager gave us a $ 30.00 gift card to come back and make it up to us. We went back, and it really didn’t do much to change our minds. If they get their act together they could be a decent Irish pub with some okay Irish/Bar food. I prefer the West Seattle location as far as the service goes. If you happen to come for dinner when it’s not so busy, the entries are usually pretty good. The apps and Happy Hour food is usually frozen fried bar stuff. Whiskey menu is pretty good as well.

We came here for lunch since it’s close to work and it was actually pretty empty for lunch time. We sat upstairs at a table for 6. Since it’s an Irish pub, I wasn’t sure if there would be anything for a vegetarian like myself to eat, but I was happy to find the«winner, winner! cheesy dinner» a beauty’s grilled cheese on the menu! Everyone else got fish and chips, the hot dip sandwich, a burger, or a salad. The food did take a while to come and I was expecting it to be faster since the restaurant was pretty empty. But when my grilled cheese came, I was SO happy since it was full of feta, which is my favorite! I asked the waitress for extra tomatoes, and she forgot to bring them and I had to ask again, but no worries about that because the sandwich was just delicious. Probably one of the yummiest grilled cheese sandwiches I’ve had in a while. Would I come back? For that grilled cheese, oooh yeahhh.

Swung by here with some friends Saturday night. We were seated upstairs next to the fireplace, which was nice. The tables are very low and it was basically in my lap. I ordered a couple of drinks(Bloody Mary which was good and magners cider) as well as Irish nachos. The food was pretty yummy and the entire atmosphere fits what you’d want from an Irish pub. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review was the service. Our server was so quiet we could barely hear him, he seemed to have very little enthusiasm. We also had to bus our own table several times as we were all done with food and drinks, but when he took our order for additional drinks he didn’t clear any of the table at all.

Usually come here for brunch on Sunday and I love how it’s not so packed. Near the fireplace upstairs is the perfect spot to sit overlooking Lake Union and the Space Needle. I love their Corned Beef Hash and Eggs, which has chunks of diced corned beef. The ballybricken chicken countryside fritter is also delicious! They do serve beer for brunch and have a variety of choices… Irish Death is usually the pick. I have ordered a bloody Mary, salty dog, and a glass of Cabernet at different times. Also, came here for a quick drink and a few appetizers on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve. Had some basic wings with the sauce on the side as well ad prawn and sausage skewers. The staff is very friendly and quite attentive. We live closer to ATB in Renton but would definitely drive a little further for this location. The only caveat to this place the parking lot out front is a paid parking but there is ample and spacious parking. It only cost us $ 4 for 4 hours. If you’re lucky enough to get one of the limited spots on the street then no need for a parking fee.

Lunch time was quiet but that just meant the service was awesome! Friendly greetings on arrival set the tone and my expectations were climbing high. Curry Tomato soup and fresh bread had my tongue dancing an Irish Jig.(Yes, I know curry isn’t an authentic Irish flavor but it was delicious regardless). The sunshine on Lake Union and the great views from the upstairs made playing hooky from work well worth it. =D I’ll be returning to test the happy hour waters and try their menu for the after work crowds.
